The Longest Night

"Evocation Magic. Now this is intersting.", he points at the wands with his mace. "No other signs of magic in here... not active nor lingering.", he tells Thist, then enters carefully, trying to avoid stepping on the leaves and keeping some distance from the alchemical apparatus.

Instead he walks over to the wands, touches one carefully with his mace.

"Wands you say, of the evocation school? Hot damn, that is some good loot er.. if we where common brutes." Thist enters the room and looks around with Norman. He does wander over to the wands and eyes them, looking for any special symbols or insignas that some wand crafters engrave on their wands.

Then he looks over to the alchemical apparatus, trying to see if it has been used recently or within the last decade Thist says to himself amusingly.

"Yes... or on the next door or chest or drawer we might open.", he whispers, his voice tense.
Stopping for a moment he grins back at the mage. "But all the effort shows us that somebody really has something to hide here...."

[*Midnight]

They descend the stairs and the room opens out into a cellar. The light spell reveals two long empty tables littered with piles of dirt and compost. Above them suspended from the ceiling are what appears to be three wands. Around the room are work benches filled with bottles and alchemical apparatus. The odd leaf or black petal can be found littering the floor. In the corner there is a safe.

Using up his last Orison for the day Norman quickly casts Detect Magic then he looks around in the room carefully, giving this wands at the safe in the corner some extra attention.

He points out the leaves and alchemical items to Thist. "You know what those are?". he asks, then concentrates on scanning the room again.

There is nothing magical about the safe. Obviously the wands do show up as being magic.

Thist could tell that the alchemical equipment has been used recently probably in the last few days.

As Norman tentatively taps the wand with his mace it simply swings on the chain that hangs down from the ceiling.

Thist steps closer, weary of any traps to see if he can make out what was made and how recently ago.

Norman gathers the wands, takes a closer look at them now as he tries to identify their purpose.

He then walks over to the safe and he crouches down, examining it.

Thist would be able to tell that they are distilling poisons here. The black petals and earth he finds are from the lotus flower. Much like the poison that Henette gave him in a bottle when they began. He can be sure that it is not the poison on the trap though as Norman is still very much alive.

As Norman examines the wand it activates. A clear bright light filling the room The result of a daylight spell being discharged.
