Dace pens a message to Charae:
"Charae,
Any news on the space for the patient evacuation? I was asked for an update earlier today.
Don't worry about arranging for guards. A certain old friend of yours has agreed to send some over, though he's somewhat insistant that you not send men if he will.
Please let me know when we can begin the move."
SIgned: Andor
With that done and sent, he takes a few moments to ask his "guest" some more questions.
About Rannia's glyphs, he "says". Aside from casting the Sign on them and creating a nice big hole in reality, is there any way to get rid of them? And you said that the invaders aren't using non-possessed or infected agents.... how do you explain her?

Since the two had last spoken, the dark elf sent a message out to the merchants of the Consortium, offering payment in return for loaning a large space in a warehouse. Once she had secured a sizable enough space, it was tightly packed with makeshift bunks and other basic amenities. The dark elf also paid a group of mercenaries within the organization and compensated the merchant for the temporary loss of storage space.
Upon receiving Dace's letter, Charae penned her response.

You will find the space requested in the agreed upon location. The Consortium will be providing the mercenaries to guard the warehouse as some of the space is still used by the merchant that owns it and they do not know or trust what men my 'friend' plans to send.
Also, this space is only temporary and loaned out as it is hindering one of my merchant's operations, so consider the location temporary until a more suitable one can be found or, hopefully, the mess in the Gatehouse can be resolved swiftly.
Please inform me if you need anything else.
Regards,
Charae

//The following would be reported in SIGIS and to the Factions and as such can be considered common knowledge.
An assembly of The Factol's is called at The Hall of Speakers by the returning Mercykiller Factol Alisohn Nilesia. The purpose of it is to discuss the best way of dealing with the threat of the invaders in Sigil. The appointed time comes and the Factol's assemble. All are present flanked by their Factor's. The only exception being that of Nilesia herself. She arrives late, and alone. As the young tieflling enters the hall and takes the floor, the whispering and talking fall silent and she has the attention of the others. Without introduction or niceties she speaks. Her voice carrying from her small body to fill the hall, it is clear she has done this before.
"Lady's and gentlemen I have been gone from the cage for sometime, trying to find a remedy to this problem, the city is riddled with creatures that would subjugate us, that would warp our multiverse to suit their own purposes, and it seems that the Lady has abandoned us. I return to you now in these dire times to tell you to take heart, to tell you that as she has done so before The Lady herself has spoken to me she has revelead to me why the invaders are here and what they are after."
There is a muttering from the assembled Factol's. Nilesia's claims of having conversed with the Lady are well known, and largely dismissed by the others. Still these are desperate times and they seeks answers. Nilesia seems to enjoy playing the crowd, she lets them fall silent as they wait. She turns and walks towards the Seat of The Fated. To her ally and lover The Duke Rowan Darkwood. She pauses and then she points directly at him.
"Its you!"
She turns to address the crowd.
"The Duke led an expedition of his own Faction to The Far Realm, when they where there they found an artefact and became possessed by the things that plague us! He has been biding his time and now the far realm creatures invade the city at his command."
Her gaze fixes itself on Darkwood.
"Do you deny it?"

Darkwood gets up with a dry chuckle, his powerful bulk, the warriors stance, the scars that mar his face a heavy contrast to the young tiefling's look.
Dressed in roughspun, practical clothes he seems almost out of place in the Hall of Speakers, the Fated Factol always a practical man, a man of action and blunt words.
Of course he is surprised at her accusations and there is a flash of anger on his face but quickly he recovers and his voice is deep and sure as he answers- with just a hint of amusement, just enough to hide how deeply this unexpected blow by an ally struck.
"Factol Nilesia, we all know I am a well traveled man, that I have seen a lot, have been to many places and fought many battles.
These experiences taught me one thing: There is nothing we want in the Far Realms."
Towering over the girl he looks down at her, his one good eye meeting hers, the scar tissue drawing white lines over his face, always telling the story of the cornugon's whip.
"Your accusations are as far fetched as they are baseless. As we speak my Faction is cleared of the last possessed factioneers and we stand united and strong while your own Mercykillers, the soldiers you brought with you, do not dare to enter the prison, instead camping in the streets like vagrants."
He turns his attention to the assembled Factols and factors, looking over the crowd, noticing the whispers, the chuckles, the curiosity and the scorn.
Where he often worked to protect his ally, this useful girl that leads one of the most militant factions, he will use this emotions and crowd against her this time.
"So you come here alone- abandoned by your own Factors- to accuse me, accuse my faction, accuse this whole gathering to be responsible for this invasion? How dare you?!"
His voice is a powerful roar at the last sentence and he glares down at the Mercykiller, a frown on his face.
Shaking his head he looks over the crowd again and when he continues his voice is softer:
"Return to your headquarters, rally your Mercykillers and then join us again. You are obvioulsy exhausted- get some sleep, get some sane advice and then join is again."

