*attached along is the article from SIGIS, also the couple shrapnels of the bomb harvested from the site*
Having read the gossip magazine SIGIS regarding an article of disorder in the Hive Ward I, Milley Krown, chose to investigate whether the gossips were true or the usual enhanced reality. So far what it says appears to be the truth after examining the scene. I spoke to the bartender Ghuurakk whom explained that apparently this Nero and the sentient golem of design Protector Mark XIV were there to speak to an information broker called Xessiryx, they appeared to the bartender agitated. Nero claimed to be investigating for the Harmonium, however there seems to be mixed thoughts of him being a vigilante as well.
It seemed like these two refused to leave before they got something they wished, the golem accused this information broker of theft, which I can only speculate to be that jink traded owner but sufficient information didn't or they have more history than I know. Well at this moment the golem decided to throw a bomb filled with shrapnels that killed Xessiryx. After this the reputably hostile bars residents lost it and assaulted the two. It is unknown what exactly happened to Nero, but presumably he escaped through a portal while the golem made a massacre out of with a blade.
Current where abouts of the two suspects is still unknown.

Milley goes to file a report of the recent destructive incidence for the general collaborative and documentation purposes as well for the Harmonium. Also he files a request to his superiors to get a file that contains information about this Nero and if Harmonium sanctioned investigation then of it as well, Protector Mark XIV as well as a genasi called "Xessiryx" whom he describes as an information broker and any possible relations she may have.

In addition to whatever official information the Harmonium have regarding Nero Urbane, he has a reputation for working with them regarding Hive specific crimes. He's worked as a consultant detective with the Harmonium for roughly eight months, with his liaison, Measure Alathra Blackthorne, mostly representing that particular relationship.
It's highly suspected that Nero uses this consultancy to assist in his own investigations, rather than assist in the Harmonium's, though no one denies that they have the same general goals. Nero apparently specializes in moderate to high profile crimes within the Hive: murder, rape, extortion.
His investigations are lengthy, some even claim too long and thorough, uncovering further evidence well after a suspect's guilt has been ascertained. A majority of his cases end with him dropping a thick file on a Factotum's desk and handing over the suspect. Every so often, however, Nero's investigations abruptly end and the suspect disappears.
There isn't a single known incident in which Nero has ever harmed a Hiver non-combatant.

After a bit of digging, Milley would come across some useful tidbits of information:
Xessiryx the Dark Monger was an information broker of moderate notoriety. She largely operated out of the Bazaar and Lady's Ward. It is estimated that she arrived in Sigil 6 years ago ( per tax records) as a relative unknown from a Prime world and slowly worked to increase her reputation and network as a broker. Her net worth at the time of death is estimated to be approximately 2 million jink (officially), though sources report that the true figure may be up to three times that amount.
Her only record with the Harmonium includes an arrest and a fine of 30,000 jink for trespassing at the Hall of Records in the middle of the night in one of the restricted sections reserved for factioneers. A full search of her possessions revealed no stolen items and she was not charged for theft.
Her faction affiliation is Indep.
Approximately 8 months ago, officers who patrol the bazaar recall seeing her often followed by a monodrone in bad condition known as Pipsqueak. Interestingly enough, Pipsqueak followed around a Gnoll - Rusty Halendon - for approximately the same amount of time before he also met his demise at the hands of a murderer.
Known Notable Affiliates:
Shemeska the Marauder
Kylie the Tout
Harys Hatchett
Estevan - of the Planar Trade Consortium

Despite the high profile information broker that goes beyond Milleys pay grade he doesn't feel passing over the case to higher ranked just yet, having just gained a promotion after all for his resolution to seeing things through would make it feel a hollow title.
Checks to see whether there are contact information available of the associates, Pipsquek included, after all, they might be clue for solving what's brewing underneath the chaos and whether it was isolated event or all connected. Milley starts to fill into the report the additional information to ensure others observing the case file have ease of following his trails.
((This can be done in game if it's more suited for others too :) I just mostly don't know where else to continue it properly. Edited to emphasize what he checks to see and what requires input for the ease of reader.))

