Basic Information
Name: Darremar Lle'Desnaibar
Aliases: Darremar
Gender: Male
Race: Appears to be a Moon Elf at first glance, however his actual race is Lai'Oo'ran
Age: Not readily evident.
Profession: A scholar and priest
Accent: His elven is of a very distinct and exotic dialect

Physical Information
Height: 5' 9"
Body build: Tall and thin
Skin type: Fair
Hair style: Very long (It reaches down to his boots.) and kept in a ponytail

Coloring:
Hair: White
Eyes: A mix of jade green with sapphire flecks

Miscellaneous:
Tattoos: Upon the expanse of his torso a black hand with fingers lightly spread covers much of the surface. The remainder is surrounded by holy script and also another script that is of a different language.

About his neck is a necklace made of prayerbeads that ends in an amulet. The holy symbol upon this black iron disc is that of a black handprint with fingers outstretched. The amulet is worn so that the disc hovers at chest level openly. At times he can be seen reading from a tome marked by the very same symbol.

Of further note is the fact that he will often go around hooded with his long hair tucked away out of sight. He wears bracers almost exclusively of late. His right hand is normal to note beyond it definitely being his offhand. His dominant hand is however scarred by some traumas in the past.

One would note scars that seem to run up to the sleeve of his tunic. In the unlikely event that one would see him without tunic one would note extensive scarring all over much of his body. Point of fact one might be inclined to think he has been through Hell and lived to tell the tale.

One might note that he seems to watch all that surrounds him. Not out of a seeming unease but rather like one would if they wished to observe and absorb information from their surroundings.

In flowing Lai'Oo'ran this passage is written
This place truly is a place of wonders to my eyes. I have considered the possibility of course but never did I expect to find someone here I knew from that other place.

I grow stronger in health each passing day and my thirst for knowledge knows no bounds. The question of all questions is how may I do my Mistress greater service in this new place.

Should I continue as I was, wandering scholar and man of faith? Should I share the word of Mistress Nycti through word or deed? Or should I strike a balance in between?

I hold no illusions, nor do I hold false ambitions. This place will never be as the land of my birth. There I was one man of faith amongst many of my faith. Here I cannot expect that when the scales of justice call forth a verdict that a Nyctite will be asked to render the sentencing and punishment.

I do so hear you Mistress Nycti. In that I find solace.

Where there is Light there is Darkness.
Where there is a Beginning there is an End.
Where there are those that pass judgement there are those that pass sentence.
Where there is Life there is Death.

In memory of those who come before me.
To the descendents that come after me.
I leave these words a humble scholar forevermore.

An excerpt of his notes in flowing Lai'Oo'ran is as follows...

The shadowy being that calls itself the Ashen is enigmatic at best. It seems at once detached and at once insatiable for knowledge.

More curious was the interaction I note this day between it and an old friend of mine. I probably could approach but I feel as though I would disrupt something better left to run the course it is naturally inclined.

It referred to my friend as the Argent. At least I believe it was referring to her. This figure cloaked in midnight black from head to toe is interesting.

It always speaks in a third person form. It seems to revel in lines of questioning that would stir feelings of negativity I suppose.

It is almost like it enjoys dischord. Further investigations are necessary to conclude this.

It also appears to enjoy great philosophical discussions. It does not seem to believe in absolutes for anything. Perhaps it cannot accept that possibility?

It seems to consider a great many things though. It does not refute with absolution. Interestingly enough it actually seems to consider the other side of the debate.

Again I note that it finds dischord in things. Even in my friend's argument it found notes of dischord which it pointed out to her.

Finally I discover what began the debate.
Apparently my friend had told it that Shady characters usually live to their cliche. How very interesting that they would start a debate over something so simple.

It seems the underlying purpose between their conversation is in fact to figure each other out. At the very least my friend does hold quite well to the debate.

The Ashen made an analogy of reading my friend to being like reading the beauty of a work of art. It relishes the challenge of reading her. I wonder if my friend feels anything akin to that right now?

Ahh like so many good things this debate came to a close for now. In all good form I must write. Perhaps she has polished some traits that are certainly aiding her here.

Mayhaps the debate did not finish after all. I write as I observe and that can sometimes lead to false conclusions before the way is sealed.

There it is again. The debate turned to the decay and end of things. The question raised is whether anything can have a lasting imprint upon this multi-verse.

The Ashen speaks of things being ever changing. Once they pass they can never be recovered. Do I accept that assessment? I cannot answer to that yet.

The Ashen finally states that my friend is missing the point. It is trying to convey a sense that nothing is fixed. My friend might have good reason to state otherwise but that too could be refuted in this debate.

It stated that the future is chaos. But is it truly chaos or merely uncertainty shrouded in fog?

A curious point was made of this being a place where Tieflings and Aasimar romance unchallenged. Where elsewhere that would be made a problem by higher powers of authority. I am unsure how that goes beyond proving a point that it is an example of something difficult to make sense of.

Although my friend has not outright stated a belief that all can be made sense of.

