Campaign: The Veyl And The Shaper

It was a dark night in the darkest depths of the blackest sanctuary. Where this building was located none could tell nor could any scry its location.
There were voices whispering and chanting in the dark, several figures stood side by side. Before them a single woman screaming and shaking as she was bound and gagged to an altar.
Blades were risen and lowered in one swift motion and the screaming became silent. The whispers ended and the blood ran thick on the altar.
The blood drizzled into a gutter, and along the cobblestone to illuminate a symbol of a single letter wrapped in a circular disk.

The Shaper stood before his cadre and nodded to his peers.
"The signs shall form the shape." He spoke, the others nodded and repeated the same line in a cultistic chorus.
"Brothers, Sisters and most importantly, Shapers. We are at war." His stone darkened as they looked to each other, whispering audiable comments before he rose a hand to silence them.
"The city of doors is not our goal, but there are some who within these walls of the lady of pain, would deprive us of our divine right. We are what the Sign of One was not, we are what the multiverse fears most save the lady of pain herself. We, are the Architects of the Multiverse. We build this world with our thoughts, and, our actions."
The cultistic cadre knelt before their dark master as he continued his speech.
"Darius the Veyl see's too late what she should have crafted before. She saw in you potential that never fathomed. I have nothing but respect for the allseeing eye of Sigil, if it was not for the fact she cowers from us.
She, who seeks change, has run from it. She, who would claim the multiverse is shapen by the power of will alone, cannot shape us! No brothers and sisters, we are a forge fired to perfection, we will craft the world we have longed to build!"
There was a cultistic howling of applause and agreement. Once again, The Shaper lifted his hand to silence the masses.
"You are chosen today to make a difference. The Sign of One must die. Prepair yourselves, brothers, and sisters, for we will end this false prophet and her unholy beliefs. We will bring TRUE change where she believed in metaphorical philosophy. We, will make reality of dreams."
Blades were being forged as he spoke. Hammers slamming tirelessly into furnace and cooled with blood and sweat as slaves worked hard to build weapons and armour. Some were even tested on their crafters to see how efficent their cutting potential was.
"The Civil War, has begun. The Sign of One, has ended! It is time for us to rise, brothers and sisters, IT IS TIME TO SHAPE THE SIGNERS, FOREVER!"
The roar of applause reached its cricendo peak. The man stood upon the fallen corpse of the sacrificed woman and gazed down, speaking softly in conclusion:
"When we are done with the Sign of One. We can finally begin to rebuild what was lost. A golden age of change and reformation. We can finally eliminate the enemies of the city. One, by, one. But first, we must destroy our ultimate enemy...
Prepair yourselves for war, brothers and sisters...
For a bloody day, waits, for Sigil."
Atop the highest peak of the city the lone Veyl watched her dreams culiminate into nightmares, she gasped and gripped her chest.
She lay back into the seat of her private chambers as Factor Sarazh stood beside her and lay a hand on her shoulder supportivly.
"You have told them now. We can finally begin to make prepairations. Do not look so guilty or shamed." The elder woman smiled like the nurturing grandmother to a lost child.
Darius stared at the floor with confusion. Her eyes lost in the moment she clenched her fist. "It is not shame I feel, but fear." She replied.
"You have nothing to fear, the city loves you, you maintain the diplomacy of the factions and care deeply for their wellbeing. If anyone can bring the unity of all to the city, it is you, Darius the Veyl." A cup of tea was poured as her Factor provided it to the lost woman.
She took a deep sip and stared out over the city itself. From the magnificent golden furbish of the Hall of Records to the day to day goings of the Bazaar, it was a beautiful city in its own way. But what she had done would destroy it, between her thoughts and his actions, something would have to suffer.
She closed her eyes and sighed.
"Have the other Faction Leaders summoned. We must prepair..."
Factor Sarazh nodded softly and turned, making step down the tower spire in prepairation to send runners to the other Factols.
Darius tapped the throne of her chamber and murmured one final sentance to herself:
"We must prepair, for war."
