He read through the recent entries carefully and curiously, going through them a couple of times over. Muttering to himself "Who is Mass?" reading further on "Pipsquek seems to be my means to find Nero, time to locate it." murmured once more. He shut the book, then confiscated it as well. It was time to go make a report.

He pocketed the amber stone as he still wasn't quite certain where it might prove useful or whether it is important to the case. Motive of her death and the massacre was uncertain still, while speculation existed that was really all that was evident.

Having read the journal he indeed attempted to use the crystal ball, but as it appeared to not do much he'd leave it be.

Lastly he makes sure things are roughly in same order besides the objects he just confiscated and made his way to the exit, if there was no incidence coming up he'd retrieve the vial of curing light wounds on his way out and exit the building. However to ensure the security he applies Arcane Lock spell murmuring in draconic the instruction, the dragon headed staffs maw opened and emited the spell to improve the lock. ((Just let me know if you don't want me to use PnP spell and we can disregard it, it's not surefire way to keep people out, just something he'd do to ensure no other easy entrances))

Presuming no incidence would come on the way back to barracks where he'd register all the confiscated items and write next portion of his report.
wrote:*Applied with the report is the journal of Xessiryx (portion removed that notes about Pipsqueks special quality), Fated, Dustmen and Godsmen faction badge, elliptic amber gem as well as the book Suspected Anarchist Cell Rosters*

I have investigated the house of Xessiryx in <date>. The place feels like it wasn't much lived in and used more as an hideout. Hidden in matress I found 3 faction badges which I have applied as confiscated evidence and suggest that they are returned to the respective owner faction after investigation is over.

Within the vast collection of tomes I found one called Suspected Anarchist Cell Rosters which may or may not prove useful, to this specific investigation it is unlikely to prove useful. I suggest anarchist investigators to take the contents with a grain of salt as it may not be reliable. *A note would be passed to anyone inspecting anarchist cells at the moment regarding its existence also*

I found information about Kaori Suzune, of whom I found open criminal profiling available. It would seem that there is much planning to get her freed and based on this information brokers journal, they may be on verge of doing something. I will pass information and copy of contents regarding it to the Mercykillers in hopes that we can avert her escape.

Last piece of evidence is a an elliptical amber stone that causes me to fall dizzy, I am uncertain of its nature, but until it is understood it is best to be kept in the security of barracks.

Reading the journal of Xessiryx revealed few other things. First is that Nero has been looking for something or someone called "Mass" and he is hiding a "friend" that Xessiryx wished to find and did find. Her associate appears to be Nyrravelle among the golem. Second is that a monodrone called Pipsquek may know how to find Nero or Nyrravelle. The journal insisted of its capability to do so.

Protector XIV appears to be deeply involved into matters by Godsmen political pull, they wish to retain it intact. A possible theory of its current location besides mazes is success of Godsmen attaining it intact. That however is merely speculation and no evidences exist. It would appear to be connected to recent crimes in the Merkhant Warehouse as well as Guvner Directive-9.

I will try to find Nero or Nyrravelle and find more information.

He had ripped off the portion from the journal that noted about Pipsqueks capability to find anyone. Despite being servant of law, ultimately it might be too much power in the hands of Harmonium he rationaled. He folded the piece neatly and placed it in his robes inner pocket. Otherwise it might get into the wrong hands of finding protected witnesses or other people.

Of the portions regarding Kaori Suzune he made copies and then wrote a letter to the Mercykillers to warn them of impending escape plan.

I, Milley Krown, have come into possession of evidences impending escape plan of a prisoner Kaori Suzune. The information comes from journal of darkmonger called Xessiryx. I quote to you the notations:

"I am heading to meet the informant at the Bottle and Jug, to barter for more darks pertaining to Kaori SuzumeÂ’s escape plan."

"AamaliaÂ’s package was delivered, and Pipsqueak returned to the bazaar with her payment which I promptly forwarded to ShazzÂ’fk as payment for the dark pertaining to Kaori SuzumeÂ’s plan to escape the Prison"

Exact nature of the escape plan is uncertain, but I have no doubt of the validity of the source, urge extra caution with the moderation. I might also suggest relocating her to different cell to deem territorial plans irrelevant. Also ensuring only known members are on guard shift. However I am in no position to decide of your actions.

Lady's Grace,

Once having done most of the work, he'd read further on the journal in the safety of Harmonium barracks. Just to make sure he'd not miss anything crucial.

((just posting it here for now, since I'm not sure if he's getting intercepted on the way!))

As Milley vicariously saw the world through the GenasiÂ’s eyes, he quickly learned that she was, above all, an opportunist. There was no indication of loyalty to faction, friend, or philosophy. He read through instances of her withholding information from Mercykiller Justicar to help a Sinker escape punishment. A few weeks before that, she misinformed a group of Revolutionaries looking to assassinate a Guvner pushing for an important piece of legislation. A few entries caught Milley's attention:
_______

..Approximately 2 years ago..

I had an interesting meeting with the Merkhant known as Jach Sensbane today. I fully expected him to ask for trade secrets regarding one of his biggest competitors in the weapons enchantment market in Tradegate, Lord Thezimanthus – who also happens to be Merkhant. I gave him the information he asked for pertaining to Thezimanthus, withholding only what Thezimanthus paid me to withhold. Sensbane suspected that I wasn’t giving him the whole story, and offered me privileged regarding Merkhant operations in the Lady’s Ward in exchange for the Real Darks regard Thezimanthus’s business. I obliged.
What was unexpected, was what he requested next. He gave me instructions on how to activate a “kill-switch” which would end his life remotely (the details of which he did not delve into). He then handed me a special ring which would enable me to do so. He gave me the second largest sum of jink I have ever been offered to keep this an absolute secret. I was instructed to activate it if there were ever a string of serial arsons in the Hive. He explained that his family and friends would never oblige to using this kill switch (they would likely try to destroy it), and it couldn’t fall into the hands of his enemies - so he gave it to a neutral third party: me. Due to the jink offered as well as the promise of secrets regarding the Merkhant sect, I will honor my part of the agreement and not inform a soul.
_______

..Some time later.....

There have been a few tenements in the Hive which have burned down in a similar fashion. I am curious if these are the serial arsons Jach Sensbane, the Merkhant, spoke to me about several months earlier. Perhaps I will wait for one more before activating the kill switch.

_______

...The very same day....

In a meeting with Shemeska the Maurauder, I have been instructed to not activate the kill switch. I cannot fathom how the Maurauder was privy to this kill-switch – the private meeting between Sensbane and I was in an antimagic zone. There was no way she could have been magically scrying, she must have found out some other way. Strangely enough, she did not ask for it personally, entrusting me to keep it safe.
To not kill Sensbane, Shemeska has offered me the largest sum of jink I have ever been offered – approximately three times that what Sensbane offered me. Even if I wasn’t offered a single stinger, I would have obliged. The consequences for disobeying a direct “request” from Shemeska will cost me more than mere jink.