I noted then as my friend crossed her arms before her chest that she had reached her fill of the discussion. She has carried well through it all.

Another entry follows the prior in flowing Lai'Oo'ran

An odd event occurred in the latter part of the day. An armored figure bearing a grinning skull shield thrust a very well enchanted longbow into my arms.

Who would randomly gift someone that they did not know with an item of that quality? It is unlikely that any would do such.

That would mean that there is a chance I know this individual. Not that the kind gesture is not well received but, I do feel that sense of one that would wish that others at least keep such gifts small. I am not one of great needs after all.

When I see such things thrust into my possession. I am left with feeling indebted to whomever it was.

There is however, an alternate possibility that I find improbable. Mayhaps this individual merely found such frustration with the other individuals about and wished to impart the bow to a bystander not taking part in that rather chaotic bustle.

My suspicions still lean towards someone I know or someone whom knows me. Oh I have no doubt this was intended to aid in my protection. Why else would one gift a weapon?

Yet another mystery to unveil.

The Lai'Oo'ran found himself wandering aimless through the narrow streets. He was uncertain, uncertain of whence this seething anger came. It was oft-times just below the surface of late. As he stood observing at his favored place he felt it rising. Once, the elf recalled, he would have shrugged off annoyances as droplets of rain. But not now.

He found himself at last staring down the precipice of a portal. This place he knew. He stepped through. It had a name, Elysium, a new acquaintence had written it upon the ground for she could not speak.

Unbidden to the Lai'Oo'ran came images of a familiar face from long ago. Why did he just now think of her? He certainly did not view his new friend to be anything but. She has been kind to him. It had been far too long since he had experienced such.

He knew he needed to commune with his Mistress. He first needed to clear his thoughts for such thoughts would only serve to hinder his connection to her.

He found a shaded location to begin his service to her that night. He laid out a scant few items of his faith for his ritual. He lacked one item though. Or did he? The mirror image of the holy symbol had been cruely burnt into his chest by his tormentors.

Soon he would forge a new symbol but for now he needed only the mirror of it. He withdrew from his bag a bottle filled with a blessed inky black liquid. It was the liquid embodiment of her Darkness. He pulled out a brush and then opened his tunic. Black the Hand must be and so it had become.

Surrounding the Black open hand he marked in holy script prayers and litanies to his mistress. After marking his scarred chest in the blessed liquid he spoke aloud in his prayers to her. He closed his eyes and fully embraced the darkness that had enveloped him.

At the first hint of light he concluded his services to her. Upon packing his belongings he noted a renewed feeling. A good feeling. He was calm once more...

Written in flowing Lai'Oo'ran...

How odd it should be that I find myself in a familiar situation. I partly welcome the challenge to break the feeling that this new place is something of a vacation of sorts. How very odd that it is considered to be thus by some that I have spoken to.

Perhaps the lessons learned by once more becoming the mentor will indeed be a welcome familiarity. In memory of my former pupil ,to whom, fond memories I hold. Whilst the lessons are of a different form the end result is the same. One day the student will come on equal grounds with the teacher.

In flowing Lai'Oo'ran it is written...

I can see now in my student that I am gazing into a mirror of my own being. Partly true, at the very least, but not wholly the case. The student cannot fully come to grasp the lessons I have to teach unless she is willing to take those first steps.

Indeed she has taken the first steps. I await her report as it were, regarding her performance when I had deemed necessary to part with her company. From there I shall see where I need to focus most intently. She holds an aptitude to become proficient in the arcane. I do feel somewhat obligated to ensure she is set off to a good start. If she so chooses. Otherwise it shall be as the previous arrangement.

For now, even as I record my thoughts on the paper bound in this book, I can only muse at the simple sense of passing on one's knowledge to another. It is only proper after all. When I finally join my Mistress and rest eternal whatever knowledge I hold would forever rest with me.

I should entrust it in someone that is responsible. She could be that one.

The Lai'Oo'ran's boots clicked lightly on the stone tiles as he stepped into the threshold of the Hall of Records. Ever alert, the Lai'Oo'ran noted those present within.

Two snakes, a dagger between them , and a lightning bolt. That was the form the ring held. There were of course the presence of the coded letters and the apparent cipher with them.

What is needed most now is answers. The Lai'Oo'ran thought to himself even as he approached various shelves lined with tomes of all shapes and sizes. How far would he go in this pursuit? The Lai'Oo'ran considered even as he pulled a volume off the shelf and began to leaf through it.

He did not speak aloud nor would he entertain any whom were too inquisitive to his search. He would merely tell them he was preoccupied with his research. If they were particularly rude and inquired deeper he would merely tell them that he had more important matters to attend than their incessant questions. Brusque yet effective, the elf mused.

His search was for the sake of his student, nay his friend Lyra. "For my friend then, how far shall I go?" He scanned through the tome seeking first the symbology and then perhaps anything of written note that would relate to his search for the Brotherhood.

