((This is a storyline for a group of people that joined into the story in THIS THREAD and no other character is able to interact since they do not yet exist as will come apparent through this storyline quite soon. If inspired by the thought, late comers may still take their last quick opportunity to join this if contacting me with haste.))

Sigil three thousand years ago...
[size0]//Current year is 128 Hashkars Reign, this story belongs to year -2872

What isn't like in year 128 Hashkars Reign...

Factions have and will not exist for another couple millenias these philosophies while may exist in fashion or another are not existing power groups. Large number of deities from several beliefs exist and other deities have not even been born. Wards of Sigil as well as structures are majorly different, only ward that exists to the date is The Ladys Ward, street levels are roughly lower and the Under Sigil while exists, is mostly sewers during these times unlike in modern time when it had been majorly street levels rising and old city being sunk underneath expansions.

How is year 72 of Aoskars Rise

The Cage is divided to four major wards one of which has only recently been acknowledged as the Aoskars Ward at the heart of the ward lingers The Great Temple of Doors, another is the Ladys Ward among its side, two other prominent ones are the Lost Ward and Gelt Ward, an argued existence of fifth ward is a tiny one called the Skags ward. The Ladys Ward exists in its usual place, along the rough position of the Lower Ward and portions of the Hive Ward exists the Aoskars ward. Expanding from there in the borders is the Skags Ward full of touts, bloods and information brokers as well as known for its high amount of Knights of the Post. Continuing from this tiny ward is the Lost Ward a place of largest concentration of poverty from where it continues all the way to Gelts Ward in place of Clerks Ward of today.

The year is known as 72 of Aoskars Rise, the tag for it was chosen only quite recently as a starting of new era. Indeed there is a strong sense of new era rising with the peak of Aoskar, the god of portals power a frequent murmuring about impending shaking off of her Serenity can be heard in the streets. It is well received around the streets by majority even, although it is not rare that the most vocal opposition is still casted to Mazes and weekly flayings aren't uncommon either however unlike what is expected result this only rallies more under the banner of Aoskars faith.

Aoskar is known as a deity unjudging supporter of exploration and open beliefs, through him have come philosophies such as Rule of Threes and Belief Shaping greatly more popular, in a sense revolutionary and major philosophies argued by only few. The opening of portals has opened avenues to public and great many planes to explore with ease for every planewalkers. It is without any argument the most prominent religion over any within the Sigil and perhaps even the Outlands. To some he stands as paragon for reasons of having been able to grow successful despite the rumors of his origin plane having become destroyed, as such he has become only deity allowed free access inside the Cage.

However there are other power groups as well, not casting aside in clear power is still her Serenity and the Dabus that keep order of the streets to great extent. Though the rebuses makes their communication obscure to many species have they kept quietly the rule and order, not quite in fashion a Primer would be familiar with, but the city has kept a balance between order, chaos, good and evil none the less. Those that step too far have been made an example through simple cruelty and brutality.

Another group is the Bloods Associates which is a meritocratic group of intellectuals believing to the philosophies of talents being importance of multiverse. Then there is the Jinxes which is group believing to the financial supremacy, power is not physical as much as distribution of capabilities of finances and economics.

The Story Begins...

A group of Aoskar followers has been assigned by a high priest of the Lord of Portals to explore an old dungeon in the name of exploration within the heart of the Outlands Spire, mainly there appears to be a curious anomaly that is yet unexplored that has caught the eye of the temple. It is not unknown that the closer you go to the Spire the weaker any magic grows, but within this place has been discovered a pocket where the magic indeed does work against all expectations and the temple wishes to know why... little so far is known, but the group has traveled from the gate towns for a week on a wagon toward the Spire, curiously enough initially all of them could feel the magic dissipating from them and to most spell slingers it might've seemed disheartening...

But as they proceeded further they could feel the memory of spells and the calling of deities rush in suddenly from an undistinctive invisible barrier, having reached the bottom of the Spire, towering to the skies in the far reaches and to the sides filling the entire horizon in its enormous size. Somewhere far above could be seen the Cage to fight against the concepts of infinity and comprehension. Only direction of possible source appears to be a single cave of this mountain fading to the dark depths in slow descent wide enough initially for four to go side by side...

There's one open wagon driven by two horses with which is a single driver that was recruited by the temple to deliver you here. He's not adventurer or traveler sort as much as driver. There's food enough for one and half weeks, the return trip should last one week. There's also camping supplies brought would such be required...

The temple has also naturally provided great rewards for the discovery.

