The Vampire and her undead horde rush the stairs up- just in time to catch the last survivors trying to bar the door leading to the tower's topmost chamber.
They did not expect Emmy to be that fast and they back up into the room, lifting their shields and swords- ready for their last stand.

The Hobgoblins lock their shields, ready their blades and Emila will find them to be tough and determined opponents- one even managing to stab past her defenses and it is only her unholy, tough skin that turns his blade aside.
Yet the whole battle does not last even a minute and the defenders are dead- fallen before the vampire's spell enhanced strenght and combat prowess.

Hehe. No idea what your character is doing right now- it is up to you. :P He could do some research about Thanatos, bug Charles about better payment or just wait at Khazeet's until Charles calls him.
Right now Emila and Charles are assembling their forces- troops they will use to guard the caravan. Of course each of them uses different means to do so.))
The Gate opens and the bleak, grey town behind it looks almost welcoming to Emila now.
The undead walk through, one by one, carrying the corpses with them and when the vampire closes the gate behind her only the blood and some discarded pieces of equipment hint at the desperate battle that was fought.

The documents forwarded by the fiend are indeed about old contracts and jobs- kept by the rather simple minded fiend to introduce itself.
Xavara bows a bit. "Understood. I will be there."
They all leave- now that the bartering for a new job os done they show some professional respect for each other, despite the knowledge that they might have to kill each other one day. The 'loths seem to be pleased with the offer and being mercenaries to the core they will of course take it.

Emila reanimates the remaining corpses and has her undead march from Death of innocence to the mortuary. Once there she reanimates the bodies of the monsters she left there and removing the hobgoblin's corpse from her bag of holding finding a coffin for her and the new vampire to rest and regenerate in.

As we have our guards now we soon can head out to find profit (or death) in the cold ashen sands of Thanatos.
I hereby ask all spellcasters to please PM me the list of prepared or known spells.
If desired PHB spells can be chosen to be prepared and spontaneous casters can switch one spell known of each level for a spell from the PHB- if they want to.
As soon this is done we can start.
P.S. If anyone decides he or she or it wants to join this game it is not too late of course. Just drop me a PM and I find a way to get you in.
