Khari sent two to look for Durwin and his wife. Having read the SIGIS, she was concerned that the Putrid Hand might retaliate over losing one of their extractors. She also asked another Hiver to keep her updated on what was going on with the attack on the Hand's stronghold and who was behind it.

In the meantime, she organized a group and traveled to the location of the pit fighting. The ranger was intent on shutting it down.

As for the figure dismembering the Hand, she would look into that as more information came.

The two sent out to search for Durwin and his wife return without finding anything new- the locals seem to think that the priestess took the coiple to some infirmary or temple but know nothing about the exact whereabouts.

Also the other investigations do not reveal anything new- it seems that both the skills and willigness of the Hivers to risk their hides are rather limited.

When Khari's horde moves through the Hive it draws some attebtion of course. Some are whispering, a few are asking questions, two even joining.

But of course this kind of attention also means that when the group arrives at the small building that houses this pit fighting business there are already a few more guards around than usual.

Wearing a hood and mask, encouraging her horde to do the same, Khari approached the small building. When she came into speaking distance, Khari said, "We demand to see whoever is in charge here."

Khari feels how a masked, hooded group draws a different kind of attention and where people first were curious, asked a lot and were supportive they are now afraid, sometimes even hostile- keeping their distance, readying weapons discreetly and gathering friends.

Gang wars are nothing unusual in the Hive and many have been 'collateral damage' before so there is not much sympathy left for either side.

When Khari's group arrives there it is met with a similar response and the guards don't even try their hostile attitude.

When hailed a large, heavily muscled man is stepping forward, answering Khari's question by suggesting a rather imaginative, naughty but anatomical slightly impossible sexual act.

The masks were a price to pay. She was nervous about Durwin's whereabouts being unknown and the SIGIS reporter T.C didn't care for anonymity. She didn't want more of her men showing up on that paper.

Khari noted the rather large man. "We want your drug dealing to stop here and now. You won't poison another Hiver."

Having some knowledge on Hivers, she knew if she wanted respect (or fear), she needed to show a little force. "And watch your mouth." she said and brought the heel of her palm forward and into the man's nose. (19+8 = 27 STR check)

The man is thrown back, killed instantly by the blow.

Khari's companions see this as their sign to attack surging forward cheering- meeting the advancing Putrid Hand members and the now unfolding brawl is more punchfest than a real battle as both sides are only employing the most basic of tactics.

Yet no quarter is given or asked- the harsh life in the Hive breeding even harsher people and Khari is surrounded by brutality and violence.

Two men armed with cleavers and knives move against Khari but she sees their combat experience is limited and while they might be good for the Hive's standards they are no match for a seasoned adventurer.

The locals shut their doors and windows, barring them preparing their own weapons- trying to not end up as 'collateral damage' in this violent conflict.

Khari gasped. She had underestimated her own strength, having not intended to kill the man. As the violence surrounds her, Khari directed her men toward the small building to minimize harm to bystanders.

She dispatched her two attackers by blunt strikes, knocking them out. She knew the fight would be violent, but also knew the Putrid Hand wouldn't be stopped through words.

Knocking them out was a bit harder than it sounds- Khari's usual blades not exactly the best tools for this business but she suceeds taking them down, but not without suffering a nasty gash on her left arm herself.

Looking around she sees the battle is going well and while her horde is not the most disciplined force the suceed in bringing down the guards and when the dust settles Khari notices six of her horde still standing- all of them wounded.

Some of her men start to loot the corpses, two approach the barred door, looking for a way into the building.

Khari didn't like the feeling she had when she saw the building was empty.

"Be careful." she said to her horde. "It might be a trap."

The ranger made her way to the stairs and door at the bottom.

A trap indeed and Khari seesyellowish green fumes rise as she arrives at the bottom of the stairs, then man behind her gripping his throat, falling to the ground, lifeless. Her eyes are stinging and it is hard to breathe, the gas even seeping through her skin.

"Poison!!", Eman cries, rusing out two other hivers following him the last of them hiding behind the bar, hoping the fumes do not reach him.

((Fort DC 17 please; all resistances, save boni and immunities to poisons apply)- and please give me a listen check. ))
