Lyra wish to know why.. she glared at Isonade after slowly mouthing the words ..Dirt-elf poison mind of Moon-Father
Lyra's bow was raised and half drawn, aimed at the girl as she stood without the small cave.
Lyra had tracked Darremar's bootmarks, a day or so old, to the entrance, but could find no means to open the rock to enter. After using claw blade edge and finger, shifting bush and lightly scraping the rock, she moved aside, selected another shadey nearby bush with view of the frequented one, hunkered down to wait it out.
She waited there some hours, before seeing the oddest thing happen around the discoloured rock. Shiny silver runes appeared, bearing faint glow. And as the door lifted up and open by an unseen force, hinging quietly to one side, she heard a faint scuffling noise and Isonade lifted herself out of the hole, the door closing equally silent behind her.
'If I had poisoned his mind....why would I have encouraged him to have relations with you, despite knowing you were a follower of Shevaresh? Someone with a clear vendetta against my kind? ' Lyra's fingers tensed on the bowstring. 'Why would I have agreed to meet you.....to show you my face? None seem to allow me a long, successful life. Unless, of course....I am not as you would hope I was.'
Drow witchery...for...special purpose Lyra hissed, after moving lips again, yet she shifted her fingers against the bowstave and frowned.
'What witchery? I can cast no more than first circle, ''protective'' magics'
Drow enchanter lies! Lyra seen craft and form much with magic...where are other kin?...where gathering? Speak! her lips formed the words then curled into a snarl.
In an even voice, with tone indicating her utter conviction that what she spoke was true, Isonade explained that crafting was altogether different from magic and that her kin lay elsewhere killing each other and not looking for the drowess.
Lyra hesitated, paused as she assimilated the words, tilting her head a little. Lyra raised her bow, drew it back a notch, narrowed her eyes and mouthed Show Lyra lair of spider-kisser, reveal truth and know death will come clean and swift
Again, the drowess refuted that she lied, yet refused Lyra's request for entry to her home, something she had worked hard to build, that there was no point if Lyra was to kill her anyway. Then she offered to the moonelf for her to use her telepathy to ascertain if she had spoken lie, she would not resist.
Lyra gave a slight shake of the head, hissed at learning of something divulged from lover to drowess and something of her hurt flared in her eyes, then they became guarded again. Such only reveals what is allowed, Lyra knows this she moved her lips, then inhaled slowly, a hint of her control slipping with the slight tremor of that breath. It was what the Curse-Lifter had told her.
'This is true. However, I give you the opportunity to know all my thoughts, as they were, and are....or we could find a willing paladin to play truth detector. Or, you could agree to leave your weapons here, as will I...and then we can go inside. I will not harm you, now, or ever....because I refuse to cause my Tovara that kind of pain. She looked directly at Lyra's eyes 'I will never force him to choose between I or you.'
Lyra's fingers shifted again upon the bow. She paused in thought, yet lowered not her stance and guard, though she relaxed the drawn bow a fraction. Lyra not head to lair of Lloth follower unarmed....' then after few moments, she made a curt nod towards Isonade Lyra ..consider truth proposal
The drowess stated no Power did she follow before nodding in acknowledgment.
Lyra's brow furrowed Lyra knows where dirt-elf lives....make public request of willing priest or paladin...Lyra will choose...then truth will out....if lie...Lyra will not give second chance for swift death again and the moonelf stepped back slowly still with bow aimed at the drowess, retracing her steps down the rocky bank.
Once out of bow shot range she turned and slipped to the shadows, moving swiftly away, glancing back at times to check if the drowess followed. She didn't.

