Sigil: City of Doors

In an office in The City Court Caterina reads a copy of SIGIS over her morning cup of tea. She folds up the paper and places it in the back of her desk drawer. At the end of day she takes the advertisment as she leaves the court. She opens a black umbrella against Sigils acidic rain. She makes no effort to seek out Mishka whom the letter mentions. She does not deal with mercenaries or common soilders. She would not have even have given the article a second thought were it not for the name on the letter. She heads through the Lady's Ward to a house she has visited before. The home of Sir Kennth Locke. She knocks on the door and waits

The door is opened by an eldery human, well into his twilight years. His grey beard, down to his washed out robes with signets gives the impression that while old, this man may be older than it appears. His eyes are clear and lack the fog of age that some acquire. He leans on a staff that occasionally crackles with the tell tale signs of minor magic.

He smiles warmly seeing Caterina and opens the door a little wider as he motions inside.

"Oh dear me. A pretty young woman to pay an old man a visit. Please come inside if you like, to what do I owe the pleasure of your appearance young lady?"

Caterina smiles politely and steps inside.

"Thank you, but save the pleasantries you may not feel so well disposed to me once I am finished."

She takes a seat if one is offered.

"I am here about the advertisement you placed in SIGIS. Anything that you recover in this operation will impact on our investigation. Based upon this I must insist that a member of the Fraternity is present to over see this. As I have already discussed my desire to see the plane returned to the rule of law it will not surprise you I intend to do this personally."

Once Caterina is seated, he takes a seat himself, his joint cracking as he sits down, leaning foward, heavily on his staff. He strokes his beard as she talks, not talking until she is finished.

"So you want someone from the Fraternity of Order within this mercenary band I am trying to piece together yes?" He pauses as he weighs his options . "I can only guarantee this insofar as someone that does sign up yes? Outside of that, I cannot make any promises unless you wish to have someone personally sign up."

Caterina's tone remains calm and measured. She warms herself by Locke's fire.

"As I said I plan on going myself."

Her manner although polite suggests she is not asking permission but stating her intent.

"I will of course not be requiring any gold from you and you would be foolish to turn down a spellcaster of my ability, particuarly not one who has visited the plane in question before. The Triad will of course retain anything found their that is deemed helpful to our investigation."

The old man's face wrinkles when he smiles

"That is great news! No, I will not turn you down. As for your investigation, I have no idea if anything on our world is of any interest to the likes to the Triad of Sigil, but if you find something worth while, then you are free to take it. Sir Loke and I just want our homeworld back."

He lets out a sad sigh as he leans back in his chair. "The first expedition will be a few days time. Be prepared."

Caterina smiles there is more she could say but she has what she wants, doing so would serve no purpose.

"Please have your staff made aware of my arrival, I assume we will meet at the portal?"

\\I will try to make this, but my flight chief asked me to help him this Friday evening with something.

"We will meet here, I will lay out my battle plan first, then we will go to the portal".

After a few days of searching Lokra tracks down Mishka and approaches him, clad in her normal attire of ornate looking black and gold full plate, her eyes aglow with a faint green ethereal haze. After sizing him up she speaks.

"I am Lokra, and your little expedition is of interest to me. Tell me the stakes and the reward and you may have my blade and will at your side."
