A Runner From The Prison Arrives

Shamus would utilize the full power of his archmage ability and ensure his squad was fully protected from the elements and influences of the mind. They would be fully protected from physical attacks (stoneskins, etc) and then they would breach the portal to the plane of fire to begin their task

((feel free to simply give a ‘here’s what happened’ summary when the IG parts have been completed if it keeps things simple. No need to run an event just for me and a bunch of NPC’s. Should the DM/EM in charge want any info about him (classes, etc), feel free to PM me))

Shamus' squad moves out into the Plane of Fire, and secures the location they were given.

Of course, its miserable, and blindingly hot. But they are warded, so it doesn't effect their capabilities.

It takes them a while to find the actual ritual site; in the end, it turns out to be half buried under the lava flow. The tips of three of the pillars are still visible, and there's a few charred bone fragments. The lava in this area has also taken on an odd blueish tint.

They find no cultists, but one witness - a small salamander, who calls himself Hagop, and persists in trying to sell the squad a variety of trinkets.

(((This obviously takes place a bit in the future so feel free to delay any response until others catch up)))

Shamus would make attempts to destroy the ritual site with the use of ice/water based spells. Once heÂ’d done what he could, he would ward the salamander from the cool temperatures of the city and haul it back to the Barracks, handing it over to the Officer of the holding cells to be held until Hograth was finished with it.

Unfortuantely I cannot give you any specific coordinates for the unmarked planes. I can, however, advise you on where the sites may be and how to find them.

So far the sites have been relatively close to the Sigilian gates. The only exception to this so far has been the Mineral plane site, which we had to reach via a portal in the Dao Mines near the Sigilian portal to the Earth Plane.

You can, however, make finding the sites easier by using the enemies own treasures against them. Mnemur scrolls will be attracted to both the sites and the enemies own scroll connections, even before they perform the ceremony. If you give your team leaders a scroll or two, they can take advantage of this pull and follow it like a compass.

Be warned; if the team finds that the ritual has been cast, the scroll holder should keep away from the site, as active altars pull the scrolls to them with a much stronger force.

I'm working on getting more specifics, and will alert you when I know more myself.

Sincerely,

Justicar Dace Andor

This is what Hograth needs and he quickly dispatches the rest of the squads, warded and protected against the effects of the planes to scout the portals and their surroundings.

They get the order to only scout- not to engage and to report back when they find something.

Hograth stays in the Barracks to coordinate the whole operation, the Half Orc nervous as he is usually used to take action himself.

After getting a destination, Chari collects her troops and goes to the elemental plane of Minerals and stops along the way by the Harmonum archives and collects some information that is relevant about the plane of minerals, anything pertaining to the native inhabitants and conditions. She gives the information to her second in command, with the intention of him knowing that information and quickly.

Once she arrives, she takes no chances, dispatching 3 units of 3 troops each, each one lead by a tracker. They are dispersed north, east and west from her location of the portal of their arrival. She advances slowly south with the main column, taking the lead and keeps 2 scouts scouting ahead of her and her troops.

They start to scout the area in earnest

The plane of mineral, is beautiful, but the natives are less than cooperative. The scouts encounter a few skirmishes with various elemental creatures before coming upon the ritual site.

There are five piles of rubble which might have once been pillars. A blue glow suffuses the room.

The crystals of the plane seem to have grown around the source of theglow, forming a tree-like structure.

After her scouts locate the ritual area, she and her troops secure the immediate area, sweeping for any inhabitants in a friendly manner if any are open to conversation. She writes a letter and has one of the scouts send it back to the barracks, to Mover Hograth

After recieving the information Hograth immediately dispatches a squad of the forces he held in reserve to assist Chari, making sure she gets some arcane and divine support as well.

Good work Measure,

please secure the area and find out what you can about this structure.
I suggest you keep a close eye on your troopers as there is a possibility of their minds being affected by the structure.

I will also inform our allies of your find, they might send reinforcements to aid you as well.

Then, staying true to his word he immediately informs Dace as well:

Justicar,

a scouting party under the comman of Harmonium Measure Chari encountered an anomaly on the Quasielemental Plane of Minerals.

We have the area secured, started our research and I hereby invite you to join our efforts.

He then forwards what he had learned to his superiors as well, then pours himself a cup of tea, trying to calm down and to enjoy his new position of coordinating officer- pert of the Half orc still missing to work in the field.

But of course he trusts his fellow troopers and knows about the important of his own task, knowing well he is just a minor wheel in the great machine of peace and security that the Harmonium is.

Sir,

after talking to Justicar Andor from the Mercikillers I have learned that a confrontation with the powers behind the scrolls- some cult of Kakos Kruphai- will happening soon.

Or allies will need our help and I hereby request troops to commit to this mission as well as Jammer transports (with possible Warship escorts) for the Triad troops to be able to attack and- if necessary- retreat quickly.

I will stay in contact with our allies and will keep coordinating our operations on the inner planes as every successful strike there might buy is more time and also will improve troop morale as we have been on the defence for so long.