He came across her in the Abyss, appeared out of nowhere to take her kill, each not noticing the other. It didn't take long for her to see his state, utter weariness and exhaustion, he could barely hold himself up and retain his magics. So why was he in the Abyss of all places? She kept herself hidden, hood shading eyes, cowl covering mouth. She didn't want him to see her, read her, in her own state. She didn't trust him, didn't trust his words, didn't trust that he wouldn't report back to the dirt-elf of any sign of her own weakness.
Yet she motioned him back to the cavern out of the Abyss, supported him when he fell..she winced inwardly...too weak...far too weak...what had been done to him? The mind poison was cruel....she lent her shoulder to guide him back to his lodgings...his...not hers. He needed rest, that much she could do for him and slipped strong sedative to the tea she brought him, encouraging him to drink.
She let his words wash over her, trying not to listen, hurting, feeling as if a drow poisoned arrow was working its way into own heart, inch by inch, to hear of each of the false emotions upon his lips, the wetness to his eyes. Lyra will find truth...she will save him from the mind magic and poison...bring him back to her but she was scared that the truth would hurt more. She stayed as he became drowsy, stayed another three hours just watching him, the kitten now curled to her own lap. The house was silent, the Elf-Tail was still out. Lyra slipped out the back entrance, dropping from terrasse balcony to the street below, staying hidden upon hearing the first tell-tale signs of his waking and Danielle's return.
Between visits to the Cage for meetings, Lyra remained at the den in the forest. Her blue tunic, already well used and worn, did not cope with the rougher outdoor living and she finally had to source another, meeting trapper and exchanging a few gems for some stitched hides. Nor did her fastidiousness in hair care last for long.
She met with the two who had responded to her advert and seemed the most likely candidates for her needs. One impressed more than the other in manner and experience so she left note once more to make the hiring. She took precaution in entering the Cage to make those meetings, wary of bumping into the drowess, him or the other elves she knew. Yet the Know-All was there offering items for sale and she took moment to inspect his wares and again, was tempted into trading a few of her items for a pair of fine chivs, one of which she was familiar with. The scar on her palm itched as she held the dagger, a reminder of a time past, a brother and a mentor. With these she would be stronger, surpassing even the powers of the claws she owned, for times when close combat and a poison coated blade to throat were necessary. Much as she wanted to pierce her black heart with arrow for what she had done to him, Lyra knew that stealthy use of poisoned chiv might be the better means.
Another poisoned mind, that of the Bronze-Witch caught up with her as she packed the two new chivs away and tried to turn her reasoning making Lyra's scowl ever deeper. She listened not, and with angry look back, she loped to follow the dark robed elf when she saw him head towards the lady's ward. He had called to the 'Witch' not to meddle in what she didn't know. She spent scant short time with him in his lodgings, again, checking that all was empty save the kitten before entering. Again, she refused to let him talk, refused to listen to the lies she knew she would hear. She had another mission and purpose in case all would be lost...until such time, she would take every opportunity. She missed him, would always miss him.

He made her weep. And she made a choice, hard though it hurt opting for the warmth of embrace not his seed. Tears had not fallen for ninety years and she scowled upon showing that weakness, wiping them swiftly from her eyes, swallowing them quickly. Yet the moment forced the moisture to her eyes and a decision from her lips. Either way, she could not 'win'. She cried for what she believed she would lose from her choice.
If dirt elf lies....lyra will kill her and remove the magic by such. If drowess is as he says...Lyra will....'attempt' to ...tolerate....for his sake....and his love

