"The body must remain intact!"

The words barked loudly in the crypt echo off the close stone walls. They drown out Mauric and Dorians words and bounces back off the walls. There is no way Ramal can't have heards it. In the distance they hear a rumbeling cackle from the caged fiend. From ahead they hear the tread of armoured boots as something else enters the crypt.

*******************************************************************************

Not far away in the keep the conversation continues.

"I cannot take the risk the people of the town depend upon us for protection. I am sworn to defend them and will not gamble with their lives."

The commander sighs as if reluctantly reaching an inevitable conclusion.

"You have travelled the planes. You are a pragmatic man who would not stand out in Dis."

Hasclaan does not like what he hears and makes no attempt to hide it. Yet he also knows the man is right and he would have a better chance to stay unnoticed for some time than someone whose pure soul calls shines like a beacon in the hellish darkness.

"You want me to go there and do what exactly?"

"And retrieve the chalice. If you bring it here."

He looks at Hasclaan as if gauging his reaction, trying to see how much he knows.

"If you bring her here the hoarde of demons would be stopped in its tracks. This would do much to stem the tide of chaos here. This is what your Fraternity would want isn't it?

You are not of our faith I do not expect you to do this out of charity, but when you are thinking of naming your price remember there are some things we will not do."

"I am aware of your faith's lack of.. pragmatism.", the Necromancer smiles his faint, distant smile but now there is amost some genuine amusement in it.

"I will do my best to get her here in time. Tell me what I have to do and I tell you what I will need to succeed... and my price."

If he was surprised at the relevation he did not show it. He will be told what he has to know and soon might be able to find out part of the truth himself.

We'll just have to gather all the pieces then. *He continuied to rush towards Ramal despite hearing the clattering of armour* Be fast now, we need time to hide him. Or we have to make a slaughter of them all.

The man nods to Hasclaan, this seems to be the response he was expecting.

"It has taken centuries to do it and the work of dozens who have come before me, but we have an agent in Dispitar's court. A man of fiendish blood who has been sanctified against his heritage. He has worked his way into the arch devil's favour winning the trust of a creature as parinoid as Dispitar was not easy. He can get you to the chalice. Getting out again is up to you."

Hasclaan is not someone who is impressed easily but when he speaks his voice now shows his respect for this unkonwn agent.

"I have underestimated your orders talents for... the subtle approach. This agent is most talented. He has his own means to get out?"

While he waits for an answer he thinks, plans, tries to calculate his chances.
Plan well and the influence of this chaotic pest called luck can be minimized.
Of course it is in his nature to also plan for possible betrayal- especially when dealing with the Nine Hells.

"My prepared spells should suffice. Lets do this quickly and perhaps we can suceed before the demons strike."

Hasclaan thinks for a moment then speaks.

" I want not much. Just a favour and perhaps Heironeus will never have to grant it. But if I one day step forward to claim a place among the powers of Law I want him to remember what I did for him and to support my claim."
