It was disturbing to say the least. It was mostly sounds and a looming flashes of color. The sounds... were like thousands of people trying to express their distress in same time. Only a single authoritarian sound booming over the others in what felt like agonized wordless calls of aid followed by prolonged growl and enhanced cries of despair with trashing, crumbling and crushing of stone and metal much like an earthquake.
I only caught glimpses of swirling blurry hues of brown, ashen, beige, rust and crimson in an disorientating fashion. There is a serpent twirling along what may've been ground slithering and avoiding obstacles as it ventured forth, a sharp green glistening flashed in its eyes and it bit toward the observer which the brains recognized as the self. That was when I woke up.

" A serpent? Like in Serpent Circlet? It escaped the destruction or did it cause it?"
Looks up from his scetchbook, still comparing the two pictures he made.
"As I see it the cavem everything inside it and we were... spared a change. Everything seems very different now.
So I am sure that whatever happened to us protected us from whatever happened out here. It makes more sense for the circlet to keep a closer, smaller area in stasis or under protection than changing something larger at a greater distance,"
Glances over at the female Elf.
"The Outlands are constantly shifting and also what some call 'divine morphic' but so close to the spire a god will have a hard time to morph anything. Their natural mutability is also lessened by the spire as well.
Hm. How long would you say does it take for change like that to occur naturally- lets say on a prime?"

*Not being one of the biggest thinkers in the group Chakra would shrug. A hundred years, maybe more were it natural I suppose.*

So there they stood dumb stricken by the sudden alteration with several theories that may or may not be proven correct, time kept passing and suppose some of them started to question whether or not the knowledge mattered at the point as much as direction or what do they do regardless whether they wield the sufficient information or not?

"It looks like we have a bigger secret to explore than just a few damp caves. I suggest we return to Sigil immediately."
He checks on his belongings then looks at his companions.
"We should split the supplies among us, fill our waterskins and hope the Outlands will speed up our steps."

This was my plan as well.

The remaining supplies were shared quickly between the folks, to the halflings it might be a tad much in a single go since neither were too sizable or strong to carry all of the days supplies which were rather unthoughtfully only served in human sized portions. Though it as relatively heavy load per person, the journey would only make it lighter, that much was certain...

*Chakra carries more than her fair share. She doesn't encumber herself, she does however carry what would weigh down the Hin to speed up their trip.*

The journey started toward the edges of outlands, day passed and another and yet another. First couple of days were troublesome as they were traveling through a huge desert with no cover from the searing heat, water supplies were running out rapidly and excess clothing or armor had to be discarded for the time to not be carried on or suffer heat induced problems. On the bright side they finally reach to the edge to a more vegetable lands where by the grace of sheer luck a rain is waiting allowing them to resupply water.
The scenery doesn't change to any more familiar despite the spire behind them going to further distance. They certainly were in the Outlands as they knew no other with such remarkable landmark. Much to Falheens and Hera's relief their magical aptitude started to gradually return, first they were able to only call forth the weakest forms of magic despite huge efforts, but the further away they traveled from the Spire the more it returned.
It took a couple of days before they'd reach to a seeming road, it was an anonymous one and had no road signs, but it meant civilization at least. It wasn't in great condition for it was muddy and barely could be called a road, likely a trading path. Following the path for another couple of days to a whole of seven days they finally reach civilization, exhausted of the journey, but at least they finally made it to the... Excelcior said the sign. The landscape was elevated hills and the city was a well lit one despite it being a night. The city structure was roughly spiral like where the center was elevated from the other portions gradually. They stood at the open gates where a number of wary celestial blooded looked at them cautiously.
"Hail travelers. What brings you here?" mentioned an average height humanoid that strongly resembled human, except two bright hued wings were neatly folded on his back.
