Zoel felt her head jolted backwards. She roared in agony, as the lash beat her, it struck again and did not stop. She felt a shiver down her spine, she knew she wanted to cry but she would not let them see her fall to tears.
The Nine Hells. Of all the places she could end up this definatley had to be the least enjoyable vacation spot. She drew a sharp breathe anticipating the next slash as it came she growled out the scream as her Eryines tormentor smirked and cupped her chin leaning her up.
"Your ressiliance makes you strong, slave, does the pain drive you, or the anger?" She asked with a curious and hungry tone.
"Both..." Zoel replied with a cold glare of utter contempt for the creature standing infront of her.
"Hmn..." said the Eryines in curious reponse, she waved her hand to the captors. "Unbind this ones shackles."
"I will kill you..." Zoel promised with a ruthless tone.
The Eryines chuckled and shook her head. "Im more than a little confident you wont. But I do have a proposition that might change your perspective."
That was the moment it struck her far sharper than any whip could. She felt a strange buzz hit the back of her neck as she gulped.
"What proposition?"
The Eryines waved a hand and a new slave was brought fresh for tourture, she looked across and saw with wide eyes it was her sister Muetha.
"You bitch!" She glared at the Eryines who chuckled grimly. She stroked her face as the woman lashed out only to be restrained by two Devil guardians holding her back forcefully. She grunted as she cupped Zoel's face. A shiver ran down her spine from the discomfortingly gentle touch that contrasted her usual torment.
The helpless slave girl looked up with hope filled eyes at her sister. She looked at her longingly for a friend and some salvation in this place of dispair.
Emotion ran through Zoel like a wild fire and no longer could she keep it back.
"Dont you touch a hair on her head! Or I will tear yours from your scalp!"
The Eryines gasped a sigh of delight. "So much fire... yes, you needent worry, I wont bring her any harm..."
She looked at her confused, as she presented her whip to Zoel. "You will."
All at once the womans confronted emotions hit a sudden pause. She looked at her defiantly. "I refuse."
"Thats fine..." the devil snapped her fingers as two of the guard approached the woman. The younger girl started to breathe in panic as she looked at her sister for help. They laughed and gripped her clothing before tearing free her upper dressing.
"No!" Muetha cried in protest. She sobbed as they began to defile her, Zoel looked at the Eryines glaring.
"Stop it!" She protested desperatley. But it was no use, the perverse creature licked her lip with anticipation. "I will stop it, if you start..."
She took a deep breathe and glared at Muetha. She couldnt hurt her sister, she could hate and loathe and despise this creature but she couldnt do it.
But watching her suffer only made her see her own suffering as a reflection. She felt pity, desperation clung to her as she looked at the Eryines desperatley.
"Stop! Stop... ...give me the whip."
She purred darkly and held the lash to Zoel as the guards let her arms free.
The other Devils retreated from their quarrey frustratedly as Zoel looked at Muetha. She stared at her with a grim expression.
"S-sister... ...we have to get out of here." The young girl said pleadingly, misunderstanding the predicament she was in as Zoel took the whip calmly.
"I know..." Zoel replied with a grim expression, holding it unfurled as she looked at the Eryines.
"I know..." She held the whip in her hand tightly, thinking of all the hate she had poured into the creature.
"Close your eyes Muetha, do not ask why, do it.... never open them, never, do you understand?"
She looked confused. "I...I dont understand."
"Do it..." she said with a commanding tone.
Muetha shut her eyes as Zoel's anticipation grew, she looked at the Eryines with a dark expression, whom reflected it with a knowing delight. She clearly took a perverse pleasure in turning her against her own sibling. But Zoel understood the necessity of cruelty.
She had after all been sent, rather unfairly here, by her peers only for her legion to be slaughtered. She saw all of her brothers and sisters die, tourtured to death in agony screaming. They screamed but she would not, she would not let these devils see her fear, only her hatred.
She pressed a reassuring and on Muetha's back as the girl shivered. "Sister... why must I close my eyes?"
"Promise me you wont open them..." She said to Muetha.
"I...I promise..." she said confused and fearful.
Zoel nodded understandingly and raised the whip, looking at the Eryines grimly. The Devil said with a delightful tone. "Make her beg..."
Zoel stared at her emptying herself of all regreat. Instead she focused on how much she utterly despised the creature, how much she wanted to kill her.
She took the whip tighter in her hand, and clenched it feircley as her hatred burned into an ambition. Casting aside her sister she understood if she wanted to avenge her, she would first have to punish her.
For being such a stupid girl, risking her life, endangering herself, becoming a liability to her own rage.
She finally found the contempt to hate her sister, it was a difficult thing to do, but with that in her mind she willed herself to begin.
The Lashing would take several hours, the Eryines was not satisfied as her sister began to scream. She knew she was crying, sobbing, whimpering for mercy. She begged untill her lungs hurt and yet the Eryines was not satisfied.
She kept whipping her untill she was beginning to forget why she whipped her. She even made sure she was blind folded so she could not see who was responsible. She spoke distantly at all times as each session went on, reassuring Muetha that it was going to be alright.
And each time she knew it was a lie each time, it became harder to lie to her.
The Eryines had granted Zoel a reward, the reward of freedom of movement. She had even let her explore the tourture chambers and inspect her fellow comrades suffering. She explained to her the necessity of it all, she purred understanding just how much Zoel hated her.
"Do you realise there are bigger things in the multiverse than your bitter grudge against me?" She said persuasivly as Zoel looked at her with a tampered glare. By now her eyes were bloodshot, practically burning with hatred.
