A Mercyless Arrow

Gordon looks back at the slain Illithid, keeping his hound nearby as he waits for the Hardheads to arrive.

He had no business with those chasing the Drow and the fate of the gem.... later. It has time.

The Illithid on the other hand will soon start to rot. He regrets a bit that the dark elf took that arrow but he still got a good look at it, enough to describe it with some accuracy.

So he waits, fondling his hound's head between the beast's ears absentmindedly...

Losing the gem was bitter loss. Bitter, but acceptable.

Sillxhistraja never trusted anyone with anything. She expected the same from the rest.

She did not trust that even the angels of the Celestia would do their job in whatever they will do with the cursed gem.

But at least it was done. Now she was just a greedy lowlife with no care for goodness in the eyes of of witnesses. This reputation should be useful for her to do her business in cage and then end this charade.

There was, however, question of the murder and the implications it brought.

For all she knew, it could be unknown assassin just using the famed ammunition. The same way she could sell the Mercykiller armor she found in the sewers to interested faces.


Except that it was facade. She could not stomach the thought of doing this.


She was not a smith, but she knew that Fated had enough of such. She just needed to find the best of them.

[*Midnight]

The Harmonium arrive and secure the crime scene. Gordon is asked to attend The Barracks for questioning but is not arrested. Yet.

Sil finds a tiefling named Xann amongst the fated, whilst not a smith he is a prospector of some fame. He examines the arrowhead and whistles.

"Axiomatic brass. Given the type I would say from one of the lower planes of law. Gehenna, Baator or Acheron I would say."

Gordon follows, then waits patiently to be questioned.

Should he be asked about what happened he will answer honestly, also mentioning the gem that was taken from the Illithid and what he knows about its fate. Of course he will also tell them about the assassis tracks he found.

There was an absent-minded tilt of head, then a sheepish smile when tiefling commented on the arrow presented.

"I think you struck me with light in face. What is that supposed to mean?"

[*Midnight]

Gordon is sat down they listen to his account.

"Who were the others with you? Tell us more about the gem and the tracks."

"I'll try and explain another way."

Xann smiles

"If I find a vein of brass like that somewhere I can sell it and I am set for a year or two. Most berks can't afford to have a blade made of it, let alone a dozen or so arrows that they will probably lose. They are also probably lawful bashers, you show this stuff to an Eldarin a Fey or a Tanar'ri you'll likely give them a headache. Who ever fired this has deep pockets and a lawful out look, means the mark here is probably correct. They where probably in the red death."

Gordon dod not hear many names but he tries to give a good description of the other members of the group.

The gem he describes in great detail- knowing that it is something that might be critical to his plans.

He is a bit embaressed as he tells about the tracks- losing them early was not really something he is proud of. Yet he gives the direction in which the fugitive was heading and also tells the Hardheads where he lost the tracks.

"Well, this is what I know. Its not much I fear but if you need help in tracking down this gem or the assassin I'll help you.", he then says, ruffling the fur on the side of his dog who is resting under the table.


"Ah... one last thing. Two of your own numbers encountered our group. They were in the Lower Ward, trying to arrest some Slaad. He was not able to pay his fine so someone of the group did it. Perhaps you can question them for more details..... and the Slaad perhaps as well."

"Don't count on it yet, Xann. " The woman replied. She took the arrow again, then thanked the prospector for consultation, quickly running off before he could stick a label on his words.

She got the opinion of expert. Now, maybe a diviner could find something more about the assassin?

[*Midnight]

They take notes from what Gordon says and he is kept in the interview room for roughly half an hour. Presumably after they have realized that the arrow was fired from outside of the building he is released without charge.

The cage is full of spellslingers. Many will be diviners. Sil would have noticed most congregate either at Minerva's for scrolls or the lab in The Lower Ward to use the enchanting apparatus.

Gordon leaves, making sure his dog is following him. After enjoying some rather overpriced tea and sandwich on one of the cafes on the Lady's Ward he makes his way through the lower ward towards the hive.

Ducking into the Shadows he shifts into his full wolf form, trying to make his way to the Undersigil village.