((And here's where players come in. These are the things you'll want to fill:

Code: Select all

<What would your character want to do currently? If chit chat a plan, or try to establish leadership, go ahead.> --------------------------------------------- Name: <the one that would've been told to other group members> Description: <appearance/species/demeanor/posture and the likes> Relations: <if somehow clearly related to other members, then whom?>
I won't require rolls this time, mostly I will be going by class basis whether or not you'll know some things, since otherwise it'll be hugely time consuming. Though you do have limited supplies and spells and there will be obstructions along the way that might be potentially dangerous. ;) So you'll want to be somewhat cautious as a tip.

Initial story will be a small-ish adventure before the story progresses so you'll get to learn party members better via action.))

They all stood in front of the cave. Compared to the sheer logic-defying vastness of the Spire itself it felt small but by all reasonable measurements it was large enough to let them all walk within shoulder-to-shoulder. A foreboding atmosphere wafted heavily from the cavern, filling the air with nigh palpable anticipation and dread.

Suddenly standing at the back of the Doctor, the stern woman that had been previously just beneath the notice of all spoke up, as if she'd been there all along "Can you feel that, Doc?" she murmured at the perceptible rush of arcane power filling her the moment they crossed the unseen barrier. It was as if they'd pushed through an invisible threshold into an entirely different world.

Her hand reached up to pull her sunglasses off, folding them and leaving the pair in one of her shirt's pockets. She was dressed impeccably in a style highly reminiscent of some of the classier of Sigil's joints. Flipping her ponytail behind her head, she met the Doctor's eyes, not waiting for further word before she spoke up again "What do you want to do?"

---------------------------------------------
Name: Ms. Vasquez

Description: Vasquez is a very tall and lanky woman, her build is perhaps too lithe to be healthy, seeming underweight and brittle. Despite that her skin still holds a faint tan and her dark blonde hair is held in a practical ponytail. Her eyes are a vivid black which often takes on a deadpan expression. She often affects a polite demeanor although she's quite capable of sarcasm and at times even outright emotional outbursts. She favors a variety of clean and well-cut suits of various shades of white and blue with frills around the sleeves. Her voice is hoarse and crackling as if her vocal cords have been damaged in the past. Careful observation hints at the faint discolored outline of numerous scars on her exposed skin as if she had previously been cut apart and then haphazardly put back together. By all accounts she is a female wood elf, although her ears are particularly long for her kind.

She carries no readily visible possession on her person aside from a large backpack and a sturdy satchel over her shoulder. She doesn't smile much.

Relations: It is fairly obvious that she is an associate or perhaps employee of the Doctor.

As the threshold of the dead magic zone was crossed, and his powers returned to him, he smiled inwardly. Despite his cool, calm attitude, almost indifferent, having his powers beyond reach was more than a little unnerving. It was like something right out of the corner of his eyes, something slipping through his fingers...a fading memory, so close yet so far away, that his mind could not bring back despite it's being vital, all-important. He felt the memory of his wards and incantations rush back to him, and he touched his cowl slightly, gently pulling it lower over his eyes.
He turned towards her and saw the relief in her emerald eyes too. They had arrived. As he stepped out of the wagon in a whirl of black velvet, he whispered gently: "How did you like the travel, my dear?"

---------------------------------------------
Name: Kor'vain
Description: Tall and very slender for his race, he lacks the typical golden complexion of the Sun Elves, having instead a very pale skin and amethyst eyes. These light colors are in stark contrast with his ample, black velvet robes, swirling as he moves with rare elegance. Platinum runes in the arcane language of magic are engraved on his cloak and cowl, a hint of his competence on the matter. His purple gaze seems mostly absent, as if he were perpetually bored, and he definitely shows the signs of the legendary arrogance of his people. He carries no weapon, nor heavy loads of sort.
Relations: It appears evident that he is somehow related to the fiery-haired, emerald-eyed elven female traveling with him (and the group).

The tall elf opens a new sketchbook and with a few strokes of his enchanted Vrock Feather quill he paints a picture of the cave, the surroundings and soon starts to fill in his usual notes and descriptions.

His access to magic has never been strong, just a few cantrips and minor blessings to make his day to day life easier but he still welcomes their return, a smile crossing his face.

He frowns as his handwriting is spoiled by a sudden gust of wind that ruffles the pages, a hint of anger over this flickering in his eyes. Closing it with a clap he walks back to the wagon, adressing the driver slipping a few coins into his hand after giving him a heavy bundle from his backpack.

