Auric tilts his head to one side, looking at the group. "Lady's grace cutters. What's the chant?" His posture is somewhat relaxed but a more experienced observer would note that it's fairly alert.

They consider Auric for a moment and the four oft hem seem to spread out the tiefling dropping into a fighting crouch as he heads to Auric's right. One of the two humans fans out to his left, the other human and the bariur remain in front of him. Hands hover over weapons. It is the human directly in front of him. A tall bearded man in boiled leathers that have the free league sign emblazoned on them who speaks.
"You tell us. We're looking for a drow called Faelyn."

"Duly noted. Unfortunately my trail runs cold here. Is 'who' or 'why' of the search available information?"

It is the bearded man again who speaks.
"If you know nothing that can help us we don't need to share anything with you."
"Well he's hear isn't he? He must know something."
It is the tiefling who speaks. A woman in dark leather two small horns rise under her hair line and she has a pair of crimson eyes the pupils of which are slit lile those of a cat.
"If we do that he'll want a cut of the bounty."
It is the Bariur who protests this time.
"Don't be an addlecove all your life Gahris if we find nothing there will be know bounty to split."
Inecision sweeps through the group and they look at each other not Auric. Eventually the tiefling takes advantage of the indecsion and breaks the silence.
"We normally run parcels out of undersigil for the thought taker at the inn. The other day he offered us a bit more jink to pick up this drow he's after."

Ahh. Well, I've just said my trail goes cold, and I'm not keen on swiping someone else's pay. Any particular reason a mind-flayer wants a no-refuse invite on the guy?

The tiefling continues to speak her smile would be disarming if it wasn't for the fact her teeth were filed into points.
"We normally pick up relics that he sells on to other mindflayers on the prime irs from. Perhaps its the same for the drow, or maybe its for the slaver in the bazzar. I know they're friends."

They seem convinced by Auric's tale, a number of them look from one to the other. They seem to relax, hands leave the hilts of weapons and those of them dropped to a crouch ready for combat stand up straight. Unlike Auric after this their trail really does seem to grow cold now.

Auric makes his goodbyes, then makes sure to duck any tail put on him, feeling a little paranoid. Walking through the hive, he steps closer to the shadows and calls to them, his training hopefully enough to give such a pursuer the laugh.

Once as certain of his lack of pursuit as he can be, Auric makes his way to the other lead, fairly certain he is unlikely to get any more friendly of a reception, though with good reason.

Auric creeps away and they do follow him for a while but soon lose him. He makes his way through the hive, the ravages of the plague in an strange way make it a little safer. No thieves or muggers lurk no fiend wait in dark alleyways waiting to press gang people into the blood war. All remain inside and safe hiding away from the infection. As he arrives at the streets around the night market he would find tall tenements, the buildings are grim and on the verge of being dilapidated. Across the cobbles the cobbled streets barricades have been put up and a crude walks ways seem to have been raised. Men in no particular uniform stand watch upon them. As well hidden as he is no one has noticed Auric yet.
