Activity Log,
Miles McGonagle,
Emissary of the Summer Court to Sigil
This shall be the first of many entries into this log. I have been in the city of Sigil, known locally as ‘The Cage,’ for approximately a tenday. It is difficult to tell exactly, as the local mode of time keeping differs greatly from Arborea.
Thusfar, I have made a few contacts among the city’s transient adventurers. I was made a gift of a fine shield of zalantar wood by a generous soul. While exploring the complex known as ‘Undersigil,’ I encountered and worked with a vampire named Ipswich. He seemed a decent sort…darkly funny. I decided the best way to prevent him from attacking innocents would be to travel with him and keep an eye on him…I am starting to wonder if there is any such thing as ‘innocent’ in the Cage, though.
My skills with the bindings of Summer have grown. The opportunities I have been provided to use them have allowed me to study their nuanced uses in specific situations. I feel I can now acquit myself well in battle, between the use of binding spells and the strength of the veils taught to me by my tutors in the Summer Court.
I have also had some luck trying my hand as an enchanter, although primarily with wands. In touring the local marketplace, called ‘The Bazaar,’ I have noticed that there do not seem to be many dedicated wandsmiths. After some thought, I have decided to begin selling such things. I will be able to use my extensive tutoring in both arcane and divine magic to supply nearly any wand to customers. It will also allow me to interact more closely with the populace, and to supplement my stipend from the Summer Court (which, frankly, is not enough to cover the cost of living in the Cage.)
In terms of my standing assignments, I was successfully able to visit the Summer QueenÂ’s fury to the creatures of Ice. The frost giants there shall no longer thumb their noses at my LadyÂ’s power. I was also able to explore a small portion of the Abyss, and recover several lovely gemstones. Such things of beauty have no place in that land of filth. My Lady will be much pleased when I make a gift of the beljuril I found there. I shall have to find an appropriate setting for the gem, and have it taken back to her with my next intelligence report.
I recognize that I was given this assignment because it was considered distasteful, and that I, being human, have little chance to rise above my current station in the Court. I have resolved myself, however, to make the best of the situation. There is beauty in Sigil. I shall endeavor to find it, and to make sure it flourishes, protected by SummerÂ’s grace.

Emissary of the Summer Court to Sigil
My campaign against the githyanki of the Astral is coming to a close. I have managed to root out those among their enclaves who offer fealty to the Queen of Air and Darkness, and to offer them Summer's terms: desist, or be eliminated. Unsurprisingly, none of have taken the former option. The blood of many gith are on my hands, and their screams echo in my ears. It is difficult work, to say the least, but the Dark Queen's forces must not be permitted to gain strength, and the gith are a force to be reckoned with even without the powers of the Unseelie at their disposal.
In my dealings with the gith, I have come across several strange mechanical...gizmos, for lack of a better word. I have heard a sage on Dead God Rock collects them. I shall endeavor to look into the matter when I get the chance.
I find myself, in my down time, musing about how much I miss playing the flute. My tutors in the Summer Court were exceptional in matters of combat and magic, but I was only given a cursory education in the fine arts. Perhaps I shall purchase an instrument, the next time I visit the bazaar, and reacquaint myself with it.
I had a lovely conversation the other day with a woman in the bazaar. I think she may have been of elvish blood, although in the Cage, who knows? I had secured her services before as an enchanter, and her work was top-notch. This time, we exchanged names formally. She identified herself as Chassiel, giving no surname. We spoke briefly about the events of the day, and about wandcraft. It seems the market is flooded with wand carvers, currently, so I fear my aims to make a business out of it will fall flat. Still, it is a very useful hobby to maintain, and I shall endeavor to improve continually.
