The woman is bound and gagged and blindfolded, always guarded by two of the Horde.
While the wounded were sent home the recent success attracted a few new faces, bringing the numbers up to eight active members.
"I know of an abandoned cellar nearby. Not well hidden or fancy but easy to defend. We could lock them up there."

"That'll have to make due. We'll have four of us take them there, but remember they are victims. Keep them free of anything sharp or something that could make them a danger to you or themselves. We need to treat them with care. The addiction is powerful and they were likely poisoned by someone against their will. They'll need medicine and plenty of water, food if they can stomach it."
Khari would give a number of sedatives and other herbal remedies to the four that volunteered to watch over the addicts and instructed them on what to use and when. "I'll be by soon to check up on all of you." She then looked at the bound woman being held by the two Hivers. "Let's move."
The ranger made her way to their hideout in the Slags.

Eman turns to the crowd, picks four of them and instructs them what to do, where to lead them. Of course the Hivers have not much experience in this kind of operation but they are willing to try.
The others follow Khari to the hideout, the captive dragged along.

"I am a hired muscle not some thricedamned mastermind. I got fifteen jink per day plus food for guarding some junkies. This is what I did. I don't know anything about your bloody operations or hideouts or whatever.
And who are you guys anyway? Hardheads? Another gang? Are you hiering?"

Khari scowled at the woman's lack of morality. The ranger however didn't understand the Hive or the mentality of those that chose to live within its walls. She realized that sooner or later she would have to play their game by their rules - rules that could be bent or broken. In this instance, she knew she would have to play a little hardball.
"You were guarding junkies but you were also guarding a machine called a pain extractor that was siphoning agony from a tortured woman. These junkies are being driven into madness by the addiction and are turning up as a new kind of undead later." Khari grabbed a handful of the woman's shirt and shook her. "And I'm going to take a leap to guess you would have wound up hooked up to that machine eventually. Is your life worth fifteen jink a day?"

She scowls, tensing as Khari touches her and the ranger feels that her captive expects abuse or even torture.
When she answers her voice sounds tired.
"I am a Hiver. If my job buys me and my people another day and a full stomach it is all I can wish for. Got some good days now I ran out of luck. Morals and big words will not keep hunger at bay.
You sound like someone who lived a sheltered life... better get out of here before you run out of luck as well."
Khari feels somehow that her companions are quite the same- a small twist of fate might be all that is needed to get the situation reversed for them, that it is them serving the 'wrong' side.
"And I say it again.... I was payed for guarding that place. If you want to know more talk to my boss... if he is still alive."

Khari frowned, releasing her. It was true that Khari was sheltered. She had lived most of her life in a Druid Circle with her father's protection. The wilds were a rough place but food was never hard to come by so long as one knew where to look. The ranger had never known true hunger.
"Don't be scared," she said. "I won't hurt you." Khari looked at the other Hivers, then back to her prisoner. "So, how many of your people are looking for a new employer right now?"

"I am not sure," Khari said, looking at Seja. "I am glad you dropped your weapon and didn't give my comrades a fuss, but how do we know you won't do the same with us? I don't expect you to give yourself to a calling, but as Eman said, I need reliable fighters."