A number of factors had led to a severe argument between Lyra and Darremar, not least this threat to have her hired hand use his magics upon the other elf, not least that Lyra had seen him in the bazaar talking close again with the dirt elf and unable to prevent an accusation of him acting as Servant to her as Mistress, not least that she was felt she was slowly dying inside knowing that another two moons and his love would be revealed as yet another lie. She had both wanted and not wanted his presence at the meeting for the truth, yet allowed it...a cleaner cut of the poisoned wound to sever that tie of his mind but also his love was perhaps best. Upon seeing her Sovana in the market place and hearing gentle word and simple apology, all the pent up emotion she had been feeling came out and Lyra sought the comfort of the fey'ri's embrace, unable to hold back more tears, no longer caring of who might see. She listened to the words of her Sovana, heard something of her own trials and coming to terms with wrongs done to her kind, listened to the girl's advice...how long does it take?..the girl had come to terms with her past, Lyra had not, yet the fey'ri had given her food for thought.
Lyra had not being able to hold back another sharp 'word' to the Moon-Father when he joined the two. Lyra had made good to the fey'ri for the damage to her house and did not take well to him taking over this for her as well as the ease to which he allowed precious and valuable gemstone to be 'given' away. Lyra, no longer working, was again short of coin. So she left to hunt, her need both for coin and to allow her train and try to clear her mind, yet she remained unfocused despite Darremar's parting words of caution and was caught out by sneak attack in the Abyss close to the entrance. She was lucky that her Sovana came upon the slight elf and recovered her. The pair then spent precious time together back on the hunt, working closely as a team, well matched to defeat the demon and devil, yet also knowing their limitations when reaching fortress or cave where the greater demon power resided. The exercise and company brought colour and a measure of happiness back again to Lyra in her enjoyment of this pastime, mutually shared. Favour of recovery was returned when the fey'ri herself became overwhelmed and fell, swarmed by bulky hezrou and horned devil, at which point Lyra took to the shadows and picked each off slowly, one by one to finally empty the area and pass coin across the Elf-Tail's lips that would give breath and life back to her body.
They retreated to her Sovana's house, meeting up once more with Darremar and, after sharing drink and watching Danielle fall asleep to the rocking chair and fire, a mutual truce was struck between the two elves that there would be no more talking, no more argument, neither wanted any more and they retired to his room, quietly, to allow the fey'ri her sleep.

The stormlord and Lyra were followed by the odd elf who had caught her studying him in the bazaar some days prior. Lyra had seen him before, he was a powerful fighter, had won a tournament. And although she held curiosity as to his style of speech and his looks, she did not wish to encounter him here, now and gestured him away. The stormlord Bryce also discouraged the elf to follow.
The pair entered Karasuthra and made to the clearing and awaited the drowess. Lyra had sent message notifying the dirt elf of the position for the meeting and she arrived with the Moon-Father in tow. Lyra had neither requested nor disallowed his presence but demanded of the drowess that she ensured he kept his silence and made no mind link during this process. She had threatened in her note to the drowess that any magics would be removed about him as well to ensure this but also told the girl that no harm would be done to her during the meeting provided she complied with the process.
The stormlord had Lyra's drafted questions to hand and, upon ascertaining the willingness of the drowess to participate, he cast his wardings and dispellings and spell of detection upon the area and upon the girl as Darremar kept distance watching the proceedings quietly. Lyra gave Bryce instruction to keep his wards soley upon the girl and the immediate area, this last following the harsh words, argument and threat of the Moon-Father against the priest she hired should he turn his magic in his direction. Though it was not ideal, Lyra had little choice. So many loopholes were possible and not knowing how such magic worked, it was still possible that leaving him, her Servant with recourse to his magics to aid the drowess, the whole process would be rendered redundant.
Stormlord Bryce commenced the questionning.
'What is the extent of your magical powers and strength, specifically in the areas of Enchantments?'
'what do you know of Herbology or Alchemy? Are you capable of brewing something that helps you influence, charm, seduce others or any herbs with the same effects?'
To both these questions, the drowess' answers were followed by a confirmation from the stormlord that he could discern no lie.
'Now we're onto a much more delicate subject... relationships. Who and where are your 'true' family?'
'Whom do you consider your closest friends, lovers, or allies?'
'why did you accept ... 'Moon Father' as a brother?' Bryce hesitated at Lyra's term of name for Darremar but proceeded with the question.
Lyra was not altogether happy with the answers and to hear the outcome or truth or lie from Bryce, yet in some way was relieved to hear that no mind control was in play. She pushed on with the process, tapping the parchment of questions with her fingertip after each one to encourage Bryce to move on, until they finally came to the last topic.
'Now we're going to ask you about your religions and faiths. Have you ever been a follower of either Lolth, Ghaunadaur or Vhaerun?'
The drowess' answer had Lyra stepping forward to approach, Bryce readying spell and warning Lyra not to act hostile. Lyra's approach was unthreatening, seeking only to clarify on one point, to communicate without Bryce, once satisfied, she took up position again next to the stormlord, facing the drowess as she waited the next question.
'Would you swear an oath, on all that you hold dear and close to you heart against either of those faiths?' The drowess gave satisfactory answer to Lyra, confirmed as truth and Lyra determined to follow this up in the near future.
Would you willingly lift your arms and might against a follower of those faiths?' The answer was 'acceptable' to Lyra, now she had determined the earlier ones.
Bryce looked at Lyra to check 'Final question? I will only ask, rest is up to you... Lyra nodded for him to continue.
Would you willingly accept a test of 'non-faith' he asked of the drowess. Bryce had asked just as Lyra had written upon the parchment, in lyra-speak, simple enough to her, but the meaning not entirely clear to Isonade and she sought to know what that entailed.
Lyra approached again, turning back to Bryce warning him to remain where he stood and she mouthed silently to the drowess..
Drow knows what Lyra is....what she has vowed to her god.... she swept a hand towards where Darremar now crouched watching 'Moon-Father' has likely told. As test...lyra seek help, small aid...towards one act....as proof .....and the truth here lyra hears this day
What assistance, what task....the drowess had reason to ask and be cautious..
This and the oath taking...Lyra will drop her current stance towards .. Lyra hesitated slightly on returning to calling the drowess as 'Sovani' of the 'Moon-Father' 'Information, only drow would know of...Lloth drowess. Isonade agreed to Lyra's terms. 'Very well'.
The questioning was over. Lyra attempted to pay Bryce with fair cost for his services, but he declined, stating he had been happy to assist for which Lyra was relieved. Stormlord Bryce removed the magical auras and departed to explore that plane a little more, leaving the three elves behind.

