Future-talk.
*the man looked down at the book he held in his hands, an old time-worn tome that could have easily come from a wizard's library or the cache of treasure.*
*As he opened the book, the pen seemed to float in the air, as if by some invisible hand. As the man watched the pen dip itself in ink, he began to speak, and the pen began to write. Any onlooker watching might think it magic, but if they looked closely, they might have seen a spectral figure standing next to the man, writing down every word that was said*
I come here guide spirits. Many many spirits here, some never seen before, like people. Met many faces. I told by spirits to keep joor-nal *the man slowly enunciated the word, any decently intelligent person could tell the man was uneducated* Help keep memory free I think. It hard to talk with people sometimes. They not listen to me. Other day there was great spirit evil, took control of man. But spirit not in him, was in blade. Spirit-fused. Charr-ee says was good blade once, but need cleansing. I try telling her spirit-fused so spirit-cleanse, but her and other man in armor not listen.
*the man takes a deep sigh*
It not like this in forest. Guide spirits freely, and sometimes lost people. Even animal listen to me. Spirit talk loud-loud, get angry when I not tell living what they want. I was in market, and more blade-cleansing talk. Spirit get so loud I had to spirit-wave them ((Chastise Spirits)). Me not like that, but hard me listen when lots of spirit-talk in ear and I try to listen and talk to people. Only Eesewnahday heard me. She nice. Other man in hood powerful spirit. He type not need spirit-talker after he pass. He know way.
*he cocks his head as if listening*
Oh yeah, spirit say I use this often. Keep track of stuff. Tell their story like old lady who gave memory to perdy lady and handsome man couple. They had tails, and pointy horns. Almost look like demon but muchly nicer. Even gave me new spear! I gave all jinks I had... I hope it nuff for them.
*the man nods once as if thinking then turns to his side*
I done now... close books.
*with that the quill slowly drifted back to the table, as if placed there, and the book closed softly. The man picked up the book and placed it in his pack and walked out of the inn. If one were to look close enough, they just might be able to see a spectral figure in the background, trailing the man before turning aside and passing through the wall*
