Got a quick question.

My Bard/Firre just reached level 21 and I was aiming for the Song of Requiem epic feat. The character has 8 Firre and 13 Bard and 24 perform skill (once the level is taken)

The feat doesn't appear. Is this deliberate in that you must have 21 pure bard levels to qualify for the feat?

I was asking because Song of Heroism does appear on the list and that needs 15 bard levels according to the description.

Clearly Bard PRC's need the Eldritch Master treatment! Feat to fool the requirements? :P

After reading the Firre Prc carefully - I see that it indicates that it gives no bard levels at Firre Prc levels 1 and 5.

So if this is the case, that only gives you an actual bard level of 19

bard: 13 + Firre: 6(8-2)= 19

The requirement is 21 actual bard levels. So even though your Firre will use his normal bardsong as his combined bard/firre level (minus the two non-gaining levels), you will need to be 21 bard to take requiem. Let me explain why this is...

Qualifying for these feats makes use of fields in feat.2da. In this case, MinLevel and MinLevelClass. And unfortunately, you can only apply those to a single class. There's also a minimum perform requirment, but otherwise if you qualify in those two things, you're good.

Now unlike warlock, where we can script granting extra dice of eldritch blast, there's no other prereq we could really apply to this that couldn't be gotten around with a build that shouldn't be able to.

meh, an erinyes bard it is then. 21 bard 6 erinyes. i just want a pet to go with me bard.

Also, Liquiddreamer, you could consider a 21 Bard/6 Brachina. while not all the Brachina levels you do get +4cha, henchman summon, regen and 4 bard levels of casting. Alternative if you want a more caster type bard than Erinyes.

Or you could go Ogre Mage.

Couldn't a new feat be made then that does the exact same thing with the requirements being level 21 (a special feat from max levels in any racial class or prc) same amount of songs as the other requires etc? And then just make it so people with this feat cant take the other?

Since most ecl and racial prcs don't allow you to take 21 bard and full racial prcs.

In case anyone is interested I just did a build check on Hymn of Requiem in the MOTB campaign. Like EDM not needing a turning class you do not have to take a level in Bard to qualify for the hymn feat.

Therefore a 21Bard/6Erinyes will qualify Hymn of Requiem at level 27 (ECL30) if you take the 21 bard levels before reaching level 25.

Now time to test this in SCoD. :P

You don't have to take it on a bard level (that's controlled by the AllClassesCanTake column), but you do need 21 levels of bard. You wouldn't be able to take it on, for example, Bard 19 Eldritch Knight 10.
