Solus... a name I had forgotten. Yes, long ago, I took that name too. It was the only time I took a name that wasn't my given one before coming to Sigil. It was a name that reflected my feelings of confusion and lack of worth. Translated into common it means "alone." I now recall it all these years later as I am alone once more.

Zilvai chanced upon me while I was out reading on the patio of the villa. It was a perfect chance to tell her about the room I had built for her. She was really surprised when I told her. She asked if Geir could stay too, which surprised me. For one, I have barely seen Geir at all recently, which I thought was strange since Zilvai told me the two were going to marry. Second, I made a trip to the beastlands a day or so back to my favorite meditation spot, the waterfall. I wasn't the only one there, though. As I rounded the bend, I saw Zilvai and Mir sitting near the shore. The two were embraced... and Mir was naked. I was surprised at the sight but I didn't want to doubt Zilvai. I made that mistake before and it almost cost us our friendship. However, if Geir has been neglecting Zilvai, might she not be tempted to seek companionship with another? In the end, I decided to trust Zilvai and quietly left.

This is why her question surprised me. I had the room built with the intent of Geir staying too and I told Zilvai that. She seemed to be very happy when she heard that and I was sort of relieved, yet still worried about what I had seen. Alexia, the Succubi maid that looked after the previous villa and returned when she heard it was rebuilt, guided Zilvai through the hall to me. After her usual (and unwanted) flirting, she left to tend to the rest of the villa while I showed Zilvai to her room. Zilvai was really happy with the amount of space she had, and, of course, had a lot of suggestions to spruce it up to her taste. I told her to draw a sketch and I would get everything set up.

After a few questions about living in the villa, I invited Zilvai to have dinner with me out on the patio. As we waited, we spent the time speaking with each other. Zilvai told me about an old friend from her world named Mara. They were best friends and even comrades trying to bring order to a powerful mages guild. The discussion lead to ethics and we both found we have much in common. We both want to hope everyone is capable of goodness yet realize we can't sacrifice innocent lives for the sake of our hopes. And so we will do what we must to protect our friends. We're also willing to accept our darker sides and don't try to pretend they don't exist. Zilvai said I'm like the goddess Luna in how I wield both darkness and light. Wasn't I saying the same thing about Zilvai a few nights back?

Alexia then appeared with our tray of food. After setting it down, she proceeded to flirt with me (again), and Zilvai just had to join in and make me feel even more uncomfortable. After Alexia left, Zilvai said Alexia doesn't seem that bad and might have a real crush on me. She even offered to talk to Alexia about it. While that may be the case, I'm not interested in relationships at the moment and I told her so. My heart is still numb after Rozalin. I told her she's welcome to talk to Alexia, though. She said she'd certainly get the chance if she moved in and then said she might move in even if Geir doesn't move in with her.

Granted, hearing Zilvai would move in no matter what made me happy, but her statement about Geir had me wondering again. I couldn't help but ask if things were okay between the two. She said they were and asked why I was curious. I told her about how I haven't seen the two of them together lately. She explained that Geir had been staying in her home plane lately and has become very anti-social. This is kind of ironic considering how Zilvai used to be. Now Zilvai is trying to help Geir to be more open, supposedly. I told Zilvai that as long as she's happy and content, I wished the best for both of them, but Zilvai could see something was wrong and asked me to speak my mind. I then told her that I saw the two of them together. Zilvai explained she promised to spend the day with Mir since she wasn't feeling well.

I told her I believed her and wanted to explain my worry, but then father, Dom, and that giant hound I've seen in the bazaar appeared. Apparently someone was after some secret stash of father's and he was working up a tizzy. Zilvai was annoyed by the interruption and, after a playing a bit with father's game; I carried our trays into the house. At first, I thought Zilvai was angry, but she was just joking around. She then asked what I was trying to say outside. I then told her how I also saw that Mir was undressed and was worried that loneliness was getting to Zilvai. Zilvai crossed her arms and sighed. She explained that she was very annoyed with Mir's actions and the only reason she didn't stop Mir was because Mir had been so depressed. Otherwise Zilvai would've slapped her. She doesn't think Mir understands what it means to be faithful to one person.

