"Fish will do. Thank you."

He leaves his things where they are, not bothering with unpacking his bags.
There were worse places, dirtier ones, colder ones, darker ones, places crawling with things that..... his mind returns to the present and he frown, shaking off the unwanted memories. This room will do.

Taking off his cloak he kneels down at the shrine, meditating and praying while he waits for his meal to arrive.

It could be just his imagination but as Hasclaan prays he feels something a malign sentience that becomes aware of him. Recognizes him.as kindred. Then his revie is broken the door opens and he is handed a baked pie with a strong fishy smell to it. Should he bite beneath the surface he would discover the rubbery taste of eel squelching around in sloppy sauce.

He seems puzzled for a moment, tries to reach for that... presence, tries to invite it to reveal itself. Almost annoyed by the interruption but regains his composure quickly and gets up to eat- and it dos not matter if he enjoys the meal or if the bed is comfortable.

Luxury and comfort will come later- today he has a mission so he teas quickly and after washing himself he goes to bed early.

In the morning he meditates, prepares his usual selection of spells and then heads out.

The temple provide Hasclaan with a horse for his journey, a black gelding. As he makes his way towards the town and temple the road he is on reaches the edge of a forest. It is summer in Oerth and what would normally be considered pleasent warmth becomes unbearable heat as he journeys on. Just as he is reaching the edge of the wood he would notice the road ahead of him is barred. A knight in armour which bares the symbol of Heironeus as well as the device of a chalice atands before him flanked by a number of men at arms bars the way. They look hot bored hot and ready for some kind of diversion. Like a fight. The knight intones in a slightly nasal voice.

"No further, the road is unsafe."

Hasclaan enjoys the journey somehow- to feel fresh air, the feel the sun a welcome break from Sigil's stench and haze and twilight.

He approaches the men openly but remains in the saddle as he is hailed. Seizing them up for a moment he also looks around, taking in the surroundings- to both plan a quick escape as well as to look for potential ambushes.

"Good day. What is the problem?"

The knight in charge seems well equipped professional and trained. The men at arms less so. As far as Hasclaan can tell they are alone there. (more will require a spot check.)

"We chased a number of demons into the woods they hide there now our forces are rooting them out. It will not be safe until we are finished."

"Ah. Demons." He hops from the horse, pats the creature's neck but keeps his distance from the soldiers.

"I am Hasclaan Guunt, sent by the Fraterinty of Order of Sigil to investigate the recent increase of demonic activities. The powers of Law must not ignore a threat like this.
So if you allow... may I watch Heironeous finest hunting this chaotic scum? Perhaps I can also assist with a spell or two."

The group look at each other, blank stares all round, it is clear they have no idea what the Fraternity of order is. They look to the man in armour for direction and to his credit he provides it. He clearly is not going to admit to have no idea what Hasclaan is talking about, he responds by casting a spell. Hasclaan does not recognize it which given his schooling in magic would suggest it is a divination of some sort. His expression sours slightly at the result of it.

"I don't think so we already have the assistance of a wizard."

There is a cough from behind him and one of the men at arms steps nervously forward.

"Actually Sir Domic they got him he died."

The man visibly winces as he speaks knowing full well this is not what and especially not where or when his superior wants to hear.

The knight, Sir Domic apparently scowls.

"I suppose we do need arcane support then. They are only a day into the woods and they aren't going particularly fast. If you travel through the night Waltham you and our guest should catch up with them soon."

The gulp and look of panic that crosses Waltham's face suggests he really does not want to go into the woods particularly not at night.

Hasclaan does not care if the knight is pleased or not- the feelings of Heironites was never something he cared about. They are a force of law but their scrouples clearly hamper their effectivity.

He keeps a neutral expression, checking the sit of the sadlly, listening to the exchange between the men without commenting it- day or night does not matter much for him, not as long as he has his spells and his protections are working.

When he adresses Waltham his voice is calm, confident, the wizard trying to calm the skittish man.

"We should hurry. The earlier we arrive your companions the earlier we can start with our work. I trust you to show us the way and you can trust me to keep us safe."

He then turns to the knight, gives a small bow before mounting his horse again. "Order shall guide you, Sir"

Then he waits for Waltham to lead him through the woods.

"Stay close and remember we are not here to fight. There might be one day where you can die as a Hero for Heironeus' cause but it is not today."

With this he urges his mount to higher speed, following the man into the thick woods.

Part of him enjoys the smell and sounds of the forest, the coming night and he feels very alive- the first time for many years. Again he pushes back the memories that try to flood his mind and focuses on the task, on his mission- prepared to deal with whatever 'trouble' might block their way.