"Like what?" Zoel replied with a cold fury, filled to a point of rage barley contained. She struggled not to hate her this very moment, she wanted nothing more than to strangle her to death.
But the guards would have something to say about that. Each time she had lashed out the guards replied quickly and beat her for it, frustrating her untill she had long since stopped trying a direct approach. She listened intently, grudgingly, to the Eryines words.
"Like the very way that things exist. Do you realise what ive been doing for you? Im helping you, I saw in you potential, potential I have refined from you. I have forged you from a whimpering woman into a tampered blade. You feel only hate now, only loathing for me, for everything I am, you want me dead because I made you want me dead more than anything else. Yet..." The Eryines paused with a grim sense of delight.
The anticpation vexed Zoel with a growing malice. "Yet what?" She asked with bitter frustration.
"...Yet you have not struck me or tried to for the past two weeks now. It has been three months since I trained you, since I first made you strike your sister. Even now you continue to strike her. You continue to hate her, why dont you end it right here and now."
Zoel felt bile in her throat at the implied suggestion. She couldnt stand to see her sister cry, she couldnt stand, seeing her beg for her life. She couldnt take watching her suffer anymore and worst of all, she just hated her for being so pathetic.
...Slowly a dark revalation began to unfold on Zoel. She hated her sister, she had always hated her. From the very start Muetha had the looks, the love, the profitability, the high life.
She had scrapped from the very slums, foraged and knelt before every lord that offered, even for services she could remember all too well.
She had bled dry for one mistress that used her, and she had done damage to another that longed to be used. She could no longer remember how long it had been since a sane thought crossed her mind.
Siblings, were meant to love each other, they were meant to care for each other and respect each other. Yet Muetha had only ever become a liability, a damsel in distress for some whimsicile hero to get in the way and rescue her, while leaving Zoel in the dirt.
How dare she... how selfish could she be?
"Why do you continue to make me bitter, why do you forge me into such a creature of hatred?" She asked with the last threads of dignity fading.
"Because it is what you were born to be. You feel it in you, you were made for blood letting and soul rending. I even heard you tried to be taken seriously by a certain deity, Hextor, was it? Only to be laughed at by his faithful, and striken down like a joke."
She felt that utter contempt burn in her once more.
"I, am no joke." She said with a longing glare at the Eryines. "I will proove to you that I can be a terrible being... you have made me that much."
She laughed, placing a hand on her face warmly. "Yes, I have... and you will now show me what you have learned..." She leaned to her ear and whispered darkly. "By ending that which holds you back."
Zoel understood what she had to do.
She walked into the room where her sister, now lashed brutally and covered in serrations mewled in a corner, bound and blindfolded. She probably couldnt even tell where she was anymore. She heard the helpless woman mewling for mercy, curling into a ball for comfort.
She would change that. "Shut up!" She cried to Muetha who suddenly jolted.
"Z-zoel.... ...your here, you've come to save me!" She said with a desperate plea. "Please...please let me out of these bonds, help me free, help me escape, we can go home together."
"Together?" Zoel replied with a grim expression. "Am I a trophie for your amusement now Muetha?"
Muetha tilted her head. "N-no... no you are not you are my sister and I love y-"
"SILENCE!" Zoel said with a sharpness that caused the woman to shake backwards. She curled up into a ball once more, it was true, she was a weak, pathetic obsticle that kept Zoel from having her revenge. She had too long been trying to love it like keeping a pet that needed to be fed and tended to all the time.
She just didnt care for that kind of responsibility anymore.
"No..." she said with a sudden emptiness, smiling as she approached Muetha. She gently stroked her face warmly as the woman kneedingly leaned into it longing for a sibling caress and some kind of compassion.
"You are right... siblings must tend to each other..." She pulled her blindfold back. "I want you to see how I tend to you, as my final gift."
Muetha looked at her wide eyed as she saw the woman dressed in the leathery outfit, bonded to the Eryines liking, humilated, scarred and battered. She held in her free hand a sharp flail with several long blades. On her chest was the mark of Hextor, carved in blood.
Muetha's lips moved but they would not speak. She looked at her with tearful eyes, seeing now all along it was Zoel who had hurt her, betrayed her.
"W-why?" She said with fear and pain.
"Because you are an object in my path..." Zoel replied calmly. "I cannot avenge you if you are still alive, sister."
Her eyes widened fearfully.
"NO!" She yelled as her dressing became soiled.
Zoel struck, and struck and continued to strike untill the screaming began to fade. She rended and raked and heard the shrieks and whimpering tears, she felt her die with all the fury and malice that had been poured into her. She felt only relief and relaxation as she finally ended the thing that held her back.
Then she turned to see the Eryines looking at her with a pleased expression.
"You are perfected."
Not yet, Zoel replied inwardly, she lifted the flail and lashed now at the Eryines. But the flail coiled around one of her guardians arms as they roared in pain, yanking it from Zoels hands.
The Eryines chuckled darkly as the guards held Zoel down and started to strip off her clothing. She felt a sudden double betrayal. She looked over her shoulder as a leery guard looked at her with a dark grin and a long flail, hers, now in his hand.
"Not quite it seems..." The Eryines laughed and stuffed a gag into her throat as she roared in protest.
"Finish her..." She commanded her minions, as Zoel looked at them wide eyed, she clenched her eyes shut.
She knew this was only the beginning, of the end.
Zoel felt her head jolted backwards. She roared in agony, as the lash beat her, it struck again and did not stop. She felt a shiver down her spine, she knew she wanted to cry but she would not let them see her fall to tears.