The young tiefling smiles at the man.
"So confident brave and brash my love. It is just like you, but you are wrong. The factioneers I bought with me from Acheron are not possessed. They are not tainted by either the threat of the far realm or the politics of the cage. They serve justice."
There is a clattering sound and a number of red and black armoured figures rush into the hall. There is a tense moment as the armed and armoured Mercykillers seem to be about to advance on the assembled Factol's. Then a shadow drifts over the hall a fleeting darkness, and another. One by one a collection of Dabus float in. They form a line between The Mercykillers and the Factols. If this bothers Nilesia though she does not let it show.

When the Mercykillers enter the room the factols and factors present make their outrage over this move known, shouts and insults filling the room but there is also a hint of fear in some of the voices as the presence of that many professional killers is not something to be taken lightly.
Factol Sarin looks over the Mercykillers and frowns- not liking what he feels of them and Factol Sensates and Godsmen step forward to forward official complaints to the Signer in charge of organizing this meeting- only to be dismissed.
The Duke himself is stunned for a moment- this move both brash and bold as it is surprising but he soon recovers, returning his attention to the tiefling again.
"Always confident and brave, sometimes brash but never foolish.", he growls, his eyes narrowing and behind him a few Takers move a bit closer to their factol. Rowan continues, his resolve and courage returning swiftly- not the first time he has been surprised and beind stunned means defeat regardless if the battlefield is the Hall of Speakers or the blasted landscapes of Avernus.
"I do not see the saviours of Sigil here."
He gestures at the soldiers.
"All I see is a couple of followers who share their leader's foolish....."
And he pauses as the Dabus float in, the appearance of the Lady's creatures perhaps impressing him more than the soldiers did before but he cannot completely supress his sneer that expresses well the scorn he feels for the ruler of the Cage.
But again this passes quickly and he continues, his words having lost nothing of their edge.
".... misguided visions. You want to help? Then take command of your faction, use your brave elite to clean house- instead of bringing then here to waste our time."

Quite as to what Darkwood's Fate would have been had The Dabus not arrived will remain a mystery. It appears that despite her renown for being headstrong and her claims that the Lady favours her above the others in the cage even Nilesia is not about to commit the wholesale slaughter of Sigil's luminaries in the sight of The Lady's agents. She has the savvy to turn this to her advantage though.
"The Dabus are here to stand with me, because The Lady knows what I propose is the only way to rid the cage of this threat. They fster in the deeps of The Gatehouse, this nest must be wiped out, you all see it, you all know it yet you sit here and do nothing. The Duke says we waste time and stall tearing own factions apart looking for infiltrators when the source of them is clearly the Gatehouse. He does this because he is one of them. Because he would love for us to delay further allowing his allies from the Far Realm can continue what they do there. You may wish to wait here and sit idle while your doom comes for you but I will not."
She raises her voice it echoes around the hall.
"My Faction will descend on the Gatehouse! We will purge it of The Invaders and return it to the custody of The Bleak Cabal! Those who remain free, those who remain true to Sigil and still possess the courage to fight for it. You will find us mustering in The lady's Ward."
She turns and makes her way out her troops follower, so do the Dabus, of course if this is a gesture of their support as the young Factol claims or the enigmatic creatures leaving once the threat of gone is open to interpretation.

Not long after Nilesia leaves The Hall of Speakers smoke billows from The Gatehouse covering the Hive in soot and grime, or at least more soot and grime. Rumours as to exactly why are many and varied but most "eye witnesses" agree that a large group of Harmonium soldiers arrived at The Gatehouse, followed by a group of Mercykillers. Neither were from the cage but reinforcements bought in from outside of The Cage. Apparently there was an altercation and then The Harmonium allowed The Mercykillers control of The Gatehouse. No one is sure what happened but the smoke rose soon after. The Harmonium have sealed the area off and are allowing only Bleak Cabal members in and out. The Mercykillers have not been seen since.

Mauric left the sceene with a strange sensation of moving away from something rather than towards his destination and he found himself irresistibly halting, turning around to steal a glimse at the Gatehouse several times before he disappeard into one of many narrow streets in the hive. A odd surge breached his mind briefly only to vanish and remerge again, he could not categorize it no matter how hard he tried to liken it to something else he had encountered before.

The sound of battle disturbed the serene silence of the Lady's Ward as a small unit of Hardheads clashed with a striketeam hailing from the Mercykiller camp.
Then an alarm has been sounded and the whole camp has been locked down, all guards pulled back behind the wall, turning the Mercykiller camp into a fortress.
What has happened there is unknown but there are rumours of a prisoner who has escaped and of Anarchist operatives attacking both Hardheads and Mercykillers with enchantment spells or psionics.