This news greatly relieved me and asked if everything was well between Zilvai and Geir then, expecting a positive response. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. Zilvai is frustrated that Geir is so anti-social and dependent on her. I sighed and asked if Zilvai had try talking to Geir about it, but it looks like the two have barely spent any time together at all. They just say a few words, share a hug, and off they go. I didn't know what to say! Part of me wants the relationship to work out, yet if they're drifting this far apart...

I just stepped forward and hugged my sister. I told her that maybe things will improve in time. She agreed but said, if it didn't work out, it would be the fifth time a relationship didn't work for her. I told Zilvai that no matter what happens, she won't be alone. I will always be there for her. That greatly relieved her and she hugged me back tightly. I hugged her tightly as well and told her something I once told Kalina. I told Zilvai she was a strong, beautiful woman that deserved to be loved and respected. And I told her she shouldn't settle for less than what she deserves. My words brought a blush to her face. She said thanks but doubted the truth of those words at times. I responded by saying it's the undeniable truth and that love is happy with the truth. Zilvai suddenly went silent and looked uncomfortable as she put her mask on. I asked if anything was wrong but she said no. She then wondered what the rest of my family was up to.

And right on cue, Anastasia, the name father gave the strange hound, entered the villa and went right into Zilvai's room! For whatever reason, Zilvai wasn't happy at all with that and stormed after Anastasia. I followed and the two of us found her sleeping right in front of Zilvai's bed. Zilvai started shouting at her and even drew her sword as she started growling at Anastasia. While Zilvai's antics almost had me laughing, I got worried when she drew her sword. I asked her what was wrong and she explained the hound was some kind of spirit and had directly spoken with her mind. Zilvai found this very uncomfortable because she didn't like the idea of her thoughts being invaded. Anastasia woke up at this time and I tried to politely explain Zilvai's discomfort to her. She seemed to understand and quietly left the room.

After that, I snapped my fingers as I realized I had forgotten to give Zilvai her room key. As I reached into my pocket, my fingers bumped into another metallic object. I recognized the decorated band as my fingers touched it, recalling for whom it had been meant for. As I handed Zilvai her room key, I thought of all the hopes and dreams I once had for Rozalin... and how they were now gone. I thought of Zilvai's plight with Geir, and then smiled as I told Zilvai I had one more gift for her. I reached back into my pocket and pulled out an un-inscribed ring. Feeling it one more time in my palm, I gently laid it into Zilvai's palm. I explained to her it was enchanted with powerful healing magic and that I could restore the magic in it should she ever exhaust it. I apologized for being unable to find her mother's amulet, but hoped my ring would bring her comfort.

Zilvai slipped it over her finger, the sight bringing the vision of a dream I once had. It took all my willpower to keep from crying. She then hugged me and said it would comfort her. I knelt down to hug her fully and told her I would pray to every god and goddess of love that things would turn out okay for her. And she said they already sent her a guardian, meaning me. I couldn't help but smile at that and I leaned in to kiss her brow. We held each other for a long time, and I silently prayed that the ring I had given Zilvai, the wedding band meant for Rozalin, would bring Zilvai the happiness it could no longer bring me. Finally, my will broke and a tear streamed down my face. But I turned my head and wiped it away so Zilvai could not see it.

I needed to go for a walk and asked Zilvai if she would like to join me as we released each other from the embrace. She agreed and we made our way outside. Our "walk" turned into an excursion into Carceri with Hildmor and eventually Dom. Fighting always seems a great outlet for grief. I lost all sense of time as I tore through the demodands that it seemed only like a second later when Zilvai said she wanted to leave the plane and rest at the villa. We fought our way out of the plane and, after saying goodbye to Hildmor and Dom; I walked with Zilvai back to the villa. As she went to her room I went to mine... my empty room... with its empty bed. No one to hold on to. No one to care for. Solus.

My sleep was restless once again. Visions of the past aside, I'm starting to dream about Rozalin. I keep relieving the time we spent together. Dinners at the inn, talking, dancing, walks in the forest and along the beach, the cruise, our love making, everything. I miss her so much. I try so hard to keep it from others and uplift the spirit of others, but I'm not sure how much longer I can keep it up. It's good that my family is around, Zilvai in particular. I enjoy spending time with her.

Late in the evening I ran into her outside the Beastlands portal. I told her I received her sketch and would soon get to work decoration her room as she wanted. Her one drawing had me confused and she explained it was going to be a spell channeler. Apparently you can cast spells into it and it allows you to mix spells together. I told her I'd need a little help with that and she said she only needed the arcs set up. The runes she would handle herself.

