She seems less than amused.

"Hardly the time or the place notary. You'll be hearing from us with regard to the evidence. Its in no one's interest to obstruct the progress of the law. Now there is more here you'd like t search?"

He nods calmly, points to the locked chest and the table.

"Of course. Lets see what we can find in there. Can you open the lock, Cat? Or perhaps can you do it, Notary Lyricia? If not I think I have a scroll of Knock somewhere...."

@ Lucia: The weapons are of an exceptional quality (+4). They all contain the the enchantment to make them extremely sharp and have the a seal on the hilt near the pommel. You remember seeing the seals in a few places within Locke's residence. They contain a third property as you can tell by magical symbols that run across the blade.

@ Hograth: The ledgers contains all the record sales Sir Locke has had for the past ten years as you can tell by the dates listed on some transactions. A futher examination will be required to notice any patterns to the sales or names.

@ Caterina: The lock is highly sophisticated and is inlaid with magical wards (Spellcraft check to identify what they are). From what you can tell from your attempts to try and pick the locks you will need an expert in the field. (Base (not modified) skill of at least 25 in lockpicks)

Lucia digs out some balls of wax. She makes a wax imprint of each of the seals on the longswords, and stores the imprints into a small wooden box.

She then copies the magical symbols into her notebook, and attempts to figure out their meaning.

/// Relevant skills for possible rolls after buffing: Spellcraft 31

She then turns to Hograth.

"Notary Hograth, when we get back to the barracks, I'll need to make use of a scribe to copy my notes on these weapons. We need to find out who has weapons similar to those that are here."

She then turns to Caterina.

"Lady Arnders, can you look at these magical symbols? I want to make sure I'm not seeing things."

Caterina tries the lock one more time before giving it up as a bad job. She stops to examine the runes though.

"You'll need someone better at this than I am I'm afraid."

As Lucia hands her the sword she looks it over taking note of the enchantment.

//Spellcraft roll for the doors and the sword as well to follow, when I get home and can post a screenie or if you'd prefer to make the roll she has 33 ranks in spellcraft an ability (int) modifier if +4 and a further +3 modifier from skill focus spell craft. So that is a total of 40.

"Alright, Notary Lyricia. I will see to it that a namer with appropriate skills is assigned to your support."

Then he turns to Caterina. "It will take time to examine those. I suggest that we have both Harmonium and Fraternaty personnel going through those records.

As for the lock..."

He pulls a Scroll from his collection, offering it to her.

"Do you think a spell will work?"

Caterina examines the runes on the locks trying to discern whether the scroll will work but she is doubtful

@ Caterina: The magical wards on the lock prevents it from being opened by any spell such as Knock or any others. You can tell that the wards on the lock are to prevent any magical or divine spell from opening the lock.

@ Lucia : You are unable to tell what the third property is, as you've never seen it's like before on any weapons. It will require some research to find out what that third magical property is.

Caterina finishes examining the lock.

"A knock spell just won't work we'll need a key. If its something so important Sir Locke will have it on him, and if the Harmonium has followed procedures then they will have confiscated it with the rest of the posessions he had on him when he was arrested. So it may well be at the barracks. Failing that we know where he is we can ask him."

Lucia rubs her temples.

"The runes on the swords are giving me headaches. I would suggest we confiscate these weapons as well, as they are capable of penetrating standard-issue Harmonium armor."
