((due to my poor ability to convey the message properly - I meant that Corny intended to hire a ship to go look at the old 'battlezone' to examine the remnants - unless the Atropus is known to still be there, he has no real interest to fight or get close to the active undead since those are his weakest form of enemies and it knowingly destroyed a fleet so one ship is little better than suicide x)

If one simply wishes to view where Atropus -was- the propor information can be aquired and a ship secured at a very hefty price as there is still a great amount of danger involved. The survivors speak of the great enemy heading in a specific direction (towards Sigil) but they cant confirm its still on the path or where along that path it may be at this point, so any ship takes a very long detour around instead of a direct path to one of the sites.
If one does hire a ship and a crew to sail there, they discover several things just be approaching the site.
-Long before the debris is seen the ship starts to be saturated with a constant presence of negative energy, its not enough to be lethal unless someone has an extremely poor constitution. The ships diviner or navigator if you will reports that the negative energy appears to be a slowly dwindling "taint" upon the area.
-As the ship travels closer and eventually enters the debris field anyone on board quickly sees that the destruction of the ships involved was utterly complete and in fact there are a handful of flying undead hiding among the debris that ambush the ship, but are fended off before they claim more then a half dozen lives.
-No survivors are found among the wreckage.
This, according to the ships captain and the information that is easily gained from the Githyanki(who have encounted this being several times), is just one site of conflict, there are still three more if one wishes to investigate, and has the jink for it, this site reportedly the second of four sites where fleets encountered the great destoyer.

Corny having actually made quite the amount of riches with his short lived time as a merchant and giving very little value to the gold was more than willing to pay excessive sums for the journey. He'd look around if there were any kind of actual solid physical pieces that may have lodged off of the Atropus at the sites, pieces of its flesh/soil (whichever you call it!) incase some of the Gith weapons had managed to make minimal damage, it didn't need to be much or large chunks.
The negative energy didn't make him feel particularly comfortable, but considering the circumstances it, the sacrifices of lives and resources appeared necessary in his point of view at the time. Of course not looking to just waste lives pointlessly he offered to expend his 'bless weapon' wand to aid the captain and their crew to fend off further ambushes.
If the captain was willing to head out toward the other assault sites still, he'd indeed head toward them, it may easily be simply the same sight repeated, but at the same time it might have vital clues. If reasons questioned, his reasoning is simply - "learn from past mistakes to not repeat them in the future and learn weaknesses in strategies of both sides. Know your enemy before trying to face them blindly."
Some of the more alien corpses or any pieces that may have been removed from the atropus he'd want to take with them in the ship for further studies. He'd also be curious to hear of any 'successful' strategies, even if limited success, but didn't end up in whole disaster but may've actually done harm.
((At the time of making this post he has 236k gold of which 200k is free to be invested to be the overall cost of the journey, if it's enough to cover the costs to begin with. Up to you how much it'll cost ;D just putting it out there. Also wasted 30 charges of my bless weapon wand to simulate the spending it on crew to make their weapons a bit more effective - which was a bit more boring than I had expected! XD))

Inside the city court Caterina would make her way to the department of records. With her she would have a set of completed forms requesting access to the stack. If successful she would try to look at any Guvner research project into the rules laws and axioms of life death and undeath that would mention Atropus. She would also look for any records from planes where the Fraternity had a presence that the elder evil had been encountered on.

// I have no idea if this is a good place to put this, but I'll give it a go.//
Around anti-peak last eve, a man named Mauric was briefly admitted to the Gatehouse Asylum. He had apparently snapped suddenly in the Great Bazaar, raving about "the end coming" and something called "Atropos." A Namer of the Bleak Cabal, Isolde, escorted him to the Asylum and informed Factor Ellamere of the odd situation. After falling unconscious a second time, he appeared to regain his senses. It hasn't been decided whether he will remain in the Asylum or not, as he had not turned violent, simply vocal.
Isolde released Mauric after he regained his senses and a brief examination. She cautioned he might be called back for a full exam and re-evaluation depending on what her Higher-ups said.

Continuing his investigation Vic'Antar begins his search anew in the temple of the abyss, looking for tomes and asking questions relating to the means on how Atropus was called towards Sigil. He also asks about the whereabouts of the remnants of the cult, who was involved and how.
A name of a potential member of the cult was also revealed to him "Travis". He asks the priests of the temple if they know of this person, what he looks like and where he might be found.
Afterwards he heads to the hall of records, searching the endless tomes for anything related to Atropus. He also asks the handler of the records if he can access the closed off sections of the hall since the issue of the great hungerer is something that should concern all citizens of the cage.
To increase his chances of finding information he uses a combination of negotiating skills, bribery and intimidation about the fact that everyone might perish if something is not done about this impending doom.
He also makes sure never to directly say the name "Atropus" but instead he uses "the great consumer", "the world eater", "the great hungerer" and similar synonyms.

