Background stuff.

Orionis belongs to the Radvayar Clan, a clan of humans with dragons blood coursing through their veins. Their village is located along the southern edge of the spine of the world, along the sword coast. When members come of age, they go through a proving. The elder chooses a location for them to enter and study. The individual however is not told what they have to do. The whole point of the trial is to kick the younger generation out of the nest to experience the world for themselves. During this time is usually when their draconic bloodline becomes more apparent, and they start taking on some of the features (mostly just the appearance of some light scaling on their face, hands and back, but some notable members of the clan even grow wings.)

When the individual does in fact make it home, only then does the clan consider them a true adult.

Orionis' Journal

I can't believe the elder just shoved me through a portal after telling me to prove myself to the rest of the clan, without an explanation of any sort! Now I am stuck in this giant city called Sigil with no way home. Well, least I still have my instruments.

As I write this though, it is day two of my being here. I never had a journal but I figured writing one would come in handy, so who knows.

There are A LOT of tiefling women about... plenty of them rather attractive, but I am too afraid to approach em at the moment. I can definitely say that this sity has a unique... atmosphere about it.

There is an open air tavern that sells horrible ale. Oh how I miss the spiced ale my Uncle brews for the clan.

Well... I really am coming to age I suppose, I am starting to get the tell-tale scales forming on my skin.

As for what this proving is, I have no idea, so I might as well enjoy the sights while I am here.