The topic moved on to Geir but it seems like nothing has changed. I just repeated what I said yesterday about Zilvai being beautiful. She then playfully poked me and told me to stop. I was making her all tingly. She started to get really jumpy and I asked what was wrong. She said she was tired of lying around and wanted more activity. I suggested a game of kick ball but we didn't have enough players and she didn't want to play with total strangers. I mentioned giving those swimming lessons I promised and she grimaced again. I could have sworn she said she wanted me to teach her to swim later, but the last two times I've mentioned it she didn't seem happy at all about it. I asked her if she still wanted those lessons. She started to bob up and down in frustration, and then she sighed and hugged me as she said she didn't want to. Still confused, I decided to just let it drop. Zilvai will tell me if she wants to.

I suggested a plane walk into the Abyss then Carceri, but that didn't interest Zilvai either. I then came up with one last idea. I suddenly picked her up, hoisted her into the air, and sat her down on my shoulders! For a moment, she sat there stunned, then suddenly cried out "Onwards!" as she drew her sword like a knight on a charging horse. Our laughter could be heard as we ran through Sigil's streets as we played our game. Zilvai a knight in shining armor and I her trusty dragon steed! We eventually reached the bazaar and charged into the Spirit. (Ducking low so Zilvai wouldn't hit her head on the door frame.) We then charged through the common room, some of the patrons looking at us perplexed while others ignored us completely. Annoyingly, no one else wanted to play in our game save Muriel. Guess some people don't know how to have fun. I wish Dom, Jach, Kalina, and Gwynn had been there. Still we had some fun with Muriel but Zilvai said she was getting tired. I carried her back to the villa on my shoulders and took her to her room. Not feeling tired yet, I wished her goodnight and went back out into Sigil.

I went for a walk and eventually found myself in the bazaar. To my surprise, I saw Granite Stonejaw! The earth Genasi harmonium I haven't seen for the longest time. There was a crowd gathered around him and I approached out of curiosity. Granite spotted me and shouted that the two of us needed to talk now. Vara was there, none too pleased to see me, and Granite told her to follow him as he marched off. It took a while for me to respond because of my surprise at seeing him. But before I could ask anything he cut me off and said I was right and he was wrong. I asked about what and he just kept marching.

I followed after Granite with Vara and he led us to the beastlands portal. He was apologizing to her and saying it wasn't him, meanwhile I still didn't know what was going on. After entering the portal, she demanded he explain but he wanted us to go further in. After fighting our way through the Unseelie, we made our way up the path that eventually leads to the waterfall. He walked to the edge, started to meditate, and suddenly said he made a terrible mistake. I asked in regards to what and he said hatred. His feet seemed to dig into the ground and suddenly his skin turned to bark and sprout leaves as he turned into a treant. I was surprised because I recognized it to be Long Leaf, the treant that had approached me and Ixia in Sigil once at the bar. Once I said the treant's name, Granite explained that he was Long Leaf and Granite. He then said I was right about Raifael.

I had only met the man on a few occasions, though I can't say I care much for Raifael. He kidnapped Kalina and tried to kill her. Still, I had heard that he was once a good Harmoium guard and took an interest when I was told about his drastic changed. After I captured him, I performed an exorcism to see if he was possessed. However, the exorcism ended in failure and I thought that the end of it. But just before I showed up in the bazaar earlier, and evil entity took over Granite and he saw memories. He thought they were visions of his internal struggle, but he realized they were the memories of the creature that was possessing Raifael! In his madness, Granite tried to kill Vara, but he subdued by those present. Once he was done, the creature left him and people saw a black mist with glowing red eyes. Someone tried to banish it, but the magic had no effect on it. It seeped into the cracks of the city and went into the ground.

This presents an odd puzzle. If exorcism failed and it couldn't be banished, then the creature can't be any form of outsider. Granite also had a true sight spell cast, so what he saw was what he saw. It wasn't an illusion. Granite suggested using a Magic Circles against Evil spell to bind the creature. The question is how? I need to find some way to destroy this creature before it possesses another person.