"Adversaries should always be given their fair duel." " I see within this brotherhood that duel commencing." "For my friend Lyra, how far then would I go?" The Lai'Oo'ran smirked faintly for he knew in that he could do no less for her or it would be an injustice. "I will kill them all, if need comes to it."

"He whom walks the shadowed way is he whom walks in a world between worlds." "Where there is Light, there is Darkness." The Lai'Oo'ran paused to consider further musings silently. "We die a little with each breath we yield and yet.... we live our lives with each passing breath."

"The will of my Mistress is unmistakable." "I walk a path of shadow." The Lai'Oo'ran laid down that tome and moved to another shelf. Searching with great care. This would take much time, he knew this. Time was of the essence though. He knew not how much time his friend has left.

With knowledge, one can know their enemy, anticipate his movements, and ultimately thwart him. The adversary has made the first few moves. Now it was his time to counter. But what would he counter with? Knowledge of the nature of this Brotherhood was essential to understanding how best to combat them.

First he must locate that singular element. The symbolism represented by that ring. A symbol represents a philosophy. Knowing that philosophy would be a great step towards knowing the adversary. Deeper the elf waded into the Hall of Records. He would not cease his search until he found what answers he sought.

Perhaps it would be wise to task his young friend to aid in this search. She is a keen eye for symbolism after all. Yes, he would insist she work on gathering information from that end. It might in turn yield insight that would point him in the direction of the correct tomes. Was that hopeful thinking? Or was it merely his intuition playing a hand here?

"By the Holy Darkness my mind is a myriad of thoughts now." When one's student was first and foremost one's friend. One could be thrown astray in a cloud of emotions. Right now he felt a gnawing worry for his friend. He held faith in her and yet he still wondered if it would not come to pass that one day he would come upon her in eternal rest? He of course realized that it was a romanticized notion. In all likelihood he would never know what became of her if that came to pass.

The Lai'Oo'ran would spend many, many hours in this place. He would spend much of his waking time indeed, searching for the knowledge to aid his friend...

This entry began in common at least as far as the translated note was concerned. Beyond that all was in Lai'Oo'ran...

"This time the cure has been given to you for free. Next time you will have to start doing the holy duties you were set in the multiverse for, child of mine. There will be more after you accomplish the job we will be assigning to you."
"Bishop, elder of the Brotherhood of the Snakes".

These words I write were the words scribed to the parchment given us this day. So much has happened in so short a time. What is written I shall make unwritten. The task I left in parting to Lady Vara shall hopefully yield new answers to the nature of our foes.

I can only pray my student forgives her brash mentor his loss of temper this day. I do suspect one thing. There was fear present. I wish to delve into that fear and discern more.

The strange man appeared again. We argued with him. He mentioned certain children being born every 90 moons. I assume they mean that such a child is marked by the beast. Our line of questioning led him to be executed apparently. The man that was disguised burst into flames and melted upon the floor of the Hall.

They also consider that those marked have no choice in the matter of joining. They are forced to it. However, it also occurs to me that my student's former mentor somehow rid himself of the curse. I now suspect that they use those marks to make members dependent on the temporary cures they provide. In exchange for staving off the beast mark they must serve without question.

Slowly, surely the Lai'Oo'ran made himself walk the last distance to the small space he had paid rent for. The cool rain of the Hive soothed his smoke and ash covered skin.

"A most interesting night indeed". The Lai'Oo'ran mused quietly to himself. His chest throbbed from where the tattoo had been shaded.

Again he asked himself why he had felt the inclination to go on such a hunt with Isonade. He knew the answer though, in many ways they shared similar philosophies. He was fascinated by such similarities in belief. She, a mercykiller, and he, a Nyctite.

The encounter with the Shade hovering around the Harmonium investigator had only been another highlight of his interesting evening. He would seek out that shadow if to only speak more with it of whatever plan it held.

At last, his hand came to the door of the house that served as an apartment of sorts to many including he. Inside he went. Assuredly enough there were those taking part in activities of lust as he made entry. He paid them no mind as he went for the ladder that led to his place.

He ascended slowly, surely. Into his shadowed domain. Already, he had noted that few dared to bother him up here. The dark presence of the room brought discomfort to many whom would not grant it the respect it deserved.

Whilst, mostly superficial in truth, his Mistress did not utilize such blatant measures of power on individuals. Indeed, here in Sigil such could perhaps anger the Lady. This all the Lai'Oo'ran considered once more as he laid his blade and belt against the small desk he made much use of. The single chair he owned was placed at it.

He would need to clean himself up first. The Lai'Oo'ran had decided. Down the Lai'Oo'ran descended to fetch some relatively clean water and soap so that he might at least maintain sufficient hygiene. He carefully cleaned himself up taking mind of the tattoo.

Afterwards, he redressed his tattoo and then his person in clothes. None dared to stray eyes on him for very long as his gaze once fixed upon them tended to encourage an aversion of eyes. He found it a difference between he and they that the sight of such natural form should draw curiosity. Afterall, we were all once born as such.

He then returned to his simply furnished room and moved to the bed where he drew up upon it and focused on finding meditative calm.

From there he slipped into Reverie.
