Lyra had given Darremar her thoughts upon his decision to apply for position in the new Academy during a quiet moment re-warming after cold hunt by the large woodburner in the main room of the house.

Fitting she had allowed him to read of her lips, her only reservation that she would have to share him again and with yet more, that he would forget her own mentoring in lieu of a room full of student. Perhaps was a wrong word used but she hadn't appreciated being referred to as a 'duty' he would not be forgetting....and she made sure that he knew her feelings on that score, albeit in teasing manner...infact insisted.

Danielle was still slumbering in her own style of Reverie the next morn when Lyra crept into her room again. She sat upon the edge of the bed, one legged tucked under, sketchbook and pen to hand. She began capturing the image of the Dracophoenix in readiness for preparing it to tracing paper. The beast was exposed to her view and laid bare for her hand to copy upon paper as the fey'ri, snoring lightly, lay face down into her pillows.

No time like the present to begin on her next promise for her Sovana. After a half hour or so, Lyra set down her implements and padded softly into the kitchen, to prepare a favourite snack for the girl upon her waking. Back in the room she saw the Elf-Tail stirring. Lyra left the bowl of soft buttered creamed potatoes together a cup of herbal tea to the sidetable, added a few more touches to the sketch until the fey'ri, sleepy eyed began to turn over, then with a grin, Lyra slipped out of the room again to leave the girl to 'come-to' in private.

The bazaar and outside bar were crowded. It was easier to stay to the side, watch from distance, even though her lover and his Sovani and mate were socialising between those low walls, she did not approach. So he approached her, leaving the two other elves. His attempt to encourage her to the bar was immediately given up when they both saw the small dark form with the mage staff enter. But when her Sovana and her friend arrived, Lyra did finally move a bit closer, encouraged by him to greet at least, though it was in her own mind to do so. The two tails were wrapped up with each other pretty much, her lover moved inside the walled area, her outside and, after greeting, listening to the tails catching up, Lyra stayed her ground but for something to do, brought out flute to clean and her notice of sales...with few takers. The hin asked her of boots and rings but she had so few of any worth and she knew he was in the trading business himself, likely to have much better, that she simply shook her head. One butch woman asked her what she had in the way of axes, she looked but had none...

The conversation flowed about her, voices both loud and soft to her ears and rather than stay as wallflower amidst it all she moved away slightly from the wall, turned to the side, her back to the post and sat, still able from that position to watch over and observe most of the going's on. When her Sovana's friend beckoned her over to enquire if she still did tattoos, Lyra's moment brightened and she became more animated and businesslike, bringing forth her sketchpad of sample images to show the girl, gesturing her enquiries and responding best she could do the girl's questions. The images in her sketchbook did not inspire the tiefling in her choices, and Lyra did not really know her at all well to offer suggestion. The four decided to move back to the fey'ri's house to continue the discussions and where Lyra had more images in books to show.

A sandwich by the fire. Another commission. Not a big one but every little helped. Finally, after more motion and mime from Lyra, a review of her picture books, the girl settled on her requirement. The size and position to her body was determined, the nature of the tattoo known, something that seemed to suit the girl's own nature, but the exact style and form of the tattoo would need more research from both to find best suit.

As regards where to perform future tattoo work, Lyra wished to press on with negotiations for partnership with Lervak, coin for repair in exchange for the rights to a share of the business, perhaps even a share of the property. The orc clan tattoo fees plus the money she held in purse were unlikely enough. Her lover offered to help, she allowed it, albeit reluctantly, and took half his savings with intention to make negotiations with Lervak the next day. Inwardly, she made promise to pay back the monies, still not comfortable in having to go to him for this, despite his words of sharing, that what was his, was hers as they walked the same path. The term 'loan', he rejected.

The Moon-Father had meeting to attend later, a hopeful parley with the Academy owner, the Bronze-Witch, regarding his new appointment and search for instructor. Her Sovana had once again nodded off in the rocking chair and her tiefling friend, lover? left the house. Lyra wondered about their relationship, yet knew that all tails were forever all over each other, touching and close, that it was hard to tell. Lyra shrugged and made to the spare room for Reverie, pleased at least to have the commission and inspired again to work towards her own business goals. Her other ones...would yet again have to...wait a little while longer.

Afew days prior...

Arrows flew straight and plentiful, two magical bows shooting with unlimiting fluidity, thudding into the heavy scaley skin of massive winged beast. A dance upon the sand, a hunt of the extreme and Lyra's latest melancholy soon faded in the exertions. A new plane, a dark forebidding sky and a elvish race across beach beneath great cliffs and mountain, one golden head of hair, the other hooded and hiding, the pair of archers took on the plane's worst foe. She was shown the way through the caves, but could barely see or mark the massive creatures that guarded the treasures and portal return. Gold-mane, with prayer and persistency, persevered until their defenses lowered and at last her arrows found purchase in that tough hide as well.

She was so keyed up and excited after this new hunt, that she returned to the bazaar and without hesitation or pause, actually entered and sat down inside the area with the Moon-Father and the Bronze-Witch voluntarily and errupted into a wild account by gesture and eventually to scribble upon paper of her experience, finally getting them to understand the where, why and how of it all, finding out name of the plane and beast in return. Yet her attempt to ask of the portal key to reenter the plane herself again, was not heeded as other distractions occurred. For one, that dirt elf approached and Lyra, her emotions already out of place with the thrill of the new hunt, was uncomposed in the direct presence of the drowess this time. Something which her lover acting as mentor later pulled her up on.

Lyra flicked another page of the book only half reading the text as her eyes naturally were drawn to the image, shape and furl of the frond, length of the stem of the plant, the quality and accuracy of the drawing.