After this he checks if there are known, to Harmonium, places of residence for Nero, the golem and Xessiryx that could be visited.wrote:*added to the previous report is new parchment and a notation to the records where the information was taken*
Xessiryx would appear to be a high profile "dark monger" that has great many riches and associations. While she appears to be clean besides a single tresspassing, which is to be expected from an information broker, there may be more going under the surface. I have been unable to locate Nero or this sentient construct Protector Mark XIV. As I'm unable to follow any of the participants directly, it appears that I will need to contact associates and follow leads until I find the culprits.
It is highly likely unrelated, but a monodrone called "Pipsquek" ties her to another murder eight months ago from the time of this report. It is however worth taking a look. I do not expect much as monodrone sentience is rudimentary at best.

Pipsqueak can often be found in the bazaar near Khazeet's bar. He is easy to recognize as he is the only monodrone whose joints squeak loudly in protest with every move he makes.
Xessiryx has an address in the Lady's Ward that the Harmonium are authorized to enter for investigating the murder.

With the address to Xessiryx' apartment within the Ladys Ward, he'd take his leave to go inspect whether he could find any clues to the mystery at hand. If at scene there'd be other Harmonium, he'd show his badge to ensure his membership. If there are residents in the house still other than Xessiryx', he'd make sure to introduce him to them all or at least their standing representative. Initially gives it a surface glance to be able to determine what portions he might wish to investigate further or whom to question if anyone around.

The small, inconspicuous apartment was nestled among two others just like it on the cobbled Slew Street. The drab dark-brown door was neither welcoming nor discouraging, it was the perfect place to live for someone who did not want to be noticed.
The door was opened by undoing a simple, weak lock and no magical wards greeted Milley as he entered the modest apartment. A dusty, lingering air greeted his nostrils, indicating that this place wasn't lived-in much. It likely served as more of a hideout. This suspicion was confirmed by the white sheets draped over most of the furniture in the small living room, and the lack of fresh food in the tiny kitchen. The place was sparsely decorated, with several glowing blue orbs rotating in orbit around the center of the living room's table. Their purpose aside gentle lighting was unknown. As Milley entered the bedroom, he realized it was more a study than anything:
Shelves with books of every color and size lined the walls, a brief glimpse upon them would reveal their exceedingly rare nature. Some of the titles Milley's eyes glanced through included: The Factol's Manifesto, A guide to accessing Ancient Sigil, Baatezu Troop Movements Over the Last Century, and Suspected Anarchist Cell Rosters. Off to the side was an unremarkable bedroll, which if searched would yield several faction badges - those of the Fated, the Dustmen, and the Godsmen. The bedroll was made of cheap material and did not look heavily used.
The centerpiece was a small circular table which had two chairs on opposite ends. Upon the table was a large crystal ball that glowed brightly of magic. Finally, there was an exquisite wooden desk off to the side with several open books and various minor magical items, including a ring of non-detection, and an amulet of insight (Wisdom +3). There was also a small, ellipsoid amber stone, the significance of which was unknown to Milley.
It was here where the investigator found a journal. Several of the recent entries read like so:

Milley enters the building cautiously expectant of traps as there was no guarantee that they may have dissipated upon her demise, unless she was the source of creation, but there had also been an message in the SIGIS regarding their nature being hoax so he dared to step in and study. Remaining throughout on his search and pats through walls and floor to find hollow points that might gesture of hidden space, turns over rugs, feeling through cushions for hidden locales in fabrics. Also creaking floor would get brief inspection whether it would be wooden panel hiding things.
A dark-monger usually knows how to keep things well hidden after all. Despite making a mess, he also makes sure to search room at a time and place things neatly back on their places if it resulted to nothing. Any valuables, exception of Faction badges he left in their place, after all he had no real right to the property however the badges he deemed evidence and confiscated, for now he bagged them.
Observes the expensive and rare variety of books with great intrigue and envy, especially those of alchemic nature. Despite temptation, he only picks up the Suspected Anarchist Cell Rosters, gives it a very brief skim to see if Xessiryx' might appear within it as the badges implied. As there was no guarantee of her being just an indep. Still he didn't spend too much time on the book. Giving it a long consideration he finally confiscated the said book, while not related to current investigation it may in the end prove vital for other investigations.
Finally getting to the desk, the jackpot, a smile spread to his face as he inspected without touching the objects. Before touching anything, he went to the door, ensuring it is shut and from his many pockets took a single cure light wounds potion aligning it to lean against the door in such fashion that if it was to be opened the vial would fall over. After all, he didn't want to get sneaked up on. Then returned back to the table. Uncertain what the elliptic amber stone was, for now he deemed it to be for the best to confiscate and return it is irrelevant to the investigation.
He studied the crystal ball for a while... then decided it for the best to place a cloth over it just to be on the safe side if someone tried to take a peek. Then finally turned his eyes on the journal which he'd spend a good amount of time to inspect the contents of, especially of the past few days and things related to Nero or the sentient golem Protector Mark XIV.

