As of now, this date, Sigilian time, a few things occurred:
1. Stroden the Archivist has moved out of Muriel's Inn and disappeared. Inquires into his location reveal nothing, and scrying attempts to locate him will fail. Research inquiries into Stroden: LORE 50.
Success: (SPOILER) 2. Of the Whispering Plague and the Infected, only a few remain alive in Mercykiller keeping. They are kept isolated and gagged at all times, except whey they are forcibly fed and watered. If the prisoner tries to speak, the Mercykillers beat them into submission, then don't feed him/her for three days. They are incurably insane, and possibly prospects for admittance to the Gatehouse (provided the MK's can convince the Bleakers that they absolutely cannot be allowed to talk, or especially whisper, to anyone).
The MK's might just decide to cut out their tongues and send them to the Gatehouse.
3. Those possessing Far Realms knowledge or wishing to make a Lore check. The DC is 40 to successfully decipher the text (honor system, roll your own). If you are successful, google the words, which are actually in Hebrew. They boil down to a warning, and one likely directed at the Lady, the Cage, as well as the people of Sigil .
4. The Black Brain Goo is extremely toxic, but handle-able if one takes proper precautions (as it seems Nienna and Ug did). It is not infectious (it won't spread the Whispering Plague by itself). It can be used a poison, CONS check, DC 25. The poison must be injected into the bloodstream, or put on a weapon which wounds the individual.
(side note: permission for this poison to work must come from any victims willing to RP it, and it's their choice).
If the person fails they become insane for a period of d4+3 days. A Heal spell gives the person another CONS check, if they succeed, they're cured, with little memory of what they said or did. If they fail, they must wait the original time period until they finally come out of it (additional attempts with Heal are ineffective).
AGAIN, victims of this poison CANNOT pass on the Whispering Plague. They're just nuts - temporary Xaositects, if you will.
Due to the potency of the Goo, 30 poisons can be distilled from the samples you took. Fifteen of them are in Nienna's possession, the other half in Ug's.
Keep in mind there are other sources from which the Black Brain Goo can be harvested - the victims held by the Mercykillers are but one source, and there may be others.
5. The Wooden Fish is in the possession of the Mercykiller's Factol.