I've had no luck in my search for the creature that possessed Raifael and Granite. I will check up with Granite when I next see him. As I took a break to write in my journal, I heard foot steps and looked up to see Zilvai... carrying a dragon plushie. The plushie was prismatic and changed to different colors depending on how the light was cast on it. She said she purchased it earlier in the bazaar and it didn't have a name yet. I suggested since he looked like a rainbow the name should reflect that. She held it up in front of her to look at it. She then smiled and said "CeeCee". I asked her if it meant anything and she explained it was the initials of her birth name, Cecania Coraline. I leaned in to kiss her brow and said it's the most beautiful name she could give the dragon.

Zilvai then turned to look at me. Her eyes may be a blank white, but her smile showed how happy she was. She thanked me for everything and I in turn thanked her. Love works both ways, after all. She then hugged me so tightly and I hugged her back. I nuzzled my face into her hair and then leaned down to kiss her brow. As my lips left her skin, she yawned quietly in my arms, rested her head on my shoulder, and her grip finally loosened. I leaned back a little and asked if she was tired. She started to rub at her eyes as she "Mhmmed". I chuckled as I pulled away and asked if she'd like another piggy back ride, but this time she wanted the noble prince to carry the tiny princess.

After carefully carrying Zilvai into her room, I gently laid her down onto the bed and tucked her in. As I kneeled to comb my fingers through her hair and hum a lullaby, she drifted into blissful sleep as she hugged her new friend, CeeCee. As she slept, I prayed to my goddess to protect her and fill her life with love and passion. I prayed she would help Zilvai realize how beautiful a woman she is. After finishing my prayer, I carried a chair over so I could sit down next to her as she dreams. And here I am now scribbling into my journal in the dim light. Sleep peacefully, dear Zilvai. I wish I could stay longer, but I have to keep searching. I'll be back before you wake.

The day has been fairly uneventful and now once again I find myself tucking Zilvai into bed. She soon drifts off to sleep as I hum the lullaby I learned from Aska, but something is different this time. Now lyrics come to dance with the melody.

I watch you now just sleeping there,
innocent life deserving care.
So rest in peace as my heart sings,
take shelter beneath angel wings.

Oh wondrous love,
Oh deepest passion,
The beauty of
the heart's confession.

The greatest gift to ever know
to be held by arms that love so.
Hold onto me forever more,
our love will continue to soar.

Oh wondrous love,
Oh deepest passion,
The beauty of
the heart's confession.

Sure as the sun flies through the sky,
I'll love you 'til the day I die.
Forever more, my heart's request
to fill your life with happiness.

Today I finally had the chance to sit down with Mir and learn Abyssal like we promised each other. Well, originally how it was supposed to work was my friend Bergimon would teach Mir Draconic while she in turn taught me Abyssal as a favor to him. However, since I also knew Abyssal, it makes more sense for us to teach other at the same time. Mir proved to be a quick study despite having little knowledge of the Draconic alphabet, but she and Bergimon had already gone over it a bit. Abyssal also came natural to me since I already knew Infernal. We both made excellent progress and are eager for our next lesson.

After that, a friend of Bergimon's arrived, a vampire woman named Anastasia. Having been in Sigil for some time, I didn't react as most Paladins would. I greeted her calmly and had an interesting conversation with her. She used to be a half elf before becoming a vampire, and I learned Bergimon is attempting to recover her soul. He's working on an experiment to create "unlife," which is a state of being undead but still containing your soul or so I gathered. Bergimon would like this for himself as well. I wished Anastasia the best of luck and even told her she could take my own blood if she found herself in a state of blood starvation. Bergimon pointed out that whenever Anastasia requires blood, they always head to Under Sigil and sate her by clearing out the sewers, but you never know what might happen in the future. Regaining your soul... that's a cause I'd be more than willing to fight for and I want to make certain Anastasia gets every chance she can.

Later in the evening I ran into Zilvai outside the inn. She was going to help a man named Vimil journey to the Astral plane and was serving as the guide. However, she didn't know when he was going to show up and was just waiting around. Kreeyzia then walked out of the inn and greeted us and it wasn't long until Hildmor showed up. The two embraced each other while Zilvai and I watched, half hugging each other as we usually do. Then... Kree started making some statement that made me very uncomfortable. She was implying that Zilvai and I were... intimate. I'm glad Zilvai wasn't able to figure out what Kree was saying!

