The tiefling accepts both the amulet and the orders without comment. She whispers to her Hawk, fondling the feathers on its chest then sending it away.

Then she waits, staying close to the Drow and the Human, eying the undead carefully.

Vara arrives at the appointed time and place as well, wearing the specially crafted amulet. She has a small bag packed with a few scrolls, snacks, a small bottle of whiskey and her trusty staff as well. She is all smiles when she arrives

"Heya guys. Everyone ready? I'm packed and roarin to go."

Seeing Vara arrives Emila stands up.

"Seeing as everyone is here I shall open a gate and get us started."

She reaches into her wagon and pulls out a babu by the scruff of the neck.

"While I do our guide here will explain our route and the potential trade stop offs before we get to Everlost."

"Eeek!"

The gaunt demon lands in the grey sand at the wagon's side, brushes some imaginary dust off his shoulder, trying to regain some dignity.

"Well.. ahh... I am only here to herd the larvae, your Malevolence.", he complains at first but then, as he realizes that not following the vampire's orders might be not the smartest thing to do he hastily explains.

"The gate will open a passage to the outskirts of the town of Vadrian... that is if she does it correctly." Glances quickly at Emila, then adds: "Which she will of course."

The demon clears his throat, then continues " Anyway. Nearby.. about a day into the Plains of Hunder there is a small outpost run by some barmy sods.. necromancers from some prime. They showed great creativity by naming the place Digging Site II. They dig for artifacts there I think. But who cares? They are always desperate for supplies."

He steps away from the wagon a bit, walking up and down now nervously while talking.

"From there our way will lead us to the City of Straight Curves.. yes, another very creative way but fitting as.. nevermind. You might find out. Even if you perhaps will not be able to tell anyone!" Cackles madly but then becomes serious again.
"We then follow the river up.. and up.... to Lachrymosa and from there through the mountains into Oblivion's end and...Everlost. Easy, is it not?"

Charles listens to the guide and jots a few things down. He then patiently waits to begin the journey. Not being one who relishes walking great distances (usually heÂ’d take his Sparrow Jammer or Horses) heÂ’s anxious to get the journey underway.

‘Oh to be back at the estate watching blue skies’ he muses to himself.

He then moves towards the portal.

Drawing on divine power Emila tears at the fabric of the multiverse the gate opening and barring some kind of catastrophe the dark cold fridgid mists of Thantos should be visible on the other side.

The Gate stabilizes and behind it a dark, frost covered landscape can be seen. A large, pale waxing moon shines down at the broken buildings of an abandoned town, the only thing moving is the sand which is blown trough the streets by the wind.

Billowing clouds race over the sky and as they cover the moon for a moment the darkness is almost absolute. Soon the light floods the place again but in this moment the moon itself has changed, now full and bright.

The Undead pass through the gate without hesitating, the skeletons soon covered by a thin layer of rime, the Wyvern hissing annoyed as it is greeted by the biting cold.

Next comes the Demon who quickly leads his herd of Larve through the Gate- he seems perfectly at home indeed his whole pisture is changing, his movements smotther, more predatory and sometimes it seems he becomes part of the shadows themselves.

Xavara does not move yet. She stays close to Charles, standing a bit behind him- waiting for his command to go through.... or just to follow him as his bodyguard.

Charles steps through the portal and surveys the surroundingsÂ… pulling his cloak a little tighter around him. He gives neither mercenary any commands and simply tends to himselfÂ… allowing the Drow mercenary to see to security details for him. It would be up to him to decide the course of action for the two hired blades.

He minds the shadows in case of dangerous things that might hide in them yet walks in easy access to them. He is a Shadowdancer of some skillÂ… having the shadows close is also a safety precaution.

Vara steps through the portal as well, spells at the ready. Once on the other side, she takes a look around and makes it a point to take out her wand of Orb of Electricity and sets it on her hip just in case. She gives Emila, Charles, and everyone a look over before standing there, ready to start the journey.

As she has to hold the gate open Emila waits until last. She then steps through after the others and closes the portal behind her. Where as everyone looks on the grim landscape with its fridgid cold and thin atmosphere with aprehension she smiles to herself feeling quite at home.
