Notary I Ta'Kan took her badge proudly. She then went to assemble a team, while she had a basic knowledge a medical specialist could probably be in handy. She then went to investigate the bodies at the mortuary, bringing her warrant along.

Notary II Eversong would gladly offer her assistance as a field medic and forensic specialist.

"I fear the bodies have been already cremated.", the woman says with a sad, forlorn voice.

"Many sensates and creatures from the upper planes insist on this treatment as the thought of being embalmed and perhaps animated is frightening them. Too great is their attachment to this emotions, too great their fears to lose them.

They are far from the truth.. but I digress. There are the reports from the autopsy and I will answer all questions you have truthfully."

She offers two notaries several musty and moldy folders bearing the Dustmen seals.

Inside they will find that in all bodies there have been traces of several drugs beeing found, some organs are damaged in unusual ways, the brains were showing severe bleeding.

The Dusties did not comment on this, only describing what they found in great detail...

Ny'leve kept a smile on her expression the whole way, even in the grim halls of the Mortuary... whether it was a legitimate smile to try and appear friendlier to the emotioneless Dustmen, or to keep herself in a good mood was anyone's guess.

She thoroughly studies the presented documents and listens to autopsy results, pondering hard and consulting a tiny notebook along the way.

Ny is quite sure that no spells have been involved but some of the drugs might have been of supernatural nature. The bodies show the signs of overdoses and also secondary effects that happen if drugs are mixed and it seems the drugs were both ingested and inhaled.
A few corpses also showed small blade wounds which could also might have used as a way to get certain drugs into the bodies.
She knows enough about herbs to identify some natural drugs that involve chewing or smoking some leafs but the most damage has been done by something else.

Some exotic, probably supernatural drug that ate away the organs and brain- perhaps Agony or Luhix or Dream Mist?

Shana carefully examined the autopsy report.

She is very sure that supernatural drugs have been involved- both from alchemical as well as natural sources.

Agony is what ate away the organs, Dream Mist might have turned this process into a vision so captivating that none of them even thought about breaking the drug induced, blissful trance.

In the end it was no single overdose but the most exotic mix of drugs that caused their death.

This mix would also be strong enough to incapacitate them- making them unable to help each other.

The report also mentions a few scars and tattoos and brands- most of upper plane heritage but some are of fiendish nature as well.

"So, we got potential drug overdoses and some unknown markings... what's your take?" Ny'leve turned to Shana, inquiring.

"We have to find who is able to sell this. Maybe it'll be a good start to return to the golden Bariaur and ask around without uniforms this time ?"

If Ny'leve accepted that's where the'll be headed.

From outside the Bariaur inn is like they know it- a busy but friendly place, those of celestial blood mingling with those without outside freely enjoying fine meals and beverages.

There are some subtle changes however- like the two Bariaur in golden chainmail standing at the entrance- and a bralani is just discussing somthing with a golden eyed woman who wears the symbol of the Sun of Pelor around her neck- her movements and stance betraying her to be a warrior.