Zilvai and I intimate? I mean, yes, there was a time I was attracted to Zilvai. It was when she first came to Sigil, but that was when she had none of her memories. The thought of seeking companionship had only just entered my mind after six years of mourning for Aska, and I didn't think it right to pursue that kind of relationship with Zilvai in her state anyway. It turned out to be a wise decision because Zilvai was already involved with someone. And when that relationship ended and I saw her again after some time, I was with Rozalin. And when Rozalin left me, she had already started a new relationship with Geir. Granted that relationship is now over, *Smudge Stain*

While there was never a chance for romance, Zilvai and I became very close friends to the point we now think of each other as siblings. I even offered to adopt her into the Sensbane family. I care for Zilvai deeply and I don't know what I'd do if I were to loose her. *Smudge Stain*

Didn't I tell Rozalin the same once?

Zilvai offered to let me sleep with her yesterday at the museum, not that I asked, of course! What happened is that I suggested we go visit the museum to pass the time after she left a message for Vimil with Khazeet. While there, I got to talking about how much time it had been since my last trip there with Rozalin. I mentioned how much I missed her and how lonely the nights now felt, and then Zilvai suddenly offered to let me sleep with her. She says she likes to cuddle all the time with friends and she didn't feel it was intimate at all. She's so innocent at times.

Still, we are brother and sister, and so long as it's jus*Smudge Stain* WhatamIsaying?! Even when I slept innocently with Rozalin, it wasn't until after a relationship started. I can't do this. Not without first...

But Zilvai is still with Geir-or might be... I think. I haven't seen Geir and Zilvai's been avoiding the topic, but she did say Geir was becoming anti-social... and staying a lot in her prime...

Do I even want this? Even if Sunshine refuses to speak to me, she still has the engagement ring I gave her! She might still... Then again, maybe that ring is just a memento to Rozalin now. A memory of a dream she once believed she could have had but does no longer? I don't know because SHE WON'T TALK TO ME!

Goddess, what should I do?

It's been two days since Zilvai left for the Astral plane. I'm surprised by how much I miss her. No, wait, why should I? We've always been close. Perhaps what's strange is the fact I miss her more... than Rozalin. Zilvai said some words that cut to the heart of my relationship with Sunshine. If Rozalin loved me so much, why did she give up so readily? After the appearance of the imposter and Rozalin said she needed time to think, she promised she would seek me out. But she never did. She was just... gone. She didn't even bother to have Muriel tell me she left.

I will always love Rozalin, just as I love all my friends and family. Just as I try to love everyone I meet! I don't want to think ill of anyone. I shall do what I must when and if the time comes I must stop someone, but I'll always love them and hope for the chance of their change until that time comes. Love is the most powerful force in the multiverse and is eternal.

What defines a relationship... is love and what you want from the relationship. As much as I desire and have faith in Rozalin, I can't force her to have the same desire and faith in me. And it's clear now that she didn't and I can't do anything about that so long as she refuses to speak to me.

That just leaves one question: what do I want from my relationship with Zilvai?

Three days... I hope nothing went wrong. Maybe I should have gone with her. I had other things to take care, things that seemed to have mattered at the time, but now that I'm starting to worry... I should have gone with her. Not that I think she can't take care of herself! It's just that... I want to be with her. I enjoy being with Zilvai. Whether we're just talking, playing, or fighting by each other's side, I enjoy being with her. And I want to always be with her.

But how would she react if I told her my feelings? I'm certain Zilvai sees me as her very caring and loving older brother. Would she even entertain the thought? And what happens if she says no? I'm not afraid if she rejects me, it's her choice after all. What I am afraid about is how it'll affect our relationship afterwards... Could we maintain our sibling bond or would it become too awkward? If I ask, I risk loosing what we have, but, if I don't ask, I'll never know whether or not we could have been more.

I also feel like a hypocrite. Wasn't I just telling Zilvai how much I wanted her relationship to work out with Geir? That's why I gave her the wedding band that had been meant for Rozalin. Yet, here I am now; ready to put a wedge between them myself... I feel like I'm about to do something that's really unfair.

What can I do with this love?

I've decided. I'm going to open my heart to Zilvai. This isn't something that I can keep inside. As much as I worry over the consequences, to hold back my feelings would go against my faith as a Sunite. I have to believe Zilvai will always accept my love, whether it will come from me as her brother or... as her lover. If she doesn't desire that kind of relationship with me, it will be awkward for a time. But I have faith our love for each other will prevail in the end.

Please be safe Zilvai. My prayers are always with you.