Lyra is not prepared to call 'Isonade'..one of her Sovanae.....yet....hurts have been done...Lyra has been cruel also...but..........she....does apologise to 'Isonade'...and...has promised to Aria.. a pause as Lyra took a deep breath to try with her ...for his sake...she will adhere to that promise..difficult though that is for her
She had not expected the apology, but Isonade accepted Lyra's attempt and talked also of being proud of Lyra for what she had done. Though her manner was still curt, cool towards the drowess. Lyra had bent once again her beliefs and teachings, the consequences of that she knew not and might be something she would have to deal with in the future.
Lyra knows little of magic, little of drow but of their torture and pain...she had to learn in own way...... oath and test will come later
'Isonade' truly loves him? Lyra moved her lips as they both turned from looking to Darremar to face each other again and Lyra searched the other girls eyes for the truth, even though the stormlord's spells were no longer present to ensure such.
'I do. He's my brother of spirit, if not in blood. But his heart is yours.'
And her words caused Lyra's expression to soften a little, something akin to when she and Ison had begun to get to know each other, before the revealing. There was a momentary sharing of humour as they regarded Darremar again and Isonade spoke of something in his nature they both knew. Then Lyra nodded to Ison's earlier words...
Lyra knows this....yet there is work still to be done to know each other for future to work
'There is always work in a relationship worth having'
...as for your elf...Lyra hope he returns and Lyra made a brief smile of sympathy and then it was gone.
Lyra left the two elves, brother and sister, with backward glance at Darremar, who had remained patient and quiet all this time, a little apart from the proceedings. She left the drowess to her home that was not so far away, to go decide on where her own was now to be.

Gifts...peace offerings?
There was a long way to go still but indeed a burden had been lifted and Lyra felt it. Better a future with a bend in belief than one seeing him bent to the will of a drowess of Lloth and a false love. A conversation with the Bronze-Witch had brought that point in focus more fully, seeing the tattooed beauty in tears with a broken heart had Lyra trying to console another Sovana.
Lyra returned to the house of the Elf-Tail-Sovana with her mate and love. Right words still hard to find so instead, peace offerings were made. He gifted to her a finely crafted bow, the likes she had never seen before and he promised to take her out to test arrow on a hunt the follow day. She, initially at a loss to know what to offer as gift to equal the longbow in power and elegance in return, could only think at that moment of her near finished painting as a start....
She uncovered the cloth from the canvas and pulled the easel closer for him to see...

