A Parchment Sent To The Barracks.

The parchment is ordinarily delivered along other mail. It comes from one Irravel Veda, and the return address is that of a room at the Foul Olde Spirit's.
To the attention of the Harmonium Recruitment Office.
My name is Irravel Veda. I offer my sincere apologies for not showing up in person, this is out of shame for my foul origins which I will detail in the following document.
Twenty-five years ago, the wretched drowish race succeded in opening a gate to the Harmonium world of Ortho. A small raiding party consisting of four males was sent through said gate. In their fury, they attacked a farm not far from where the gate appeared, killed three occupants, severely injured another and sexually assaulted a young human female by the name of Therys Veda. It was only the timely intervention of a harmonium patrol that saved the woman's life. All the pitiful drowish scum was obliterated. The gate was sealed soon afterwards and the incident was archived.
From this event came to be my conception, as the aforementioned Therys Veda was the woman who gave me birth. Instead of disposing of the abominable fruit of a horrid sin, as should have been the case, the woman decided that I should have lived. She cared for me as any mother until her sudden death of natural causes, which came to be before I was seven years of age.
Though I have few memories of my life with Therys Veda, I do remember being cared for by the Harmonium after her death. I still strongly disagree with the choice of adopting and raising a dreadful half-blood like myself, yet for this I am indeed grateful to the Harmonium. To repay the ones who spared my undeserved life, I swore my oath of fealty aged nine, and began my military training shortly thereafter. Due to my excellent eyesight, I was trained in the use of the longbow.
I will not bore you with the useless details of my training, which may be considered not unlike any other standard Harmonium training. However, after the aforementioned training was complete, I found myself stationed in the city of Valor, from where I decided to journey to Sigil and put my abilities in service of the Harmonium until the end of my life, for so great is my debt that only with my life I shall be able to repay it.
Due to my horrid nature, I will understand a refusal to meet my humble request: should this be the case, I want it to be known that even as less than a namer I will continue to follow the Harmonium laws and to act for the advancement of the Harmoium and its goals.
My current address is attached. I myself will cover the expenses for the delivery of your reply.