"Make sure my other sketchbooks arrive at the temple unspoiled. It would be a pity if all the knowledge is lost."

*************************************

Name: Falheen Thengal

Description:

Falheen is a tall gold elf with coppery eyes and hair.
His manners and the way he speaks show his education and upbringing as the son of wealthy parents.
Dressing in a rather practical manner when in the field he is still taking care of himself, working out on slow days during the journey and never turning down an opportunity to perfect his sword fighting skills.
He sees this as a compensation for the long hours spent studying books about many topics, the more odscure the conent the better.
Now wearing a leather coat over a woolen shirt and trousers he always keeps his backpack nearby. A small shield and a unstrung bow with a couple of arrows are on his back, his arming sword sits on his hip. A knife, more a tool than a weapon is hidden in his right boot.

Relations:

He is known to share his books with the group's warlock and sometimes they can be seen studying or discussing the tomes' contents.

How long has it been since they left the gates? A week? More or less... She did not like wagons that much. She never had. She rather walked,...her feet touching the ground, making contact with the rocks, grass, sand or dirt beneath her.

But what was more troublesome to her was the absence of her power. No fire...nothing burning inside her. Despite being in a crowded wagon, she felt awfully alone without her magic.

She looked up, her eyes moving over his black robes towards his face, only partly visible in the depths of his cowl.
He seemed calm, steady... but she knew he felt the loss too and that it would be highly unpleasant for him.

After a while she felt the power rush back to her and she could not help but whisper some words in prayer. Finally...whole again. Complete...

The wagon came to a halt. He helped her out the wagon and asked her: 'So, how did you like the travel my dear?'

She looked at him with a smile before answering:

'as well as can be expected of a wagonride.'

Her smile widens as her feet touch the solit ground beneath her.

---------------------------------------------
Name: Sha'Lirr

Description: She is relatively small, slender female sun elf, moving with the fluid grace typical of her people.

She is usually hooded, an ample cloak around her. The garments seem to be of fine quality, yet suited for being outdoors.

When not cowled, she carries her long red hair loose over her shoulders. When it is left hanging it seems to float in a gentle breeze (absent, most of the times), bright like a bonfire when a lightsource illuminates it.

Her emerald eyes are ever watchful, and calm like a silent grove.

Relations: Aquainted to Kor'vain>

In the Back of the Small Wagon was the small Red haired half-ling. he hadn't Spoke much during the trip and just seemed to fiddle with small objects under his cloak.
When the Wagon came to a stop he gathered a belt Covered in pouches and slid free From the Back with a little trouble. His eyes curiously gazing at the Caves in the distance much like a child would a bit of candy.

The little that was visible for them from the outside was slow descent to the darkness, initially only that the cave curved rightwards from their direction, too dark to see far although species with low light vision could adjust their eyes to view the shapes better. It seemed fully natural cave thus far, though the initial entrance had a sand floor tile to it the further in it went it seemed to dissipate to that of a moist, lightly mossy floor texture. A dripping water could be heard echoing in a steady rhythm deep within.

Outside the entrance was a flat space for a roughly hundred foot diameter and beyond that a mixture of grass, tree and rocky sand terrain, bordering a transition of dull desert and vegetable lands.

The large man after a moment of hesitation took the offered coins, nodding and flashing a toothy grin and revealing not so graciously about the lack of several of them. He had a rather humble attire over him though the wagon seemed to be taken care of properly he himself was a rugged and had a feel of one that might be considered a hermit. In-fact he hadn't said a thing over the journey and even now remained quiet.

The driver which was only addressed as Hew, mostly due to a tattoo at his wrist visible in the high-sleeved shirt, took the sketchbooks, wrapped an unused cloth around them, and around that a placed a rough metal kettle to cover it entirely. Patted over his heart with right hands fist and nodded firmly.

That said he'd help to unload the supplies, he however wasn't leaving at the time and rather remain by the wagon and minor camp, the food supplies wouldn't last long enough if he left midterm and returned after all.

She moved forward to get a better look at the surroundings, observing as soon as her eyes adapted a bit at the darkness.

Still watching in the distance, she speaks up.

'we should scout ahead'

"Dont tell me you are afraid of the dark" he commented sarcastically, to no one in particular, as he walked onward, darkness enveloping him, carefully yet with confidence as a black bat flies ahead of him. "We only have supplies for a few days, so...agreed, we have to move."
He moves past the sand towards the mossy floor, examining the quality of the moss covering it, the bat scouting ahead.
