IT has always been a server policy the staff has enforced but lately its gotten alittle out of hand.

When Aunty gave us all these nice placebles to use and play with the staff put one very very simple guideline in place to be followed.

If your going to log out clean up your placeables, please.

This is started to slide considerably. Ive seen placables set up on the server for the entire length of the server up time with no owner in sight.

I hate to point fingers but the merchant pcs are the BIGGEST offenders.

We have tons of open stalls to do our business in, yes this is true but lets face it some are to far from the central area to be noticed or some are too small to really use.

As the player of two merchants myself i know its a pain to set everything up over and over and over but out of respect for the server, other pcs and especially other merchants who like to use stalls i always make sure my stalls are broken down before i log for any amount of time.

Please, pick up your furnature.

There is a sanction on cleaning up unattended props if the owner is off-line, isn't there? I thought I recall reading that people are free to clean up a stall if the owner is has logged off of the server.

Correct,, if we did not want people to be able to do this, we would not have had that particular feature coded.

Brin usually cleans up after himself... and others, unless I get unexpectedly called away from the computer.

Really, all you need to do is click their things take them down if you need the stall.

I get that its a matter of politeness to clean it up when you log out. But it's a also something that takes 2 seconds to fix, and I just fix it if I see logged off merchants (and they've been gone more than, say, an hour).

Could start teleporting the Merchants back to their stalls to self-clean up when they are all RPing upstairs in the Tavern for four hours with 'Away' Signs on their stalls

The biggest offenders are those who are online, but not present with their stalls. Using 'Away' or 'Closed' on their Shop signs. In truth, they are just off doing other things for extended amounts of time (Longest I've seen has been 3 hours.) with 4-5 Chests, Placeables and a Shop sign present.

The hardest part about cleaning up shop stalls while their owners are in Private Areas is that we have to delete each item Manually. That means I have to detonate each chest of yours, then go through their loot bags deleting over 500 items one by one as the list continues to refresh itself.

I'm actually serious about taxing people too (Enough to hurt your wallet). Having a Fated come knock on a House, or a Tavern door. Wanting to fine the person for 'Neglecting' Merchandise and property in the rather Active and Bustling Bazaar, would just be hilarious. Especially if the Fated have to clean it up.

It's just a matter of responsibility. It's a lot easier for Merchants to set their stalls back up than it is for an EM/DM to destroy them.

Then why destroy them? I've seen people set up shop in front of the benches at the
planetouched wall. I have literally never seen the bazaar in a situation where all of
the stalls were taken, and a new merchant would be required to take a shitty place.

It's literally not a problem, and I have no idea why people seem to complain about
the ability to browse players' shops even while that player is not present. It doesn't
cause lag, it doesn't prevent you from setting up your own shop, and it's certainly
not worth despawning the shops of players who are still online. If that's actually a
thing that's being done, then each chest destroyed needs to be compensated for in
jink. Those things aren't free, even though they should be a thing you buy once and
use forever. A chest isn't going to stop existing just because you pack it up.

The fact that the entire bazaar is filled with empty stalls with no indication of who their owner is just makes the place look like an e-penis contest... and please, don't tell me the poor merchant cant make a profit when I've regularly seen or heard people making 100k in a night; when their stall cost like 2-3k at most. If someone wants to take over a deserted stall that has no owner in sight, it is well within their right.

And yes, it does cause a slight amount of lag, due to having several big lists of items available for anyone to browse; its not significant, but its still there.

IÂ’m of the opinion that if you set up shop, you have to manage it. If youÂ’re going away for more than 30 minutes, you should break everything down or risk someone else doing it for you. Simply leaving everything up, thus stopping someone else from using the space is simply poor behavior. If youÂ’re not using it, let someone else have the spot.

A friendly bump for prop users. With the addition of all the lovely new placeables, please clean up after yourselves if you've left the area. It is a courtesy to players in terms of visual pollution and server lag.
