So... presume Duke is pretty dead now after the event and will be awake sometime in the next week. But can't wait to hear about the events and what happened.
Unfortunately, Purity who had been peripherally involved in events, was unable to make it due to Freya demanding her presence at a party in Valhalla.

Alright, enough now...
Point one) People don't have to join events that don't suit their time, purposes or ideals. But lets let at least others have the fun.
Point two) Don't mock people that don't join events. So you joined event? That doesn't make you big shot, neither does it make the others any worse.
Both points are equally standing (I just can't break the dimensional space to place them in same spot). Have a little tact everyone. Yes even you.
There's all kinds of event settings through times, other times some are involved, other times all are involved, other times very few are involved... rather than demanding something, try making a suggestion, so they don't have the need to defend their views.
If there is complaint regarding the event or something you think that could be done better, you can try to negotiate with the said DM about it... or if there's some base player rights broken then you can take it to administrator (me/cryptc).

It's times like this I like to put all my OOC thoughts and feelings aside and say:
"What would Vorgazar do?" Metaphorically just get into your characters boots and act as they would act.
Just play your character ICly. Have faith in DM's. Boy have I been victim to a few wankers in my time but all the DM's here have proven to be anything but.
The event was epic, the outcomes were epic and everyone involved had fun. One person died due to permadeath but was actually given the chance to survive and actually chose not to.
Last night/this morning was one to remember in my mind.
I don't think I even lost more than a 3rd of my hit points at the worst of the fighting. We weren't dumped on my epic NPC swarms. The danger was there but it was realistic and proportionate.
It was to be honest mostly an RP storyline plot.
If you got offended at some point leading up to the event because Duke got riled by all the hecklers and started snapping at people perhaps people should look at themselves before they start pointing the fingers. He's got 10 times more patience than I would have had given the situation. You people are awful! The OOC jibber jabber, nagging and paranoia about potential crap that hasn't and probably won't happen is unparalelled.

I enjoyed the event a lot. It was great fun, nobody died except those who chose to, and during the last part of the event Vorgazelle was barely even scratched, though I did see some others taking a lot of damage.
The DM was great, even though we kept not waiting for him to finish his narratives and running off like crazed people he always just told us to stop and have patience. He didn't blow up or sent a horde of badguys onto us to punish us or threaten to end the event RIGHT NOW if we don't shut the Duck up as some DMs on other servers have done.
All in all the event went spectacularly, it was tons of fun for everyone (hopefully Duke too) and we all left it happy we participated. Even those who had to leave before it was completely over because they had played all night and it was 6am before they finally gave up and logged off.
KUDOS to everyone, and especially to Duke!
Now everybody stop pissing and be friends again!

I really enjoyed the event. I made an effort to try and be a part of this one because I'm not on that often and when I am it's usually during the less populated times. So I was quite content to play even a small role in it.
It was quite well done. The only problem in the city battle event for me was the lag during the battle itself. But that's not anyone's fault. In fact, the turn out of players was great and some really did get to stand out in battle.
For part two, that was made clear to be specific to people who had participated in the events building up to it. But it was restricted to just them. I was happy to tag along and be a part of it. The whole event was nicely set up and resolved most of the plot lines that the other events played out or were described here in the forums. Duke did a fantastic job managing a fairly large groups of players.
