Pets, Henchmen And Spell Immunity

Hello again after a longish break.

Now on to the subject: I've been playing around with a druid petmaster: companion, golem and an occasional summon + guarding the lord. It's very decent for pve, from 0 to Clangor in a matter of days pretty much solo (not counting Brux, but what happens in Brux stays in Brux). Now that I'm there, there's the matter of the last room and the Ironsoul who casts Damnation (and maybe vampiric feast too?). All this leads to my question: will the supposed 'spell immunity' protect my golem from those potential instakills? I cannot find a clarification anywhere.

So far I've been unsummoning it just before the fight but that is tedious and makes me feel a bit silly about crafting the golem in the first place. I know it does not protect the golem from every status at least (it gets deafened sometimes) but is there anything really dangerous to keep in mind?

On the subject of pets: I've got a question about teleports that do not move my pets with me. So far I've been going invisible + vwx + the remote control but that doesn't work if I meet a spotter on the other side (pc does no fighting on his own). Is there a better way?

Most of this type of transition shouldn't land you in an already-populated zone; usually you have to take a few steps before you hit a spawn trigger. Can you tell me where this is happening?

Usually I have a very hasty party member who rushes through these transitions so I can't give you very exact details on where all the spawn triggers are located, but it would really be a gigantic quality of life change if summons, henchmen and companions transitioned with you.

(P.S. Bogus, you need to take 1 level of Wizard or Sorc so you can have a familiar and complete the petting-zoo.)

I cannot agree more. The NPC remote control does not work in combat. No one in your party will wait for 6 seconds for everyone to fall out of combat, then transition, then wait for you to futz with the dialog. So you get to stand around and be mostly useless for the rest of the zone.

Okay, so here's a possible option that involves a feature that I've been working with. But I need some feedback to see if it's possible.

Currently, when you use the NPC remote, are you activating a "Cast Spell: Unique Power Self Only" ability? (you can see this by examining the item.) If that's the case, the "port henchman to me" could be set up as a spell-like ability and (via iprp_spells) set up to be activated from the hotbar, separate from the dialog. Thus you could simply click the hotbar icon for the remote, then click a "Port Henchman to me" option instead of navigating a dialog.

@Ceremorph
In Clangor actually. When returning from the last transition. Although I think the first transition also spawns too close (but I've not seen spotters there so far).

An item would help me but not anyone not wanting to leave their polymorph or wildshape (due to limited daily uses I'd imagine). A druid with natural spell could get a cantrip that works the same way... maybe?

@Sinlinara
I could actually spare a level. Purely for the comical effect.

About the companion summoning in one word: awesome, brilliant, fantastic.

All my needs regarding the issue have been satisfied. Much appreciated.

For anyone still wondering: golems do die from those instakill spells.

Iron Golem can die to Damnation as easily as any other creature.

Pretty costly invention that.

Part of the issue with spell resistance and immunity ties to how nwn handles these mechanics. If a spell can be resisted, the SR Check is done and if resistance succeeds, the spell does not take effect. Spell Immunity on the other hand seems to function rather like always making your SR check vs. any spell you specifically name.

Some spells though are just not written up in a way to respect SR or spell immunity. They take effect despite it all and I think even in the toolset when you try to put a spell immunity specific property vs. certain no spell resist spells, I think the spell still fires and can effect.

I am not certain but I do think the spell immunity by level effect might actually work, but then there is practically no effecting your own golem for example, no buffing it.
