As Mauric speeds towards the chamber that housed the fiend Ramal's body works quite well as a shield the stone and falling rock bouncing off him. As he gets there he would find it empty. The devil is gone the wards that keep it in place are still intact but the now gaping hole in the celing and the daylight shining through it would tell him the winged fiend would need no magical means of escape. Dorian follows quickly after him and will see this too

Ayase successfully opens the gate to the Ethereal plane but as she peers through it the glowing runes of the dimensional lock that is in place would still need dispelling before anyone can travel any further.

Brax sighs and nods.

"Centuries of carefully cultivated reputation and standing."

He walks past Hasclaan and as he does so he catches a tall chained Kryton with his shoulder spilling the fiends drink. Before the angered devil can even respond the tiefling swings a punch.

"Watch where you are going you blathering idiot. Do you know who I am!?"

Hasclaan watches for a moment, waits for the situation to escalate before finding cover behind a curtain.

He wishes the man good luck, part of him admiering his courage and determination to the cause. Perhaps they will meet again but for now it is the mission that is important.

He tries to get his bearings then hurries towards his target, staying alert.

snorting and rising her mask up to the nose to uncover the mouth she tries to syphon the runes and their effect off

He looked upward and into the blindning pillar of light illuminating the thick veil of stonepouder dancing wildly to the symphony of destruction. Expected but misfortunous he thought. The very knowledge of i's imprisonment was worth something. More so the subtile taunts may have gained him an enemy that was now free. Pursuit now would be futile. What part of the play belonged to the fiend will remain a mystery and so seem the demon invasion.

Dorian continues to follow, once they are out of the tunnels they can decide their next plan of action.

He set Ramal down head first with a thud chipping the bricks on the floor. Leaning over him with his hands on Ramals feet he spoke amused while looking up. - So we have our chance to join the fray. Not that we have much to gain from staying when we can escape. Removing our masks would allow us to blend in with them beyond any suspicion. *He looked to Dorian* I trust you still wish to prevent that unprophesied fate from occuring?

Dorian was taking a moment to adjust his mask and wedging a sticky substance into the cracks to act as a glue.

"To be honest, i'd happily use Ramal's body as a distraction at this point and let the horde feed on it.

But yes, the Harbingers have not prophesied the fall of this world, so, I plan on staying and fighting. My power could help turn the tide here, and a grateful populace, or what is left of it after the battle, may be able to aid me in my own quest.

Do as you will. If you leave, we may meet again in Sigil."

He glances back to see if he can make out Ayase then shrugs.

"Now just one question.... where is mage with a levitation spell when you need one? The climb is going to be tricky."

//I feel I should clarify something as I have been made aware it has caused a little discussion. Both Dorian and Ayase were able to reach as far as the near ethereal with their respective spells despite the dimensional lock. This allows both of them to become ethereal in the way that it would be under the NWN2 engine. However had either of them wished to use the ethereal plane to travel they would have to dispel the lock.

Strictly speaking they should not be able to get there at all but I decided to allow an advantage as it was a good idea. It is however an advantage allowed to everyone and certainly not the case of someone being allowed to do something and someone else being refused the same thing.

Now that I have that off my chest...

Mauric and Dorian find themselves at the bottom of a deep chasm. The bricks of the temples ruined tower and the shattered bell rest around them on the floor. Above them they see dark shadows flit across the sky as large bat winged creatures fly above. The cries from the walls just out of sight and the thud and twang of catapults would answers the mystery of the demons and the hasty retreat of the knights. The hoarde has arrived.

As she gathers her magic and blasts the glowing runes of the dimensional lock there is a dull roar as the hungry invocation devours the spell and Ayase feels the stolen magic bolster her own vitality. The lock falls giving the doomguard a way out should they wish it, and other things a way in should they find it.

Hasclaan makes his way from the hall, behind him he hears curses uttered in infernal as people rush to separate the roaring melee. He heads through the first set of doors and finds himself in what appears to be a kitchen. Several minor devils stop preparing food and turn to look at him as he enters.

Hasclaan ignores the Devils at first- he would not be here if he was not allowed to be here, right?

He looks around for another exit and then walks towards it with measured steps.

"Someone is most likely going to make a mess in there soon.", he points into the direction of the ballroom with his thumb his voice calm. "I suggest to send someone in to clean the mess."

The necromancer also tries to find some tiefling or other humanoid creature among them- someone whose shape he could wear should it become necessary later.
