Other info
She appeared in the bazaar just a few days ago with no memories and lacking knowledge beyond basic things like speech and such. She's not even 100% sure Hethera is her name but when she was asked it came to mind after a moment of reflection.

Since arriving she has just been trying to fit in and learn more about the city and its people.

So who is she talking to!?
-- Quick OOC explanation --
Several people have tried guessing what's "wrong" with her while I'm playing. Hopefully this will clear it up. Please refrain from using ANY of this IC. (should go without asking but just wanted to stress it).

To be clear, she's not crazy, schizophrenic, possessed, doesn't see dead people, and doesn't have multiple personalities. :)
-- End OOC --

In a plane removed from most of the multiverse, beyond an expanse of null existance (the void if you will), on a single world full of magic the likes of which have never been seen elsewhere, a war was being fought. A war between the Will of Light and the Will of Darkness.

For whatever reason, these entities fought each other for eons and their battle raged across the entire plane, often laying waste to anything in their path.

Their battle caused mortals to take up the fight for whichever of the two polar entities that they felt was the one meant to rule all of existence. The world was ravaged by eternal battle and was coming close to the point it would no longer be able to sustain life.

A collection of powerful mages who refused to become involved in the wars had come up with a plan to end the war and save their world and the rest of the universe. Their plan would involve the sacrifice of one of their own to create the most powerful and inescapable prison in which they hoped to lock away the warring entities.

They created a body that would be able to host both entities without being destroyed and modeled it after their leader who sacrifice her soul to the binding. Her soul would need to be cleansed and enhanced to form a buffer between the two god-like entities.

A part of the process of confinement would siphon off a large enough portion of each entity's magical essence to fuel the imprisonment. For this to work, the mages would have to finish their work and transport the body between the two warring powers at the moment they unleash simultaneous attacks at one another.

The synchronicity of the attacks was the key. If one attacked and the other defended, there would not be sufficient energy of either type to fully contain either and the whole plan would fall to pieces.

As luck or fate would have it, this part of the plan worked as expected and both powers were caught in the pull of the prison. And as each power fought to free itself, their energy ensured they would fail. By the time either realized their error it was too late.

Immediately after they were imprisoned, the second part of the plan was triggered.

Both entities and the archmage's soul were transported within their prison outside of reality to a pocket dimension far removed from their home world and the remainder of their power.

Once there, the new archmage watched over the new being whose soul was made up of three. The Light and Dark tried to continue their battle within but the soul of the archmage, through no conscious effort, made their efforts futile.

Part of the process caused the two entities to be tainted by mortal thought and emotion, and as time went on and the body remained in a comatose state, they began to act more like an old married couple than god-like entities of Light and Dark.

None of this was known to the new archmage. He patiently tended to the unconscious woman who had saved his world with her act of selfless sacrifice.

After an unknown amount of time, the woman began to stir and the archmage knew he needed to hurry to enact the last of the plan.

The banishment of the woman to a place she would never be able to find her way back from.

As he opened the portal and sent her through it, she woke and her first sight was of this man sending her through the portal, though she had no idea who he was.

Now she is in Sigil and has no memories of her life before she woke. The only thing she knows is that two beings only she can see and hear are constantly arguing with each other and causing problems for her.

The dark one looks like of like a grim reaper sort of being with black wings and robes. He calls himself Vohln.

The light one looks like a beautiful angelic woman with white wings and robes with gold trim. She calls herself Inoria.

These two retain a lot of their knowledge but having been forced into this symbiotic relationship with a human soul, they have lost the vast majority of their knowledge and powers. Still they know quite a bit and often impart this knowledge to Hethera.

This sometimes makes her seem psychic to others. At the same time, the two bickering "spirits" cause her to make unexpected outbursts and make others wonder if she is insane or possibly cursed.

Though none of the three is aware of it yet, in times of heightened emotion, the barrier entrapping the entities weakens. It's not enough for them to slip free (even if it was, if either broke free all three would cease to exist) but it is enough for one of them to take temporary control of Hethera.

They can also have an affect on her personality and emotional state. So far this has been subtle and none of them is aware of it. But as time goes on they each are beginning to have suspicions.
