Artist Credit: http://jandruff.tumblr.com/

Basic Information
Name: Recently discovered to have been Violetta Naiat
Aliases: Brynn
Gender: Female
Race: Vampire, former Vistani of the Naiat tribe
Age: 300+
Profession: Witch, Jinkskirt, Enchantress, and Mercykiller Namer
Languages: Common, Draconic, Infernal, Abyssal
Accent: Cockney (in-world, Hiver)

Physical Information
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 130 lbs.
Body build: Petite
Skin type: Smooth
Hair style: Tastefully disheveled, reaches the middle of her back.
Scars: Pact brands, one on her right palm and six up her entire right arm. Four appear infernal, one abyssal, and two unseelie. Recently discovered that these appearances were false, and each is in fact one-seventh of a red hand with black fingernails, one of the many symbols of Mephistopheles.
Tattoos: Elegant, curling runes on each cheek. Similar curling designs around her navel, and a broken heart on the small of her back.
Colouring:
Hair: Black Eyes: Crimson Skin: Pale, Ashen [/li]
Mental Information
Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Brynn has been taking to her duties and responsibilities exceptionally well, and begun to really understand that, even if it didn't make her feel like she was making progress toward her own absolution, her faction performs a necessary function to make the multiverse a safer place for law-abiding citizens.
Philosophy: Most people are inherently abusive, and not to be trusted. As a victim of abuse herself, Brynn spent three hundred years under the shadow of what Count Strahd did to her, and what she did to herself afterward. Now, she's just starting to break out of that shadow, doing her part to bring justice to people like Strahd. This philosophy makes her treasure the few people who've proven to her that they won't abuse her trust, and the sense of belonging she feels as one necessary part of a greater whole.
Deity/Beliefs: Agnostic. The Powers are very much a thing, as any planeswalker can see. She just doesn't believe they're a thing to be worshipped or aligned with. She doesn't begrudge others their faith, though.
Personality:
Semi-Vacant Brynn sometimes has trouble focusing, and allows her attention to wander. Lately, however, she seems to have a renewed sense of clarity. Hurting Brynn's been hurt a lot in her past, and subjected to treatment that would drive most mad. She tries as hard as she can not to inflict similar treatment upon others, and struggles against her vampiric nature to avoid doing so, preferring instead to buy, trade, or work for her blood. Switch Brynn is fully capable of being both submissive and dominant, and switches between them as the situation dictates. This applies not only to intimacy, but also to her everyday interactions with others -- with some people, she's passive and happy to do what they want to do with their time, and with others, she tries to lead the night's activities. Masochist Brynn has learned to like physical pain as a defense mechanism against events in her past. It's not merely psychological either, as her brain actually reverses signals, interpreting pain as pleasure. Certain sources, however, such as the burn of a crucifix, contact with positive energy, or the sting of silver or holy water, are still thoroughly unpleasant. She's recently begun learning to suppress it for a time, so that she can fight without losing her focus. [/li]
Additional Information
Gear: Her uniform is a black and red longcoat. She wears a longsword sheathed diagonally on her back, and a curved, obsidian dagger on her belt. When combat happens, she summons a shield covered in arcane marks from inside one of her bags.
Cosmetics: Crimson lipstick and nail polish. She wears her nails long and files them to a gradual point, in the classical vampire style.
Habits/Hobbies: Enchanting and wandcraft, shopping for dresses, amateur planeswalking. An obvious blood habit, of course, and a not-so-obvious sweet tooth. Occasional smoking, too. After all, she's dead -- she can't get lung cancer.
General Health: Dead as a doornail. Doesn't stop her from walking around, though.
Favorite Drink: Mageblood, for the taste of magick. Barring that, blood from anyone who eats lots of sweets. For non-blood drinks, Brynn enjoys tea and coffee, both with honey and lots of sugar.
Weaknesses: Occasional flashbacks to her last 5 years of being alive, which were spent in captivity as a blood thrall and pleasure slave to Count Strahd von Zarovich of Barovia, in Castle Ravenloft. Sometimes these flashbacks are vivid enough to remove her from consciousness entirely. Currently has pacts which she's trying to break free of. Each is actually a part of a clever trick by Mephistopheles, forming one seventh of one of his unholy symbols, the red hand with black fingernails, insidiously disguised. These pacts were made on Mephistopheles' behalf by a single of his servants, who appeared to Brynn in seven guises.

Pacts:
'Beleth' Index finger. 'Crocell' Middle finger. 'Naphula' Ring finger 'Zagan' Pinky finger. 'Alastor' Thumb. 'Labraide' Left half of the palm. 'Leannansidhe' Right half of the palm. [/li]

(( Found it very interesting!
Always thought warlocks received their powers from one pact only, but the idea of using severals clearly adds something. I like the idea and will re-use it at some point, either here or around a table :)
Also appreciated the background for masochism and the link with vampire weaknesses.

Good work!

I saw on another thread that she wanted to break free from her pacts and was intrigued (the reason why I ended up here). I wonder how it may affect her abilities and thus how she came up with the idea... only if you're willing to expand on this, of course (here or MP). ))

(( I'm glad you liked it! As for how she came up with
the idea to break free of her pacts, let's just say she
found herself in a very compromising situation as a
direct result of something her pacts required of her.

She will likely have to replace the pacts with a pact
from a less sinister entity, which really makes me
wish we had Enlightened Spirit here, from Complete
Mage.

She's already stopped using her Hellfire, replacing
it with a bit of blood magick. I found it fitting that a
vampiress would consider the idea that blood can
be power in and of itself, so Brynn's been using her
own blood to empower her blasts rather than using
Hellfire. Mechanically identical, though. ))

(( Yes, I too love the idea of "blood magic" for vampires :D
And what you say seems to be good reason for the pact conversions, indeed.
Did not know the Enlighten spirit class either but it gives interesting opportunities. It's a pity your shifting towards law rather than good (though it fits less with a vampire); you could easily convert fiendish pacts into fairy ones even without a prestige class... maybe by getting closer to your animal shapes. But maybe it would still be possible since I think there are no (less) alignment-restrictions with the classes now in SCoD ?
Anyway, I wish you lot of fun with the character :P ))

(( Pretty sure alignment restrictions are still a thing.
For Warlocks, though, losing your alignment just
prevents you from taking new levels in Warlock. It
doesn't lock out your class features.

As for the multiple pacts thing, because of the way
I wrote out her contracts, the recent update to her
bio here and the plot twist therein was too tempting
to pass up. So she didn't ~actually~ have different
pacts, though that remains a fun and interesting
idea for a future character, so feel free to run with
it! ))

Copies of the following letter are sent out to all of Brynn's regular clients.

My Esteemed Regulars,

I hope this letter finds you as well as my recent
wonderful fortune, for I set pen to parchment to
inform you all that I am no longer accepting any
appointments at this time.

We've had plenty of fun times together, and all
who receive this letter have my heartfelt thanks
for being the respectful, upstanding ladies and
gentlemen that I continued to see even after my
induction into the Mercykillers.

Now, however, I have been graced with the care
and affections of someone I love very much, with
whom I wish to remain faithful and exclusive. So
it is that I am no longer offering my services as a
companion, confidante, or courtesan.

Thank you all for your understanding and support!

~Brynn