Information on Atropus is very hard to come by, many investigators have come close, some very very close and yet not quite close enough, and its not surpriseing to some, after all if the greater powers refuse to acknowledge the existance of Atropus, finding any written lore about it is difficult indeed, but still some people have realised they are on the right track.
Negative energy waves continue to periodically strike the city generally with the same results, each wave getting abit stronger, sometimes the city is treated to a pair of waves in a row, the increaseing frequency and severity of the energy bursts suggests to even the most clueless of cutters that "he" must be getting closer indeed.
Its also become very apparent that uttering the name Atropus even in a whisper, let alone any language is a BAD idea, as soon after the name is uttered something bad usually happens to the person or those around him. The "bad" stuff ranges from sudden "accidents" to being struck with debris form beyond the city bounderies, indeed some people report people who mention the name Atropus have been struck by tiny "meteors".
The dustmen have also begun to act erratic, with each wave of negative energy the dustmen are becoming more and more erratic and sometimes even violent as if they are losing control of their undead forms.
And then, theres one poor soul whos gotten involved in the affairs of Atropus and appears to have gone completely barmy, folks can find him in the Gate House, in the Mad Bleakers Ward, cell 22A, poor sods got the tag Mauric, crazy berk,

meanwhile, as each of those negative energy waves invest the city and dead people reanimate as undead, even the sods who lie dead in razorvine patches reanimate, becoming a semi moving mass of entangling zombies that attempts to drag people in. and the more they drag, the bigger these weird combinations get

