The Razorvine Embrace

this morning , when a new daylight shone upon the cage and good old khazeet wake up in his bar, as he was sleeping in the bedroll he keeps behind his counter, and the first customers were strutting toward his establishment for the starting drink, they all were slightly bothered in finding the entrance blocked with a fresh young wall of razorwine , apparently sprout during the night.
the vine was cut down easily, causing at worst just a few, harmless, scratches. sure not much of a danger, compared to what khazeet sells

Khazeet didn't appear to mind much, leaning on the counter after hearing of the ruckus by the entrance and watching in amusement of folks wondering. However the smirk quickly vanished with the appearance of the dabus that proceeded to cut the razorvine. While his entertainment getting cut right before him, the efreeti decided it was for the best to not make unnecessary remarks of her servants and quickly merely produced the usual service for others that hadn't dared to rush their way through the vines... or jump over the low wall!

((cool creative usage of them by the way ;) ))

Rumors regarding razorvine

some time after khazeet's bar 's entrance was found obstructed by the vines, the same happened to the foul old spirit's inn. A few branches crawling up the stairs. Nothing really problematic. Those promptly cut, the entrance was freed again

some new plants of razorvine discretly made their appearance in the bazar during last night , crawling up some pillar and lamp-posts. Not an unusual sight, the vines being the only plant really growing in the cage. Someone may complain about the dabuses being lazy or somesuch.
But, if anyone would head from bazar toward the hive they'd had met some more of those, partially blocking two or three alley ways.
Would they had taken a detour instead of cutting their way through, they'd had missed the corpse of a woman laying in one of those alleys, right in front of the half opened entrance door of a house, entangled in the bushes and scratched so much she had died of blood loss. But now said alley is cleared and the woman is no more laying there.
Some of the other sprouts of razorwine would have grown in proximity of the Bottle and Jug pub, then thinning away in their usual density.
All of those bushes are probably removed by now

Charae had indeed noticed the abundance of razorvine growing in the streets of the Clerk's Ward. She shook her head, detouring around most of it. "Seems the Dabus are getting complacent these days."

to cagers it'd seems the dabuses are getting lazy, or being employed or distracted elsewhere onto other matters, for some other roots of razorvines have sprouted about in the city. not an invasion of course, just some plants where before it was clear, but enough to cover lamps, pillars, windows, doors and force some merchants, workers and passers by to take detours ,and bashers and guards to clear the pathways themselves, earning scratches and sharing curses.

Auric notes the increase in razorvine "activity" with some degree of alarm. On more than one occasion he checks the narrow alleyway where the unfortunate woman found herself trapped amongst the vines, to make sure her doorway is still clear. A few vines getting too close for comfort are removed by Auric's hand-blade skills.

Occasionally he ponders working as a razorvine-remover himself, but as a long term career he doubts it will take off. Certainly work will dry up once the dabus return from whatever they've been doing.

In the meantime, though...it might be worth a thought. Honest pay for honest work is always useful.

Charae grimaced. The dark elf's cloak was snagged by one of the many thorns covering the razorvine. "Goddess, I hate these plants!" She muttered, taking her damaged cloak back to the Fest Hall.

Lucelle 'Blackthumbs' Vand'hovar, a most peculiar elf and scourge of gardens everywhere (Or at least her own in the Lady's Ward) frowns as the hem of her robe catches upon a leaf and tears. She leans down, looking upon the offending vine with distaste. She sighs, moving her hands in a complicated series of gestures.
Silver-white motes dance from her fingertips and twirl in tight spirals down towards the ruined fabric, causing each stitch to renew its' embrace with its' corresponding thread.
The elf then looks upon the black, vein-ridden vine and reaches out, careful to avoid the ebon leaves - razor edged all! - and clasps her delicate fingers about the plant.
A sudden burst of frost leaves the plant shrivelled and coiled, its' leaves brittle and frozen. She gives the offending flora a solid rap with her staff, shattering it upon the worn cobblestones.

"Humph!"

Christopher Cryptbane, former Kelemvorian, now holy knight serving the Harmonium sighs and he opens the door to the barracks and steps out, greeting by the annoying scraping noises of razorvine thorns on his plate mail. He growls and with a few swings of his mighty blade severs the troublesome plant into many peices. He sighs as he heads to his assigned patrol route, stopping to cut up as many razorvine sprouts as he can find on the way.

(EM)The razorvines experience a sudden growth spurt in the market place, popping up in two dozen places in the course of a half an hour. These plants are becoming more and more annoying!.

The recently returned lich, having received word of the razorvine growing wild made a point to go look at the plant.

"Now this is interesting." Chardon said to himself. "Now to find out if the razorvine is growing faster or something is distracting the dabus from keeping it back. At any rate...at least this will keep the golem busy for some time." Looking at the iron construct "Keep the vines clear in the bazaar."

((OOC: I've been away for a while. Is Ozzmandias active or do I need to cover both parts?))
