((Same thing as last time, mostly aimed at DemonicResonance and CaptV, but others may feel free to hop in just the same.))

Locals and Behavior

Another lecture takes place in Arcadia, this time within a small amphitheater, there's perhaps eighty notaries gathered all together, loud chatter between companions of duty right before the lecture is starting. The mood rather friendly off-duty relaxation. It however does not take long for a pale and rather skinny individual in a crimson red gown to finally take his place in the center, he removes cowl from his head to reveal a bald and perhaps a bit unhealthy pale face.

The man in center twitches a couple of times lifting his fist to cover his mouth, then his lips moves, but due to the chatter around you, you're unable to hear what's going in. Again the man twitches twice while covering his mouth, lips moving again... as if the lecture was being wasted whilst you hear nothing. However... it was about to change, the figure clasped his hands together and moved his thin bony fingers in complex patterns, then got down to his knees and clasped his palm to the stage.

Not a moment longer than everyone would suddenly see a duplicate image of the lecturer tapping their shoulder and stating in low tone. "The lecture is about to start, pay attention or leave." which proved to be rather efficient manner to cease the chatter and turn the attention at the mage in center, whom quickly dismissed the mass illusionary field. He soon straightened up and continued to speak on rather low tone.

[size0]*cough cough* "Welcome everyone... I am Paradox Sinsinner, Mover two in rank... and I will hold you todays lecture about dealing with locals and how you should behave with them. As usually, we will have test after the session... however todays test will be about passing through test chamber we have set." [size0]*cough cough*

We Harmonium are a strong faction able to work alone and against public, however more than usually we co-operate with the rulers of the lands or some of the organizations. There are still things to remember... first thing, we are not their friends nor are we their parents or their army. We are individual organization whom are bringing order, peace and security with our terms.

[size0]*cough cough*

You may become friends with locals eventually, it is even expected. That is fine, but while you are on your duty, they are not your friends, drinking buddies, or you personal relationships, they are just people. Leave your friendships and personal dislikes out of duty, on duty only couple things matters... [size0]*cough cough*

Going by rule of threes...

One; Public safety is endangered.
Two; Laws are broken.
Three; What your superior has ordered you to do.

[size0]*cough cough*

You will then continue with the usual methods to bring safety, regardless if your local friends or enemies are involved, they are subject to same rules as everyone else. While you're on duty, you are a Harmonium member, part of something greater, not only individual...

[size0]*cough cough* the lecturer looked aside and nodded to what seemed like group of other people whom quickly shuffled off. Paradox again turned his attention at the notaries.

We will now proceed on the practical training... you'll be sent in groups of threes to patrol small urban area, and I want you to note out every suspicious activity you might notice, and react accordingly. This is an exercise, no lethal force is allowed to be used. As I call your names, you'll step forth and go, rest of you will wait...

[size0]*cough cough*

And true to the words, the people were fetched in group of threes, though the last group drew the short straw and only gained two members in it...

Ever the one to take the first step, Alathra sat after having listened through the second lecture, slightly dissapointed in herself after the results of the first test had returned. She had gone through tests before, however, and knew that sometimes, the die just wasn't cast straight and you couldn't get through by acing everything.

With her years on her back now, she also knew that test scores wasn't everything. More than once had she seen the brightest hopes within controlled enviroments fold under pressure, no amount of training available for that first time where you stand in a hostile zone, questions of life and death for not only you, but those of your squad as well, waiting around every corner. And she knew, that teamwork was the best, if not only, way to achieve the best result, especially in an urban environment as the City of Doors.

As her mind's voice slowly ebbed out, she looked to her companions for the test, nodding to them both.

"Stay sharp, brothers. We'll make it through this."

Xasaria never said she was a compitent leader, mind you, she was very good at manipulating people who didnt do as they were told. She smirked inwardly, it was all about telling people where to go.

Strategy was simple, let them do their job, it didnt matter about the 'rules of engagement' all that mattered was the 'rules' were upheld. After all, the instructor made it clear they wanted a "professional" standard, and professionals, dont mess around with nonsense such as 'empathy' and 'setting a standard'. They get their job done, at any cost.

With that, she sent her dispatches to get their job done, she also made a note that if they "could" get away with bringing in a little coin from it, it wouldnt hurt the Harmonium coffers. After all, you can never have enough jink, its calling was so much sweeter than a fine wine.

Klaud did his best to pay attention to the lecturer and took notes as necessary. His biggest concern was patrolling a place he didn't know. In Sigil, Klaud had learned the city piece by piece but here....

The paladin snapped out of his worries when his name and quickly stumbled off to meet his 'team'. Even if he happened to be the dynamic duo, Klaud would greet his team in the same way.

"Alrigh', pleasure meet ya'. Simple job, we stay on task an' alert there'll be nothin' to worry 'bout."

The test results are brought in after a days break...

Alathra Blackthorne
Her keen eyes can see small clues quite easily here and there as in the small urban exercise city area the people spoke seemingly casually, from the edge of her eyes however at times could see someone sneaking, but as quickly hiding as she'd turn to look. A trap, too obvious for her even it seemed. Then a wagon came in front them, though it initially may have seemed like a roadblock, it soon turned out to be innocent part of script to put them off guard as two seeming merchants came to argue loudly between each other regarding whose fault it was. While the argument seemed to get more heated and her companions were slowly going to move to settle the argument before it came to combat, Alathra spotted a couple men in common street wear trying to steal from the wagon. Her quick reflexes aided her to get the upper hand and capture one before they could do anything and the other members of her group made a brief chase to take care of the last one as easily. Splendid work. Keep this up and you'll become a Measure in no time. Passed: A+ [/li]
Xasaria
Xasaria and her two companion Hardheads strolled through the evening streets of the city. Initially nothing seemed to be all that wrong, though soon it turned out that they had simply picked the patrolling routes in wrong order. Small confusion in the group, but her calm approach kept the situation under control and continued to patrol through. They passed now through one of the streets for second time, something was off... Xasarias senses just told that everything wasn't quite what it seemed. After brief look around she finally noticed it, a nervous seeming man, peeking at them awfully often although obviously trying to hide it or avoid looking at them. As they approached he started to ring a bell, then walk off as if nothing was happening. Her companions rushed blindly to capture the man, but soon it turned out a group of two others rushed from the building he had been close by and both ran off to different paths. She with her quick feet managed to catch the other rather well... but one was off and the other two of her group brought in the "watchman". Test was over. Passed: B- [/li]
Klaud
It was dark streets to Klaud as well, streets had mostly cleared and only couple places had any open activity on them. The night started to seem uneventful, she didn't seem to hear or see anything, but then a wobbling figure came up from the streets speaking incoherently. A city drunk, whom explained there to have been murder in one of the alleys. The group of Hardheads looked each other, and went to follow. To Klaud it seemed fine, however after they had already followed a while and the "drunk" man seemed uncertain of direction, it came clear that something was off, one of the Hardheads even noted that he didn't actually even smell booze. They had been lured off, with quick movement the "drunk man" was captured and left for one Hardhead, then the remaining Hardhead and Klaud rushed to from where they were lured off, needless to say not too far they found a wagon that was being moved away slowly. They managed to capture the two handling it, though one nearly got away. And test was over for Klaud also. Passed: B+ [/li]