//Im moving this forward on the forums and I PROMISE in game very soon, this plot has been hanging for along time, but my schedule has finally lightened up for now that i can make progress, so hold on ladys and gents!
It's amazing how most people in Sigil grow accustomed to the shape of the city that no one really looks up, or out of the great planar ring.
Things have been very quiet over the past few months with no sign or word of the great and terrible world hunger that was said to be heading towards the city, perhaps it was just that, a rumor? A tall tale? A hoax?. In the "pre-dawn" light at the beginning of a "cycle" several months after the last Atropus related incident the crew of the astral ship "The Maiden Of The Stars" is about to find out that the Atropus threat is very real and a lot closer then one might have imagined.
"Captain! We are about to finish clearing our way past that debris!" shouted the man behind the controls of the astral ship who carefully ran his hands over the exotic looking crystal latices that control the magical ship.
Captain Bigs, an unusually intelligent fell troll stomped over to the edge of the ship and peered out as the ship slowly slid around the floating rock formation that had taken them several hours to go around. The crew gasped as they rounded the bend, confronted with an unusual and terrifying sight. The debris had apparently been blocking a massive moon-body. The crew studied the surface of the new astral body, taking note of the two giant craters on the northwest and northeastern half of the moon as well as the larger much darker whole roughly in the middle of the moon-object.
"Uhh...captain isnt that the moon that was the talk of Sigil a few months ago?" asked one of the crewmen, his knuckles white from gripping the edge of the ship hard.
Captain Bigs narrowed both sets of eyes as the surface of the moon began to ripple and shimmer, making it look like the "face" of the moon was attempting to change its look into some sort of facial expression, but the captain knew...he knew what the shimmering was...he heard the stories.
"That's no moon....all crews man your battle stations! Make ready for combat we are about to be over run!" both troll heads barked out simultaniously.
Atropus sighed, if it could do such a thing who would know?. The stillborn god, the world born dead with its unfathomable mind has drifted for many thousands of years, often being forgotten until it appears in the night sky of some prime realm to consume and destroy. It is ever hungry, ever searching for acknowledgment, the very gods themselves denied his existance. It is hard to say why Atropus destroys with out hesitation and with out pause, perhaps if it draws enough attention the gods will finally acknowledge its existance? Or perhaps it destroys in its each for the gods themselves? If the people who worship the gods are all eliminated then the gods will lose their power and wane, eventually vanishing from existance, it knows this...the great all father decreed it. It has consumed endlessly for thousands of years, but recently something has changed.
A woman, yes a woman became aware that Atropus exists, she has become obsessed with proving to the multiverse that it is real and that IT is her god, the one true god. She has traveled the Multiverse, conducting rituals across existance, lots of death and destruction..lighting beacons if you will for Atropus's progress across the multiverse.
Why does she do this? Atropus can only guess for as complex and undecipherable as his thought process is, it is also a curse upon itself, so mighty and vast is its conciousness that it cant comprehend the minds of significantly lesser creatures such as this...woman. her reasons are likely -too simple- for it to grasp. She recently took it away from the primes, she conducted a mighty magic ritual that shifted it from the last prime it destroyed and took it...here..towards this great planar ring.
It decided it was curious enough and it tried to reach out to her, knowing touching her mind would likely drive her insane and destroy her (which it did) the mind contact drove her even more insane and she over stepped her bounds, recently being cut down by a band of heros who claimed her life, but before she fell it gleaned a thought from her which it clearly understood.
"Doors, portals, access to the multi-verse all at once!" Atropus shivered, if it could do such a thing, the many creatures that resided on his body began to quiver with anticipation.
Doors...portals...endless destruction and access to anywhere it wanted to go...
It was near, so very near and yet it was forgotten by the people of Sigil..no problem its used to being forgotten about, it had ways of reminding people, but first this infernal rock was in its way
Not long after the Maiden Of The Stars left the city of Sigil and vanished on what turned out to be its last voyage, the city of Sigil is treated to a grand sight. A colossial piece of debris floating far away from Sigil suddenly begins to tremble and crack, the sound echoing for countless miles even reaching the city itself, the noise so loud it might as well be coming from the city streets itself. The streets come alive with the sound of doors opening, the street filling with curious residents. The sound isnt apparent at first, the horrid cracking and rumbling could be coming from anywhere!. Eventually someone, either a hero with a magic looking glass, or one simply with eyes as sharp as an eagles, or maybe an astral cutter docked at the ship yard, hell maybe something as simple as someone flying from one side of the city to the other would notice the large debris far away from Sigil trembling and cracking.
Those who have a means to observe great distances will find the piece of debris splintering and cracking. The process takes several hours, the whole time the sound drowns out everything else, even the Harmonium in the streets trying to control panicking crowds are drowned out.
Eventually the floating rock lets out one final echoing crack and shatters into millions of pieces, the remains having been propelled towards Sigil by the impact of of something hitting it from behind.
As the large object shatters and hurls its remains towards Sigil a great and terrible visage can be seen (with those who have the means) on what was the other side of the floating rock. The cause of the sundering is a moon shaped entity with three large and noticable craters on its surface, the two smaller ones along the northwest and northeast can only be described as a pair of eyes to go with the larger crater that could just as easily be called a mouth. The entity even at the still considerable distance will clearly dwarf the city of doors if, or perhaps when it gets closer. No one bothers to look up as often as they should. If it does not bother Sigil, then most people ignore it. The falling ship wrecks over the past few months? Clumsy pilots. The undead problems and negative energy waves? Bloody dustmen and necromancers.
The moon sized entity continues its approach to the city of doors, proceeded by the vast debris cloud of the floating rock.
-Here is the scoop and a rough timeline of whats coming. there are plenty of smart people within Sigil, so the following information is both OOC and IC, if you look at a date, you can look at it IC as if someone has done the nessicary divine/mathematics/trajectorys or what have you and has been able to predict when certain things will happen, you will see what i mean below. Please feel free to interact and start the RP before the dates below, the debris field IS noticable as is the great moon entity behind it
-September 5th (Thurs), the outer portion of the debris field proceeding the moon entity will reach the planar city of Sigil, bring your hard hats and umbrellas Sigils forecast will be the normal smog filled filthy air with a high chance of planar debris showers. This will be an all day event starting from around 12pm through 12am fri morning. I will not be doing one non stop endless event but something will happen every few hours.
-September 6th (Fri), the outer most portion of the debris cloud will continue, it is likely that the largest pieces of debris will come in contact with the city.
In the days between the end of the debris shower and September 9th (thurs) those who wish to figure out how long until the moon entity gets to Sigil can "ball park it" with six INT checks once every real time day with the sixth check on September 9th. You dont need to send me screen shots of the checks, just a simple PM with the results will do, I have no problem trusting our great roster of honest players. I will have access to the forums all day via my phone so i will be checking pms and the forums through out the day. RP to be done around this plot is to be done on the forums for now until thurs and fri when i can get in game. If you make int checks please let me know WHO made them. I will post the difficulties for each daily int check at the end of each day.
If you submit an interactive RP post with a creative way your character goes about finding out how much time until the moon entity arrives I have come up with a list of in-game benefits for this type of creativity, rewards related to the plot line such as the time frame being much more accurate then those who "ball park it" and other similiar benefits to being creative.
I thinks that's all the starting info Ive wanted to impart for now, I will update and post more as my brain churns.
