What's that, cutter? Yer asking about that smiling, happy fiendish-looking girl hanging around the marketplace? Embra?

Yeah, she's an oddball.

You wouldn't expect an Abyssal native to be of an agreeable sort, but there it is. Probably just a phase she's going through.

That's what her parents say, anyway.

Oh yeah, her parents. First there's General Krall, brother to the deserter Grull. Both balors, both big and red. Fairly unique among most balors in that they were born that way, from big balor parents. No soul warping done here. Most say that's where everything goes wrong, when it comes to Tanar'ri anyway.

That brings us to Embra's mother, Hillendi. Some sort of Tiefling from a Prime world that got caught up in a Blood War skirmish. There's a story in there somewhere, most Abyssal berks won't never hear it, though.

Official story is that a Baatezu army overwhelmed the old General's position. Actually had the Tanar'ri outnumbered, which usually ain't good for the demonic side. Krall was marked down in the deadbook. He wasn't the only one.

Only problem was, he showed back up about a week later, some Tielfling-lookin' broad hanging on his arm, and a big growl for anyone with questions. The Baatezu heads on his belt kept down most questions though.

I think they call it "Mortal Corruption," cause he just weren't never the same after that. In any case, most bashers say that's where the old General went barmy. Set up a Fortress on the Plain of Infinite Portals and mostly kept to himself, whackin' any sod what tried to attack it. Kept a big enough army 'round that most anyone didn't think it worth the trouble, neither.

When he and the missus had themselves a little fiendling, no one said much neither. And nobody what nobody was allowed ta treat the little girl anything short o' nice and sweet.

But kids get big, and they get big ideas. Little Embra didn't think much of the big career paths fer most good-lookin' Abyssal babes. Seduction or Blood Warring, of course. These kids and their delusions of making their own way with magic, or somethin! I ask you! And I'm jest the court magician.

Anyway, you see that kid anywhere in Sigil, you tell her that nobody ain't never heard of a shy half-demon skank. Maybe her father'll stop whackin' me over the head fer lettin' her run off, too.
