In his flowing Lai'Oo'ran it is written . . .

So many changes of late in such short a span of time as to make me take a step back. A step taken to recollect all that has transpired. The search to fill the High Council of Majicka. The continued tutelage of Lyra in matters of import to her. Verily the changes that she so undergoes at this very moment.

All seeming to rush in upon my conscious mind. All verily welcome challenges to be met with for certainty. The last seat shall be filled quite soon of such I hold little doubts. For the matter of continued tutelage I can but continue as I have. An urge to caution as such changes become more manifest over the passing of time though.

I do indeed hold concerns that haste may spur rash decisions in certain matters. Mayhaps I should show more trust in her judgment though. She does indeed trust my own. The least I could do is offer such trust that my advice to ward of reckless decisions shall be heeded. Such plans need not be brought to fruition within this year.

However, if the opportunity would arise. She should take it fully and follow through to the end. This much I am verily certain of.

In flowing Lai'Oo'ran it was written...

A recent interest that draws akin to a hobby of sorts has taken my time. The experimentation with alternate components for common arcana. Thus far, found have I little to suit a substitution for the known reagents. Yet find do I such a challenge welcome in and of itself.

The completion of the High Council of Majika was but one more hurdle to surmount as a part of such endeavor. Perhaps now, what with the rather successful beginnings that have been tended, the others of the Academy can yet find a sense of accomplishment. Hold do I little doubts that many trials shall await us in this endeavor.

As for the other small aspects of life in a cage so to speak. It would seem at the least that finally Lyra and I have found some freedom to take a slow step for once. Tending to smaller matters rather than that which are constantly dire. Such is a welcome change for myself at the least.

The Lai'Oo'ran wandered as of now familiar avenues and pathways throughout the everchanging Cage. To some it would seem that he wandered with no true purpose behind it. He figured as much. The answer could not have been further from the truth.

To he, whom has walked the scholars life in service of his mistress this was in fact essential. It provided many small lessons guised in the remnants of the old and the form of the new. This city, built upon the ruins of its prior incarnations, was indeed as much a mystery as any abandoned ruins.

On he continued to walk as he traversed the city.

Time is a rather curious thing. It is a companion that is always with us always true whether for good or ill. They say that those whom bide of their time are granted insights that most others would overlook.

But what is time indeed? A measure of beginnings and endings. The space between the two? What if that which has come to pass had not in fact transpired? How would this change the worlds no... the very essence of the multiverse that we walk?

A wonder it is at how many possibilities must be. What if one were to manipulate those myriad possibilities to their own personal gain? How much destruction could be rent upon the multiverse.

If time flows in streams as indeed it would seem to, what would this make of those in such an altered stream? Some may cease to be? Others perhaps find themselves very different from that which they are now. For those whom cease to be. Is that akin to death? To have lost one's existence before such existance came to pass?

To me it feels disimilar and forboding. All whom would tread the streams of time must come to realize this very real danger. Where does that leave of me? Why, perhaps it leaves me in a position to aid those whom seek to halt the waves that were created from that pebble thrown within.

I accept that of the oldest friends we all hold at the least hold three. Time, Life and Death. For when we part ways with Life we are yet bound to the other two. I consider them all the dearest of friends. To utterly cheat one of their binding to death is to deprive that one of the eternal rest that they so deserve.

A need I sense to preserve this natural balance. Preservation is the least that I could offer...

Some things change not over time or space. Conflicts arise over the same issues. Faith, territory, resources, or simply because some perceive others as lessers.

These things the elf mused as he stood upon his high perch overlooking the Lady's Ward. Be it as it may, if trouble would come of this so to then would come the reckoning. Be at Athar or something far more insideous. The Lai'Oo'ran would be watching and ever at the ready.

The Lai'Oo'ran wandered the cage in thought. So many tasks to perform. Alliances to seek out. It was a test as much as any test of faith.

His wanderings took him down a familiar avenue towards that dirty old building that housed the workings of ink and needle. Perhaps on some other day it would have brought a smirk to his face to note the sign that was posted out regarding orgillions, but not this day. He watched as Kithra strode into the building but he did not follow after of yet.

He had contacts to locate. That much was certain. The question was... How to go about making such contact?

Two made, two to go...

Clarity came through these walks of his. The Lai'Oo'ran took many of these of late. There were many problems to put to mind. Lines of logic and equally of insight that needed application to that which he stored within.

For a time he stood outside of the parlor that his beloved labored so fruitfully from within. But he did not cross the street to enter. It would not do to interupt her work.

He had moved on and yet the events of the prior day were yet fresh in his mind. Another piece to this puzzle he then mused. As he gazed through the smog filled streets of the lower ward he couldn't help but smirk. Things had not gone quite as he had planned. Merely scouting was the extent to which he had intended.

The conflict that had ensued was not entirely unexpected though. At the least he had some answers and even indeed some questions to impose upon Danielle when he next saw her. He likely should even seek insight from Fargul for that matter. Perhaps when a more fitting opportunity presents itself.

The Lai'Oo'ran then took note of those about and considered that his current location was not the best to be lost in thought. So slowly he moved on. Into the smog...

In flowing Lai'Oo'ran he wrote his latest entry...

Far too oft I find cause to turn aside my quill from this record. This memory of whom I am and what I seek to maintain. A Lai'Oo'ran by blood. A man of faith by training. A curious exchange of words with another lent me the possibility that others have been touched by the teachings of my Mistress.

Perhaps her will is shown in myriad ways so as to fulfill the environs that she seeks to uphold. It would befit her. For are we not conditioned to assimilate and master the environments that we enter upon.

Perhaps I should seek greater involvment in her goals. If this shall further the cause of faith. That will only benefit those whom walk the shadowed path. Only Nycti knows how long that I have walked the path that I do.

Where once it was clear whom amidst those I walked were friends and whom were foes. Now it is not so clearly drawn. I contemplate the necessity of an action that could have lasting ramifications for many within this Cage. Through such I may yet again be demonized by those same. Such is the path that I walk.

Where there is Light. There is Darkness...
