Prior to her trip to Thantos, Vara is seen scouting out buildings for sale in the Lower Ward area. After several days, she spots a couple of buildings that would cater to her and Verdant's needs quite nicely.
She marks their locations down on a sheet of paper and gives it to a air elemental that delivers the locations to Verdant. In the note, she says she is quite fond of one location that is located across from a no nonsense bar, where the local thugs and toughs hang out.
The air elemental also delivers a satchel filled with documents and research notes Vara found in the library regarding holy weapons, their construction, and most important of all, what commonly known ingredients go into their construction.

Verdant accepts the note, reading it over. He finds Vara's preference odd but sees no reason not to go with it.
The satchel he peeks in at first, but with an act of will manages to keep himself from metaphorically devouring upon seeing its contents.
"First things first," he mutters to himself, making the trip to purchase the selected building.

*after some time sitting wuhi finally arrives at the next most logical idea: going to vara herself to inquire. but where does she lives? she doesn't know! so she'll try at the foundry first*

Verdant, having acquired the building in question, returns to the foundry himself in what ironically are similar reasons to Wuhi, to talk to Vara. And of course, if she's not there, he'll be reading the notes she's sent to him...

When Wuhi and Verdant get to the Foundry, one of the Factols lets them know where Vara lives but also tells her that she is away at the moment and well be back in a couple of days.
The notes are mostly the spell abilities of the varies holy swords available in Sigil. A couple of good aligned smiths are mentioned and their insights are listed. There is also a brief history of the blades as far as common knowledge is concerned, a lot of the notes are taken from the tomes in the Library.
- It seems that cold iron is used as a base to build upon.
-Can only be constructed by good alignment folks and they must have the ability to cause a holy smite.
-Initial cost to construct will run about 120,000 to 300,000 jink.
-Major enchantments on the blade will vary depending on the smith and they can be placed on the sword one at a time.
-Mostly constructed by Angels in the upper planes, ask angels in Sigil what they know?
-Most but not all require the sacrifice of a paladin or an equally as powerful good natured creature such as a silver or gold dragon. Not all swords are sentient however.

if wuhi gets to read the notes she'd be puzzled at the first point, and the last of course, and shots verdant a sorry look as if he's gonna be the one sacrificed for the eventual new holy sword that will eventually be forged out of this story. she also pats his shoulder in sympathy, sighing a bit

Verdant on meeting Wuhi does indeed greet her and shares the notes Vara provided. He is somewhat upset at the last item though, it makes him reconsider their course. If such a being had to give its life to make one of these items, would dismantling it really be a good thing?
That aside, Verdant reveals he has several items similarly blessed but not of the same variety as the paladin blades. He shows them to Wuhi: a blessed katana, rapier, and bastard sword.
"Personally, I'm hoping simply to replicate the enchantment on these weapons. That along would be a huge breakthrough in my mind. I've got nothing against aiming higher though," he says with a chuckle.

Not bothering to rest, Vara unpacks what she took with her and goes out to find both Wuhi and Verdant.
