right after speaking with the angel smith, wuhi and verdant go in the earth plane. or at least, wuhi does.
she advance at ease among rocks, moving rocks, humber hulks, earth mephits and whatnot, she makes her way to some tunnels, she smashed stuff that would block her path to her objective.
then she stops, and she realizes she has no knowledge about mineralogy and mining, so where she's supposed to look for the iron she needs??
she walks back out into sigil, or catches up with verdant, defeated in her first attempt, but yet not discouraged.
and she ask verdants if he has any idea himself

Wuhi's emergence from the portal into the Lower Ward nearly sends her crashing into her quarry, as Verdant is standing there with an odd device in one hand.

"I was wondering where you went," he says, one eyebrow raised.

''we wents looking fer pure iron!'' *says* ''but we has no idea how to find it'' *laughs awkwardly*

They hear someone whistle and someone shout "Heya!" from the direction of the Foundry. A few minutes later, Vara approaches the two, waving with a bottle in her hand.

"Been lookin for you two. I see ya meet that angel fella in the Foundry. By the time i got there all of ya were gone. So, did he give ya goods on how to disassemble a holy sword?"

wuhi doesn't answer and instead just jumphugs at vara

"That'd be why I had to stop off elsewhere to fashion this thing," Verdant replies to Wuhi, lifting the device slightly to call attention to it. Further explanation is interrupted by Vara's arrival. "Oh, greetings Vara, and no, he didn't talk about how to take one apart. Rather the opposite," he says with a smile.

Oaf! *she loudly says but can't resist and returns the hug to Wuhi* "How to make one? I can't craft a holy sword, you gotta be a goodie two shoes." She sighs looking a bit crestfallen, "Not even a hint into what goes into making them?"

"And why are ya outside the earth plane portal? Plannin on goin in?"

"Well, the first step involves, I quote, 'purest iron'. Your contact suggested the Earth plane."

"A little divinatory enchantment, based on a few divinations I picked up here and there back on my prime for mining expeditions. Should give us some idea where to find pure iron. Or at least help narrow down our search," Verdant replies.