Excerpts from Xessiryx's Journal:
************************************************************************************
I am heading to meet the informant at the Bottle and Jug, to barter for more darks pertaining to Kaori SuzumeÂ’s escape plan.
************************************************************************************
Pipsqueak led me to the hiding place of UrbaneÂ’s friend. I saw her for what she truly was, and it dawned me why he was searching for Mass in SigilÂ’s bowels to begin it. I also realized why the Godsmen are after Protector Mark XIV.
Undoubtedly, there is a connection between this and the rash of recent crimes involving the Merkhant Warehouse and the Guvner Directive-9.
************************************************************************************
Looking through my crystal ball, I experienced another disturbing vision: rusted metal and a loud explosion, blood everywhere. I am making it a point to bring Pipsqueak wherever I travel for the next few weeks, just for safety.
********************************************************************************
Striking new revelations about Pipsqueak have made me re-evaluate the extent of this creature’s power. I have learned that it can lead me to anywhere on the Planes upon request - even places whose locations are unknown to me . Is this knowledge of Sigilian and Planar topography secondary to its longevity? I wonder how old Pipsqueak really is. At this point, I am fairly certain that it is not a monodrone – a fact I suspected when I first traveled with it to the Abyss and it accidentally careened into the Lake of Lava, only to emerge on the other side several minutes later, no worse for the wear. With the aid of Pipsqueak, I have located Valroth’s cache in Undersigil , and I will locate the hiding place of Nero’s friend afterwards. I am also beginning to wonder if Shemeska is in the dark as to the extent of Pipsqeak’s capabilities. A month previous, I gifted the Maurauder the monodrone in exchange for darks pertaining to the Vangraddi incident. Strangely enough, Shemeska refused the gift, citing that it was “of little use” to her. Perhaps I am the only one who realizes what Pipsqueak truly is.
********************************************************************************
Nero, Protector Mark XIV, and the female known as Nyravelle followed me down to the catacombs underneath the JokerÂ’s Palace. They refused to give me the location of their friend as payment for information pertaining to MassÂ’s weakness.
As expected, they were all slaughtered ..quickly. I decided to remove them from danger and spare their lives, not out of impulse or compassion, but because I required Protector Mark XIV alive. The Godsmen Factotum insisted that I deliver it to him in working order. I assumed that the creature would head back down to attempt to save its friends and risk death once more so I brought up Nero and Nyravelle as well, to a shallower depth of Undersigil and left them to recover after stripping their bodies of useful articles.
*************************************************************************************
AamaliaÂ’s package was delivered, and Pipsqueak returned to the bazaar with her payment which I promptly forwarded to ShazzÂ’fk as payment for the dark pertaining to Kaori SuzumeÂ’s plan to escape the Prison
*************************************************************************************
I met with Nero Urbane today, and he took me to his friendÂ’s Undersigil sanctum. The area was sparsely decorated, and I noticed that it lacked any remnants of food or water that human settlements are notorious for. The place was impeccably kempt. I wonder if Urbane cleaned it up before our tour.
He informed me that the easiest way to reach it is via portal, and showed me how.
Milley could keep reading if he so wished, but this was what immediately caught his eye from the most recent entries.
Looking upon the crystal ball, Milley saw nothing save fog and haze. Skimming through the Tome he confiscated, he found nothing referring to Xessiryx, though he found the name "Kaori Suzume" in multiple cell rosters (at least 4), which made him question the legitimacy of the book's dark - as it is well known that Anarchist cells rarely, if ever communicate, much less have the same members.
The amber stone was strange, it thrummed in Milley's hand upon touch, and made him a bit dizze- but was rather unremarkable when one wasn't in direct contact.