The painting was so close to completion. It only lacked a little more background work to one edge and corner, her mark to the other. The background showed something of the dark Karasuthran landscape she knew he frequented to pray to his Mistress. She had tried to capture him as she saw him and admired him...loved him...the calm wisdom in his firm and knowing gaze of jade green with flecks of deep blue, the quiet strength in the sinewy muscles of his right bearing his sword, the glow of his power to left, forming, yet not to its fullness, the white and length of beauty of hair, the angle and slight curl of one long eartip that worked to soften what would otherwise be a hard image, perhaps because when she had captured his expression in pose, he had been looking to her.
....she would have to ponder and hunt more carefully upon what would truly be worthy to give him in exchange.
On the morrow also she would take him to the den to make good, deciding then and there to move back to join him in the spare room and her Sovana's house.
((ooc - not original artwork. Drawing taken from a deviantart image and simply adapted using photobucket bits and pieces to also bear a mark to chest to represent the blackhand tattoo. In addition, the white hair would have been alot longer, trailing to touch the ground - I could not adapt the image easily for this, nor could I manage the glow of right hand *sighs* - one day I'll get a tablet and draw again properly))

She kept low profile during the the 'invasion'. Her 'home' as she now allowed it to be called, for at least the temporary, that of her Sovana's, in the Lady's Ward had been protected adequately, yet she had heard of yet more devastation in the Hive Ward. Those she knew, loved and took interest in, remained unharmed, which was all that mattered to her.

In the days that followed the truth seeking and invasion, Lyra used her time in a few ways.
Firstly, she took up her paints once more, usually when the house was empty, save the kitten, which she allowed on occasion to perch atop her shoulder, rather enjoying the soft purring rumble of whiskers against her ear as she worked. She completed the portrait, touching up the background and completing her mark to the right bottom corner.
Next, she embarks upon a small notice. A simple painting to a cermamic plaque that could be hung on nail, post or simply laid down. The notice bears only simple painted lettering in silver and gold coloured paints.
Quality Enchantments and Specialist Equipment
Once completed she slips into Danielle's room and leaves the finished plaque atop the rumpled bedding with a small note.
Promise made is completed, Lyra kindly ask Sovana to use this plaque as notice and not the bones when the Father is around

Lyra then sets out on a larger task, another painting on a smooth wooden board a metre and half in size.
After applying the primer, she uses a wash of white and bronze in a large swirling pattern to be the backround. Upon this, she then paints a number of images of runic symbols, objects such she has seen for enchanting and crafting; retorts, decensors, mortars, pestles, as well as wands, pointed hats, glowing staffs, potion bottles, cauldrons, scrolls and books. In the middle of these images, she leaves space for the text of the painting, coloured in bright purple to stand out against the white and bronze background.
Welcome to the Academy of Majika
Once completed and dried, she wraps carefully in cloth and tucking it under her arm, personally delivers it to the doorman at Vara's mansion, leaving quietly after.

Farewell her lips moved silently as she saw him move off into the undergrowth to catch up with his new companion. She knew that would be the last time she would see him.
The Moon-Father had accompanied her, stood guard as she retrieved the few things left to the den, saw the approach of the runt and saw her make her parting.
'Am I not enough for companion?' he asked as they made way back.
Different...Shade was...less than mother to father, more than kitten is to Aria she attempted to explain. One day.... but she kept her thoughts on that 'one day' for herself and the moment was lost as they dealt with afew treant and giant snake.

Sea elf she repeated in thought upon his description and own report, whispered to her later. Five hundred well spent to determine something of the strange glossy skinned elf figure she had observed. The gnome girl had taken up her offer and engaged the elf at the bar. Conversation flowed more easily between gnome and water elf than would have with Lyra, but Lyra had listened and observed from a distance. Then, when she needed to leave and the gnome had yet not returned to her for payment, Lyra had left request for the Moon-Father to ensure the girl received her fair dues, particularly after watching her imbibe the elf's drink and notably struggling with the taste. It could not have been anything pleasant.
Lyra avoided the dark skinned, top-hatted male, allowing him his 'reserved' stall where she sat in exchange for payment of jink, she just simply moved to the next one nearby to continue those observations. When he was surrounded by guards, some talk of payment for trading, she kept quiet, kept her own notice to her bag and kept to herself when the tails and the mage engaged and a fist-fight broke out.
