The Longest Night

As the spells are cast John's arrows glow with a golden holy light, from Thist's fingers burst two small bullets of pure force. They strike the creature but Thist has to struggle he feels his magic force its way through the creatures defences, this time. Both of the bolts of force strike the creature causing it to grunt in pain but it does nothing to stop it rushing forward as the two hishappen monsters close with the group.

Cursing under his breath, John lifts his bow and sets a second arrow into place. Using his skill as a military trained archer (rapid shot) he lets loose the two missiles at one of the targets in quick succession. As he fires, he yells the command to Ben to “defend” (not permit opponents to get near John so he can continue to fire but not to rush the enemy either).


((IÂ’m not at home right now so donÂ’t have access to my character to check his bonuses and such. If youÂ’re able to check his stats, Midnight, IÂ’d appreciate it. If not, itÂ’ll have to wait until I get home this evening. Either way, I rolled a 15 and a 9 (unmodified) on the auto roller))

Both of the arrows fly. The creature does not seem to be worried it charges forward. One sails harmlessly over its shoulder, the other strikes it in the chest and it realizes its mistake the blessed arrow head piercing its hide. It looks a bit shaken but rushes on.

As the two draw near Ben snarls and snaps at the nearest one. If the hounds teeth pierce the creature's hide is doubtful, but it seems slow witted drawn to the dog not the archer. The faithful hound does his job.
