"I am Myel Da-Mai... and this is how I got here....."

"Many ages just before the Psion wars we were the most powerful of all the psions. However, our numbers were few. Nevertheless, we were never challenged, our wisdom was well respected, and our authority mattered over all other psionic species. We were the Da-Mai. Many psions use a myriad of stones and crystals to channel and enrich thier powers. We Da-Mai married ourselves to one. The amythest stone. We formed its crystals and embedded them into staffs. We forged them into weapons. Instead of steel our swords were blades of sharpened amythest. Instead of wood, our staffs were purple rods of unbreakable glass. Instead of darts or flame we psionically hurled lavendarpink shards. Each weapon had the mental affect we wanted. That was the joy of wielding the amethyst. We could combine all the powers of all the stones into it save one.... The Ruby."

"The Ruby's greed was as deeps as its color and as dangerous as the blood in which it resembled. I was chosen with a few others to investigate this anomoly. We discovered that rubies had a certain connection to those who shed blood...especially those who shed blood to the point of death. We Da-Mai believe that the life of the flesh is in the mind. The Ruby indeed showed us that the life of the flesh is in the blood. Both life and death. My partner in this investigation was a stone elemental (in your world we call them earth genasis) named Sphevious. His heritage was of the onyx essence yet he grew to love the amythest like his Da-Mai comrades."

"Our findings with the Ruby made him obsessive. He surpassed us all in our studies. Within days he was wielding the ruby power as though he was born to do so. His natural racial affinity with stones gave him more of an edge. Soon he was more powerful than me. He was driven mad with power. He found ways to destroy the essence of life itself at a mere thought. Every bird of the forest and fish of the sea was at risk. Finally we decided to band against him. He formed an army known as the E'Roi. I lead my Da-Mai, the Da-Kai, and the Da-Blu into the first battle of what later became known as The War Of Psions."

"We needed more minds. I made a pact with the gods. They blessed my race (the Yelvari) with psionic abilities. I began to train my blood brothers as Da-Mai. Now, we were not only powerful but we were many. This did not come without cost. When the war was over and the E'Roi were defeated. The blessed Yelvari had to lock themselves away deep in the Valleys Of The Fallen. There they would spend eternity in a vegetative state. They were not born with thier powers and once given by the gods they could not give them back. Therefore they would not be able to wield them. This was the only way. I knew the price going into it. I did warn them of it. For if I had, they would have never fought with me. Alas, balance was achieved but nothing comes without cost..."

"I lamented for ages until I stumbled upon a prophecy. This prophecy would mean the birth of a child and the fate of the world."

"Think you've heard this story before?"

"Think again."

"I am sent to find this child. I will begin my search in Sigil. The closest resemblance to any assistance I may need can only be found with the Signers Of One. The prophecy is impossible to fulfill but this child's birth is not. Let us find the one whom shall bring THE END OF ALL PEACE."

"I am Myel. The last Da-Mai."
