I've mentioned them a few times in-character, so here's a picture of the cute little guys:

The sound they make is, "Piyo!"

I keep trying to find them in a D&D books but coming up blank. XD

While running through the Market being chased by the Abishai I saw these odd
creatures flitting about. Eluding the Abishai for a moment I came back and
talked to the merchant who was selling them.

I asked what they were. He said that Lim-Lims are from the Outlands, neither
insect nor animal. They are friendly, playful and quite loyal. He leaned close
and whispered that they were pretty tasty too, in a pinch.

I thought it time I got a hobby, so I bought one. He told me about the care and
feeding, not that they seem to need any. They find their own food. He wanted
40 coppers. I asked Morte what he thought. He said he thought theyÂ’d be fun to
kick around when weÂ’re down. Ah Morte, what a sentimental fellow he is. I said
IÂ’d take one.

I put him in my hand, and then talked to it. Yes, one of my future selves will no
doubt think IÂ’m daft. I examined the creature, and then started petting it. It was
hard to stop, once I started. The little guy seemed to like it so much and the
noise it made when happy was soothing.

I put him down to run around a bit and moved on. He followed us wherever we
went. After a bit I picked him back up and carried him in my hand.

Tiring of being chased by the Abishai I went to the northwest quarter of the Hive.
Not whole lot of information has been done of them. They were highly likely just made up for Planescape: Torment game.

They were, among a bunch of other things.

But, hey, stranger things can be found on the Outlands.

I did a bit of digging for anything Lim-Lim related. It's not pretty, but here's what I found:

LIM-LIM
These innocuous insects appear to be little more than giant fleas. However, they can be trained, and seem loyal to their owners. How far that loyalty extends is worth investigating.

Apparently a weird cross between a bird, a flea, and a rabbit, this clumsy creature hops about on its two feet, fluttering its vestigial wings and chirping cheerfully.

A lim-lim is a harmless insectoid creature that used to be all the rage among hip Cagers for a short while. Everyone had to have one as a pet, and their price skyrocketed, especially considering the fact that they were worthless before. The lim-lim fad passed away, as all things do, but the City of Doors is now plagued with scores of these playful creatures that feed on bugs, mice, and other small vermin.
Lim-lim egg soup is considered a delicacy in some Outlands burgs.

COMBAT
Lim-lims are not fighters. Their only defense is their cuteness.

Skills: Lim-lims use their Dexterity modifier instead of their Strength modifier for Climb and Jump checks.

LIM-LIMS AS FAMILIARS
A sorcerer or wizard can choose a lim-lim instead of a standard creature from the list offered in the PlayerÂ’s Handbook. The master of a lim-lim familiar has a +2 bonus on his Will saves.
A lim-lim familiarÂ’s Intelligence score does not increase as its master advances in level. Instead, its Charisma score increases as specified in the table (see PlayerÂ’s Handbook).