Moons of observation and study did not prepare for reality of surprise attack from an unexpected direction ...a weakness exposed had to be countered for self preservation and control

Her fingertip traced the shape of the drawing to the next page. Maybe this one...maybe the gnome girl does know something of worth also...

To reach the goal one must know, defend and rise above one's weaknesses.....and never, never...lose control

Lyra wondered whether to move to the defensive or to counter attack...trouble was, she could not hide from this one, not any more.

It was a tactical campaign....after making her own counter attack that she could not see to its full fruition without hurting her own plans...she was once more stunned to true silence within the space of a day and a night since the last move....by a bombshell of a question.

An old face bearing supporting cane, a melody upon flute played and returned, watched by a tail and a request for a drawing of the flute notes by said tail, bringing forth a girlish grin from Lyra....

...all this happening between private continuation of 'discussions' of tactics, assassination plans and a furthering of understanding of deity oaths....as Lyra braved the open bar and shared wine with her mate. The switch in 'conversation' made easily without blink of eye from either.

She progressively closed in upon the group of elves at the outside bar, attempting to listen in on their whispers, sensing some of the excitement and once in reasonable hearing distance she figured why. Isonade and her tall mate had returned from their Toril trip and were recounting tale. Lyra barely greeting the Bronze-Witch so keen was she to hear of their travels, hunts, great beasts fought, family encounters and adventures of her childhood plane.

Gifts...and such fine gifts they brought...it was hard to remain aloof towards Isonade when curious magical globe display of the lands of Toril was given to her followed by a tome of body paintings and tattoos, various old elven war markings used in days of the Crown Wars of that land. Darremar received two large dusty tomes, one on the subject of moon elves of Toril, and a magical telescope that showed the moons, asteroids and stars a nightscape to view for when even in the city. The gift left for her Sovana and the other member of lyra's home gave the elven group no end of amusement as first Ymerion then Isonade teased the small creature.

'Camil anirillnla oem...tymanyeeyla veoanla' ..Lyra thanks..for precious gifts overwhelmed by the treasures given she hoarsely croaked out the words in elven, the first time she had used that language in nigh on ninety years in its spoken form...but she couldn't sustain the sound, resorting to a coughing fit. Such was the social elven spirit, voice and language in that house, that eve, experienced by Lyra in never-so-long, that she wanted to join in if only that little bit.

Lyra had the good fortune to come across an alembric amongst the wares of the fat dwarf. Such would enable to make more gold from parts of creature, distill essences down to lesser ones to bring more jink with the right merchant. She also found that the stout one had a set of leather armours Greenleaf she had been looking for a long while, ever since she saw Black-Scars in such those moons ago that had reminded her of her Father's own favoured attire. Lyra spent the necessary precious jink to acquire the pair, one to aid her in making more gold, the other on a whim of desire for something of her past again.

It was as she was getting the leathers fitted more suitably to her petite form that her mate came across her and joined her to check the fitting. Playful was her mood on account of the successful purchases and she tried on next for him to see a blue parlour dress, much smarter than her old blue tunic had been, telling him of her forthcoming meeting with Lervak to negotiate position as partner instead of skivvy. The smarter outfit might lend some confidence and leverage to the negotiations. It couldn't harm.

After regalement of the days business and routines and finds, a game of learn-the-language-known the mood changed again for the worse when Lyra discovered her mate had been learning the tongue of the Illythir from his Sovani. What he argued in even tones was a natural wish for understanding and an assumption of her knowing, Lyra reacted initially as it being another betrayal and omission for deception. Yet his words were logical and she soon saw sense in perhaps learning of the tongue for herself...better to know the enemy, yet her enemy Isonade was not. Lyra was still coming to terms with this.

Her mood remained deflated as she made ready for Reverie, tired. The playful mood and game had turned to serious 'talk' and she soon reached her limits for words and wisdom from her mate as she reflected on doubts and uncertainties of the path she was treading, her original goals, the unknowns surrounding her state, the changes looming and whether this would always be the way of it.

No spider gland but golem fragment, devil blood and mandible of umberhulk. Lyra had afew of the three to her pack after two hunts now with the tall elf, one of which Isonade had been present on. She had found that hunt interesting and partially rewarding.

Interesting for running with the pair, watching how they worked together, how the tall elf would lead and storm the mountain or cave, supported by his mate, the drowess's expert artillery and, on occasion, melee fighting. Lyra added her own sure shot and flight of arrow from a more distant and often hidden position, ensuring that she was never swamped and surrounded, that the taller, stronger elf took most of the crowd of enemy away from her path, to lay rapid fire into the fray to pierce succubus skin and volley into devil hide.Cave, mountain and also fortress. They made it look easy. Lyra was pleased when her reward was some of the gold and a few of the bloods for making essence to jink.

And the next day again, drowess not present, Lyra approached the tall elf Isonade's-mate told to call him Just-Ym and she settled to Isonade's-Ym for now, still perusing how she would call him. She poked him, tugged him to join her in another hunt for essence telling him she needed it for her special project for jink. He acquiesed. He had no choice really.

Like Tovari she grinned to him as they moved through the hive ward and slipped down to the sewers. Had he been expecting another more challenging hunt to the Abyss? Lyra smirked, there was worth and reward in easier places perhaps visited less oft these days by the elf and she tugged the sleeve of her Tall-Tovari to encourage his more bulky frame and 106 moons down to the dank tunnels with her. No spider gland, but move onwards to the Ethereal plane and a golem, then to the tower reaped good find with a stalking and slaughter of umberhulk. After journey into the gray wastes for wraith residue, Lyra thanked him for his company with a grin and a nod. She had enjoyed the hunt and the finds. Golem fragment, devil blood, mandible and....perhaps.... a new brother...albeit one that would give her crick in the neck.
