Thist strikes the plate with his staff the needle like spikes shoot up and using his staff as an an aid to balance he picks his way through them. A few times he feels them brush his skin and there is a ripping sound as his robe tears, but at no point does one cut him he does not feel the agonizing kiss of the poison they contain and he arrives on the other side next to Norman safely.

Norman meanwhile manages to isolate and clean his wound. The flesh there is a sickly almost purple colour, but tying the bandage tight he thinks he has managed to stop the ill effect from spreading.

From the other side of the pressure plate they would hear John slip through the door. The ranger being best placed to hear the outside would hear the sound of glass breaking and doors slamming. The ruckus grows louder.

Norman looks at Thist, smiles at his words as he puts on his boot again and gets up, carefully trying to put some weight on his leg, wincing a bit.

"This is nothing a potion or one of my prayers can fix. I will look for help once we are done here."

He channels a small spark of positive energy into his wounded foot to close the gash the spike caused- only a small orison- then readies shield and weapon again.

John investigates the noise more closely.

Norman's wounds heal and although he is still weakened he can stand and move around to some limited capacity. He and Thist now stand with a door in front of them to their left, a set of stairs down to their right and sitting room to their left. The stairs up are now on the other side of the trap although John can reach them without risking triggering it.

Speaking of John as he peers through the crack in the door he sees a scene of mayhem. The disturbance has brought people out into the streets. They are pelting the two hardheads whom are retreating down the street rather quickly with whatever comes to hand.

Norman quickly checks the sitting room to the left just to make sure there is no nasty surprise waiting there. He enters carefully, looking around for what he might find.

He would watch the scene, and the two retreat, from the quiet of the darkened door. When all eyes were on the scene, he would open the door slightly and whistle for Ben to come.

If it appears at any time that the Hardheads are in actual danger, he would intercede and help them.

"Alright... who goes where? I say we go down first." Hefts his staff "And use this to prod our way. That trap looks nasty and no telling what else is lurking around here.

"I suggest we make sure nothing nasty waits for us here before doing down. I think that whatever they want to hide will be on this side of the trap"

Sniffs and gives a sly smirk before saying "Well Norman, we know I'm not going first. Want to use my staff?".

The living room looks neat orderly and tidy, whoever was there had time to clean up when they left and put the fire out. There is a chair tables and a book case. The floor is bare floorboards no rugs carpets or decorations. Such sparse living conditions are common in The Hive though particularly if the tenants oh the house do not plan on living their long.

//spot roll please

After the cursory inspection of the living room Thist and Norman stand before the cellar door deciding who will go first.

John would see the hardheads retreat back out of the road to the cat calls and jeers of the residents. There is a muted cheer from outside and then life seems to go back to normal people returning to their homes as if nothing had happened.
