((Well I was feeling creative, so here it is for CaptV and DemonicResonance, and if other Hardheads want to be part of same lecture, that's all good for me too. ))

Duty and Etiquettes

Within Arcadia a lecture in one of the largest Harmonium compounds is taking place. Several new and old a like is taking part of the lecture. A gruff and disgruntled seeming dreadfully scarred man in his fifties limbs to the front of the classroom of thirty people. HeÂ’s missing eye, left hand and his left leg seems to be embraced with metallic supports. ItÂ’s clear this is a real veteran, signs of Mover four in his suit.

As he finally gets to the front, he casts a one eyed glare to the class of expectant students that still seem to sit comfortably and suddenly blurts out on loud and demanding tone “Attention! Superior in classroom, show respect!” the classroom snaps to standing position and salutes, chairs and tables having creaking and being shoved aside, couple falling down. ”As you were. I am Bennok Zar, mover four of Harmonium... Todays lecture is about Duty and Etiquettes. There will be test. Some of you will pass… ” his gaze drifting through the crowd ”But not all of you. So listen carefully!”

He limbed through the front of the class back and forth, though he was clearly damaged man and lacked grace definitely. He seemed to grasp the respect of most within the class in relentless soldier attitude. ”Notaries, what is our duty?!” he shouted the question in demanding tone to the class. A hesitation within the classroom, but then a more unified and scrambled reply “Creating peace!”. Lecturer was not impressed so he shouted again. ”I can’t hear you!” now the classroom seemed to gather unified answer ”To create peace!” a slight grin on the lecturers face ”There’s hope for you rookies yet. And correct, peace is our goal.” he shifts his position again, half-dragging his left leg with him.

”While we create and uphold peace, we have a proper way of doing it. This differs us from barbarians and criminals. It may seem tedious, it may take more time, but the Harmonium is not a place for sissies.” He lifted his fist in air and extended finger each time he added new things to remember.
”Rule number one: You will respect your superiors and do as ordered.” “Rule number two: You shall not disgrace Harmonium or our symbol.” “Rule number three: You will not question your companions in public.“ “Rule number four: You will obey the rules of engagement when necessary.” “Rule number five: You will act in exemplar manner for others.“ [/li]
A pause as all his fingers are pointed out to the class, he withdraws his hand and again shifts his place. ”What this means is that you will not drink on duty, you do not use drugs nor will you smoke on duty. If your superior tells you to do something, you better damn consider your life depends on doing that, if they abuse their power, they are to be reported to their superiors. We are not some raiders that goes around beating and sacking places, and you better damn remember that, we are professional warriors and guards, act like it.

You are to act united, if our foes or civilians see our opinions to differ or other dents in our armor, they will use it. If you disagree with your companion or superior, you do not question them openly, you will discuss them in private, if no peace can come between ourselves, then damn we are not going to make such for others either.

Rules of Engagement you need to remember. First a warning is to be given and a chance to come or go peacefully. If warning is not heard or listened you are to evaluate the situation to either make firmer warning and last chance to come peacefully or to engage if situation so requires. If you are under assault, you are not required to warn the assailant. Avoid lethal strikes where able, but do not let it compromise your combat effectiveness, thereÂ’s no one else to blame than the idiots that donÂ’t take a chance to surrender where due.

And if you ever publically disgrace the Harmonium or its symbol deliberately, you will be expelled. Is this understood?!”

A booming reply ”Sir, yes sir!” and another grin spread to the lecturers face. ”Now to see if you rookies have been listening today or on your other lectures, test time.” he limbed from the front to pass pile of papers that were quickly spread around the room for each participants…

Alathra sat within the classroom along the other attendees. She had initially been somewhat annoyed at the decision since she had so much unfinished business within the City of Doors, but eventually, she had become inspired by the Mover Four and his mere presence.

Now, she sat with a curious mind and a faint smile upon her lips, listening to his words with a reserved eagerness. It was almost fifteen years ago she had been in the same situation, then a squire within the Solamnic Knights of Ansalon on her Prime World. Then she had taken it all in, eager to get out and battle for all that was right, but now, her mind was different, having experienced so much since her untimely departure from Krynn.

One thing did she know, however. Her idea of peace was far more effective than the brutal and mindless oppression of Notary Xasaria. And like hell she was going to fall behind at this camp. She uttered a soft prayer to her god and set her pencil to the test, her mind and wit sharp.

Xasaria for all her brutality was also increadably clever. Her lips pursed into the fientest of smirks, she was all too aware of how to pass examination.

All that it required was the right friends in high places and all that required was getting yourself noticed by the ... 'right' that is to say, financially endowned people. She wasnt one to care about the "peace" concept of the Harmonium so much as the entertainment of "enforcing" it.

After all, might makes right was our motto and she sure as nine hells wasnt about to let some stuckup paladin throw her down the gutter with her divine nonsense. It was time to proove brain and brawn can combine and more so, playing fair was "not" the best way to win.

((Demonic suggested I join in. <3 Feeling welcome already.))

Although quiet and relatively attentive for the duration of the lecture, Azrael was clearly restless and perhaps even a bit... disinterested. This was certainly not how he wanted to be spending his time, but appearances were crucial, and by now he was used to having this redundant material drilled into his head. All the time previously spent in Arcadia would surely come in handy for the few portions of the discussion he wound up... zoning out on.

Lacking the competitive nature Xasaria and Alathra seemed to hold, he simply worked at the assignment given, more concerned with getting it done than thinking about outshining the others.

Klaud sat towards the back of the room to give greener members the "good" seats. Over his years as a notary the paladin had been in many lectures as this one but each proved relaxing and interesting. His only regret was that he didn't see more attending.

It was good to see Alathra was present even if some of the more questionable Harmonium members weren't. He saw her as wise beyond her years and being willing to sit through this lecture proved it.

When the tests were passed out Klaud quickly put away his notes, hoping his attention paid off..

The test results come in after all the tests were written...

Alathra
Though during the day of test it might've felt like nothing quite went as well as it could've (D20 roll), the theory parts where you didn't know the answer had some bad guesses which lowered the overall score. However there was many parts in the test where your religious and ethical views helped. Passed: B- [/li]
Xasaria
It just was your day, even the parts of the test where you didn't know the answers went right. The views of Hextor and your ethical views also helped plenty. Below is added a message: Excellent. Passed: A+ [/li]
Azrael
Overall the test went decently, however more ethical indepth seemed to go mostly fifty fifty guessing. Overall it wasn't a bad, nor suberb score. Passed: B [/li]
Klaud
You scored well, there wasn't many questions you didn't know proper answer to, however there was couple which the test checkers seemed like wanted more extensive answer. Passed: A- [/li]
((To explain the grading system a bit. Being lawful and/or worshipping lawful deity gave bonus, where as being chaotic or worshiping chaotic deities gave penalty, high mental scores also gave bonus, certain history/background traits gave extra bonus. Die roll was only which came as the die indicated, which means it had quite huge difference to the results.))

Zephyr cannot be reached for the class's as he is away (he claims) on family bussiness. He isnt dodgeing the class he simply had no idea about it as he returned to the city of High Gust on the plane of air days before the lectures were even held.
