Other info
Renneth was raised on stories of great knights who fought and prevailed against powerful evil. As a child he would often play the part of the knight in shining armor and has he grew his personality began to conform to these ideals. He has developed a fairly strict code of honor that was once based on the many different heroes in his favorite stories and has since evolved with his understanding of the way the world really works. He can still come off as naive at times but it is mostly due to his desire to see the best in people.

He would rather remain silent than to knowingly lie. If he is uncertain of a thing he will say so rather than presenting the information as truth. The only exception to this is his belief in the stories of the Seldarine. He does not believe that these are wrong or embellished.

This sometimes makes him seem like he's a paladin but that is not the case. Even though he does hold strong faith, it does not rule his life.

When asked for help, he never thinks to ask for a reward and is often embarrassed when offered one. To him, the deed is the reward. Of course this has lead to him being taken advantage of on several occasions which taught him to be more open eyed when accepting requests.

The Silvervale family is a merchant family that is just a step down from noble. He has three brothers (Vendris, Weygram, and Havariel) and two sisters (Arana and Celcia). He is the youngest of the bunch.

His was one of the many moon elf families gifted a Moonblade. When he came of age, the sword chose him as its next wielder and he took it as a great honor and swore to use it in the defense of the People. From that point his father decided to groom him to take over the family business. It was his fear that Renneth would go running off trying to conquer all of the evil of the world and get himself killed. He felt that if he could turn Renneth's focus to running the business he could save his son from that pitfall.

What no one saw was that Havariel, the eldest who was previously being groomed as the heir, would take great insult to this change in hierarchy. He also felt slighted that the sword chose Renneth over him. Over the course of several decades, Havariel descended into near madness. Going so far as to get himself disowned and bannished by his family for some of his actions against Renneth and others in his pursuit to prove himself better than his youngest brother.

This behavior greatly saddened Renneth and he still feels guilt for his elder brother's downfall. He has made many attempts to reconcile with Havariel but each time has been rebuffed and once even physically attacked by his brother (which is was the last straw that lead to his being disowned and banished).

Story thus far...
Renneth was traveling with one of his caravans to check on one of the family store locations in the Silver Marches when they were attacked on the road between the Evermoors and The High Forest. A band of Fey'ri and Tanaruuk lead by his brother Havariel.

Throughout the battle many of his friends were killed and much of the cargo was destroyed but Renneth refused to give up. Wounded and exhausted he was surrounded and forced to face off with his brother. Havariel was a very talented and accomplished wizard but Renneth was not afraid of his brothers magic because of the protection the Moonblade offered.

What he did not count on, however, was that his brother had gone completely mad with his desire for vengeance. Even though Havariel had obviously allied himself with evil, Renneth still believed that he could talk sense into his brother. Before he could say anything Havariel motioned to his warriors who then jumped onto Renneth en masse.

He was restrained and made to drop the Moonblade to the ground then dragged away from the weapon. His brother, gloating at his apparent victory, explained that since Renneth enjoys fighting against evil, he can have his fill by fighting it in the Abyss. Havariel then opened a gate to that most evil of planes and instructed his warriors to toss Renneth in.

As they began dragging Renneth toward the portal, Havariel approached the sword to claim his much deserved prize.

Just as the Tanaruuk threw Renneth toward the portal, his brother grasped the hilt of the sword. A powerful burst of energy erupted from the Moonblade which turned his brother to ash and somehow caused a distortion with the portal. Instead of ending up in the Abyss, Renneth landed in Sigil and the portal winked out of existance. The last thing he had seen before it disappeared was all of his brothers warriors looking at the pile of ash with the Moonblade sitting atop it.

He has mourned his brother since then and feels the loss of the Moonblade keenly. He feels by losing the sword he has dishonored his family but most of all he feels he failed Havariel by being unable to turn him from his vengeful path or warn him of the blade's ability to destroy any evil that attempts to wield it.

Now in Sigil he searches for a way back home. During his search he still never fails to help those who need it.

In his first few days he has suffered quite a bit of culture shock. He had fought many undead and several drow elves and now he finds these creatures walk freely in the streets and are often accepted by other races that would normally revile them.

Ironically it was a vampire named Esmeralda, along with a man named Nero, who helped him understand the general rules of Sigil. Since then he has been able to quell his natural instinct to attack the typically evil creatures that roam the city.

Player notes
As with many of my other characters, I used to play this character in table top D&D. The back story is mostly the same except for the trip to Sigil. I rolled the character up way back in AD&D times when Moonblades were really friggen awesome and would flat out kill anyone who tried to use it aside from the rightful wielder. In 3rd Ed. they nerfed the crap out of it but we still stuck with the original rules for RP sake.

It was always fun playing this character and my Mer`Zikain character since they are basically polar opposites.
