"Who knows? Slaves, sacrifices, even hostages... children are often seen as useless mouths that must be fed, slow down the group. You heard their priest, they have no time to waste on those they think weak- even if those children are their future."
He follows the trail, trusting his men and the guide to know what to do. Noticing the glimmer of light he stops, and signalling two men to follow him he approaches the hut and quickly he checks the trapdoor.
Is there ice? Is there snow? If not it might have been used recently. The half orc knows that the falling snow will cover all tracks soon.
Looking around for something he could use to step on he approaches the window. A barrel perhaps or some crate? A saw horse or wood chopping block? If nothing is there he will be then one lifting up one of the Notaries, the halforc trusting in his strenght.
Sacrifice!

He simply nodded at that as they advanced.
There was a lush layer of snow on the trapdoor. But he noticed it was not as compact as older snow would have been and there was no icicles along the rim as were the case from the roof ends. It had been used in less then a days time.
He found several objects that would fit as a improvised ladder to get up to the window. A lose beam laying on the street haf buried in ice and covered with a round and fluffy layer of snow. Two barrels albeit they seemed half crushed and burnt.
Peeking over the sill. He sees a empty room with crude wooden boards as floor. Trought the slits in the boards a faint light seeps through. There is definatly something or someone at the lower level.
((And a listen please. ))

Noticing the light he gestures to one of the Notaries to watch the trapdoor. He does not yet enter the room, knowing well that his skills at stealth are nonexistant and his heavy, armoured body will make those boards creak.

He heard what he thought to be two diffrent voices. But too faintly to discern the words. He had to find some way to get closer even if he couldn't walk directly on the boards themselves. A larger opening was seen two and a half meteres inside at the center. The blue pillar of light protruding from it was what had revealed them. It was less than one and a half meter to the roof at the center and only a feet or two at the edges. Boars from the roof laid scattered at the interior floor.
The notary seal the door shut with a sturdy pole he manage to find.

He nods to the Notary, gestures for one of the others to follow him, and to the rest to surround the building.
Then he tries to lift himself up ar enugh to reach some of the boards to reinforce the floor, trying to work as silently as he can. If successful he will lift his bulk into the room, staying on all fours to better spread his weight.

The rest advance and disapeared from sight around both corners of the house. Main guard was on the trapdoor which they surrounded completly with a shieldwall and pointed halberds.
He manage to readjust the boards. It look sturdy enough to crawl on if he was careful. If the floor could fully support his weight without breaking under it was another matter. It did look sturdy enough but who knew when it was last walked over or how it looked on the other side. Hauling himself up without causing to much noise was probably the greatest risk. He felt a supporting hand under his sole.
((A last move silent please. ))

(( Move silently roll... -1 :P ))
The whirring of gears, the clanking of plates, the metal grinding over wood and the 400lb of armoured half orc trying to not to break through the woods is hard to miss. Hograth more worried about the structural integrity of the building than the stealthyness if his approach. He will try to carefully crawl and glide to the hole, trying to see what is happening in the room beneath.

((Ouch!))
The boards creak and squeal in protest. The sound dies out abrupty and ther is a blast. splitters flitter wildy around him and he fell. For a few moments all become black. He founds himself lying on his back on a broken wooden round table his shins dangling over the rim.
He sees the pair. One familiar being. Her long raven black hair and pale face with forebodingingly gleaming deep emerald eyes. Her face Beautiful and ageless, impossible to determine her age. Her black leather robe was ornated with black feathers close to her neck and her shoulders. It was the witch they had encountered when their ship was attacked.
The other figure wore harmonium armour. It was modified and twisted. He wore a long tattered scarf concealing most of his lower face whit his horned barbute helmet showing his nose and eyes but little else of his features were seen. His skin seemed scarlet and his eyes red-tinted. Holding a struggling young boy with his hand over his mouth while he kicked and squirmed in his grip.
The witch spoke first with her gnarled black staff that ended in a crows head in her hand. "Still alive. I had not expected you so soon."
The notary trailed his crossbow on the man holding the Child as he barely manged to hang on to the window that could now been seen from the bottom floor.

The fall drives the air from his lungs- but for some crazy reason he bursts out laughing- a painful, hoarse laugh. He looks up at them- aware that what is going on here will be heard by the troops outside- but also aware of his rather helpless and awkward position.
A quick glance at the boy the man holds and the Measure tenses, frowns- his helmet not fully hiding his features and reaction.
"But you expected us." He answers after this painful laugh faded, tries to get into a sitting position- slowly, to not provoke any violence. A quick glance up at the notary- but he tries to keep their attention on himself.

She drew her staf in a line above her and released a powerful feezing spell on the trapdoor slightly above them and it froze shut with large icicles wreathing their way to the floor as the grew rappidly.
"I know you. Never gives up once your mind is set. Had you reached the Xvimites before me your offer could have caused a major set back. If you reach the northern stronghold you may still."
She giggled eerily cruel at him. The man holding the child remained silent.
"Now I have a counter offer to make. I suggest you think carefully as I will only be giving you this once. Your men at Jacaal is lost but you can still save those with you here. I will take you back to Ortho all I ask in return is that you leave."
He remember the vison recorded in the orb. The rest wasn't killed, locked in a struggle but not lost.
He hear the men above pummeling at the trapdoor with their polearms frenetically. Some of the ice pillars cracking and breaking apart.
